True. I have great teeth! :D But then, I'm not allergic to flouride. So I can see why a lot of people wouldn't want it in their water. I remember reading ages ago that it also was suspected to be a culprit in behaviour and learning difficulties in young kids. But haven't read anything unanimous. Either way, I'm suspect with what most governments do, so I say NO FLUORIDE.

  10. If I had to nominate an overlooked classic of an album it would have to be RELAYER - YES. It has one of the most beautiful songs on it called Soon, oh Soon. Gates of Delirium is another great track. I often drift off just listening to whole album. It's very seldom mentioned in greatest albums of all time. Which is a shame because it's just as good as early Pink Floyd. From what I've been told, it hung around the charts for ever. I guess it's probably because it never seemed to attract the kind of hype that surrounded other albums at that time.
  11. I agree with most that have already been mentioned but just want to add The Sweet. Especially the later stuff like Action and albums like Sweet Fanny Adams and Desolation Boulevarde. When in my opinion, they were at their best.
  12. Oh boy. Okay Grim. EVERY SINGLE ONE of these youths is just an ignorant , disrespectful bast*rd/b**ch who are totally NORMAL with no MENTAL ILLNESS OR DISORDERS and just do it all for fun. And there is a huge difference between having a mental disorder and being mentally incompetent.
  13. How do you know if the majority can or can't help themselves or that they are or aren't mentally ill? This isn't exactly NORMAL behaviour is it? I don't think that sedating violent out of control youth is actually drugging anyone "willy nilly" meaning without reason/grounds for heavens sake. And there is a huge difference between sedatives and antii-psychotics drugs and street drugs like crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, speed etc. And it WOULD be a huge change for them if they got some mental assessment and some help (which usually means psychiatric drugs, like it or not). Rather than left to run riot and create havoc on society and themselves. The byline of the name of this thread is.......What can be DONE to reduce it.......I think my suggestion is anything but "utter nonsense" Grim.
  14. Repeat offenders should be sedated 24/7, either at home under parents supervision or in a facility , as punishment. End of problem if they can't get out of bed to create havoc on the streets. If they were treated as mental patients instead of criminals , the coolness factor would no longer be an attraction. Jail and the threat of jail doesn't seem to be working.
  15. If people want to donate it's quite easy to tick the donor box on their drivers license for YES. If people haven't ticked the box it means they don't want to donate. Or people can put their names on the Donors List. How clearer can a person intentions to be to donate or not donate?? They are hoping to catch the unwary, uneducated, illiterate, ill informed, the homeless, the mentally ill, illegal immigrants and a whole host of other people who are the vulnerable in our society. Who for various reasons won't/can't be put on a DO NOT REMOVE ORGANS list. I do not believe they want these organs for these 7,000 people either. With this opt out concept or this EVERYONE IS FAIR GAME TO BE EXPLOITED FOR BODY PARTS scheme, there will be surplus organs eventually. You can guarantee that these won't be used for transplants but used for some scientific experiments or some other commercial profiteering scheme that hasn't come to light yet. The blood that we donate for free is sold on in other blood by-products for profit and is a multi million dollar business. Why should something we give for ultruistic reasons be abused like that. As far as I'm concerned, when they want to start getting manipulative and make loop holes to exploit to catch people out, then its to do with $$$$$ not saving lives IMO
  16. I think "bubble gum" Pop definately originated from the U.K back in the 60s. I always thought of the Beatles as being rock'n'roll but then you put them up against a band like The Rolling Stones who were around at the same the time, and the Beatles sound cheesey in comparison. I always thought Pop started out as a term to describe Popular Music. And what was Popular at the time was cheesey/bubblegum Pop. So the term kind of stuck for that kind of music. IMO as I really don't know for sure. BTW I love the Beatles and so am using the term cheesey/bubblegum as a descriptive term as everyone seems to know what kind of Pop I mean. :)

  22. "....Unsold copies of Robbie's dreadful Rudebox album are being shipped to China - to be used for resurfacing roads. Industry insiders revealed yesterday that more than a million Rudebox CDs will be crushed and then used in street lighting and road projects. That will be the first time Robbie's name has been up in bright lights for quite some time...." http://www.mirror.co.uk/showbiz/3am/2008/0...89520-20288077/ Oh dear. EMI are really hard up.
  23. Sure they weren't just partaking in some good old Aussie culture? lol Seriously though, I wasn't talking about ALL Brits in Oz but those in the hospitality sector that I've seen working restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Brissie. I have never come across an incompetent British hospitality worker yet. And there are plenty of them around to make the judgement. As hospitality seems to the sector that a lot gravitate to when they are here.
  24. Consie I wasn't directing that comment at you in particular directly. Sorry bout that. In general..... I think the hybrid along with less car ownership in the West can help India and China along too. Say only 1 car per family? Sooner or later, we are going to start making sacrifices so other people in the world can progress to. And the word racist was out of context in the regard Grimm your right.
  25. Well we can't keep standing in the way of these countries progress and shouting "bad for the environment" all the time. It just seems like another attempt at trying to suppress these peoples right to the same lifestyle that we have. I find it all rather racist in a very subtle, patronising way.
