  1. I too have great faith in Gareth's abilities both as a vocalist and also a musician. I agree that Cowel drops artists like hot potatoes but I don't agree that he does it once they have stopped making him or the record label money - I think he drops them the moment they try to "Go Their Own Way". I am glad Gareth has taken this time away to strenthen his speech and to develop his music and if the rumours about a documentary are true then everyone will see exactly what he has been doing whilst away! As for Shayne - I think Gareth and Shayne are both tremendous artists - I think Shayne has a brilliant voice and I think the potential to remain in the business for a very long time - I don't like Louis Walsh - never have and I think Shayne has to begin to put his own personality into his career before it is too late. I am concerned that SC and LW will push Shayne constantly towards the ballads but they have worked very well for Westlife and if Shayne is happy to record them - then I say no more.
  2. The record label who agree to distribute an album through their distribution channels.
  3. Funny how the only statements to be found anywhere are on ggates.co.uk and 19 Entertainments website. Strange that the BMG website mentions nothing Strange how once again VN "sources" have come out to play and even stranger that they should say such uncalled for things about Gareth's forthcoming material (especially as BMG have yet to hear the tracks!) Funny that eh?

I saw Shayne on TV this morning too, I hope he gets at least a year out of the music industry before SC gets bored and moves on to his next project. I won't be buying the album or the single though, No promises went round and round in my head all morning and I only caught a bit of it during the interview, that was enough, thankfully on hearing that Jean Pitney has passed away my mind took me to 24hrs to Tulsa instead.
  5. SC and Gareth parted company around the time Gareth released Sunshine. The arguing between SC and SF regarding the album and the direction in which Gareth took his music reflected this. Gareth and SF wanted to go down the road of the more upbeat, younger, funky blend of music, whilst SC wanted the ballads. Gareth's last single which incidently went in at No 4 in the SH singles chart was SC choice - a sugary ballad which Gareth looked bored to death singing. A fourth single was on the cards but was never released and the rest is now history. My guess is Gareth will release further music - who will back it yet is anyone's guess but I wish him well. I said in my last post it is his fans I feel for. I just hope they are treated by his Management with the respect they deserve for the support they have shown. What I don't understand is why this news has been released - Gareth's track record is far far superior than many artists in the charts now or in the past - there really is more to this than what appears on the surface. Afterall EVERY artist is only as good as their last single/album.

Very true, saw her once in concert - years ago, she was fantastic :(

They got married last year in September so they have been married 6 months just. I read that Jordan and Peter went over to Disney at the expense of OK Magazine (what a surprise) all bought and paid for by her next front cover. I laugh when I read she wants privacy from the press and wants to go to America, well go then I am sure there are enough people that would club together for her ticket and spare one for Puppy Peter. See ya Jordan :P
  8. I think there is a helluva lot more to the news that Gareth has parted company with BMG than meets the eye. Gareth has talent and it is small minded to say otherwise, whether you like his music or him is another matter but he is talented and a multi talented musician. This news seems to have delighted Gareth's fans, it is exactly what is needed. SC has been totally unsupportive of Gareth since SF backed Gareth's wish to release Sunshine (which incidently even non Gareth fans enjoyed). I always believed that Gareth was jointly managed between SC and SF and if that were true the wranglings between the two Simon's may have been one of the reasons for delay - the out of court settlement between SF and SC a couple of months ago may have kick started negotiations between the two re: Gareth, so SC may have decided finally to allow Gareth to Go His Own Way!! Which is what he wanted all along. Who knows, many care - many don't - It is the fans I feel sorry for the most, hanging around waiting patiently for news since God only knows when - treated with total disrespect by everyone. Judging by some of the snippets I have picked up around the net re: Gareth, he has worked with some pretty influential and talented writers and producers whilst he has been away from the music frontline, not fogetting he has had two birthdays and is no longer a 17 year old lad but a mature man of not far short of 22. He deserves a shot at releasing his own stuff, his fans deserve to hear it after all this time - the rest is in the hands of the general public, if they like what they hear and buy into the music all will be well, if they don't at least he gave it a shot.
