Never liked them that much, they jumped on th ebandwagon far too late for me...
  2. Didn't know this lot were still going - thought it was all a flash in the pan. That said I still prefer McFly...
  3. It's a good-sounding single - not much progression from the first album, but... I'll forgive t hem. I don't think the Editors themselves pretend they are that original a band. In the battle of the bands, I'd take them just over Interpol... only just though.

I remember having a bit of a crush on Saffron. As far as their songs go - Drop Dead Gorgeous and Ready to Go were good but I can't think much else.

The new Wiredaisies album - eponymously-titled "Wiredaisies" it's out this week download-only (iTunes link) and has been climbing the iTunes chart steadily. I've downloaded a couple of tracks ('Wake Up' and 'Rocket Girl') and I'm quite pleased with the results. Does anyone else agree? Quite a rocky sound they've got going this time - having heard these guys a couple of years ago they've changed their sound a bit since I last encountered them.
  6. Haha! Quite cheeky. I like.
  7. You have got to be kidding me. The Enemy aren't good enough to be the Jam's roadies, let alone the band themselves.

Yeah I like this track a lot - proper dirty electronica. Justice have done some good stuff of late - that remix of Simian last year was brilliant
  9. Indeed - the Stereophonics were one of the worst most hackneyed unoriginal dirgey bands out there. I don't mind Coldplay's music - his voice is far more listenable than fat boy from Keane, and their songs far more tuneful than Travis. But everything in the right dose and they are waaay overexposed. And I can't stand his preachiness either - I feel sorry for the rest of the band if he does it to them as well.

Thank god for that. The way they murdered Radiohead's "Creep" live on national television was too much to bear

Can any PJ Harvey fans help me out - has she got a new album out this year? I hear she's got a tour planned so I assume there is an album to go along with it: according to her website (http://www.pjharvey.net/) she is playing the Manchester International Festival on July 7th and then Spain 13th & 14th. Is there any more info on a new album being released at the same time? All help gratefully recieved, thanks :)
  12. His 'N Hers is my favourite album - but Different Class I like as well, I just played it too much when it came out
  13. Porn stars trying to make it in the pop business... it would be a lot more fun if it were the other way round.

    C'mon Blur, nudging ahead...
  15. They were a rubbish Killers ripoff band judging on the last album and I doubt much has changed

http://www.myspace.com/hesagayboy Saw this on another messageboard yesterday - can't get the tune out of my head. Bit cheeky with the lyrics but it's dead catchy. I'm not sure who the band behind this are but I hope they've got other songs like this as well. What do you guys reckon?
  17. I had no idea what you guys were on about but I just checked it out on YOuTube and I thought it was brilliant, if disturbing...
  18. Wow - I thought Portishead had more or less quit completely. Now I'm suddenly quite excited! :)
  19. I think you need your ears tested - they don't sound like each other at all!
  20. I saw these guys support the Fratellis and they were shocking. Not just the fact they can't play very well but their stage craft and personality was just offensive, like some really poor Oasis impersonators. One of the biggest differences in talent between support act and main act I have ever seen.

Spent this weekend digging out some old Fall albums and listening through - hadn't heard them in ages.My favourite album is probably Hex Endunction Hour, though Perverted By Language can win me over when I'm in the right mood. Anyone else here into them?
  22. Some good there - though RHCP and NIN are past it and I don't think the reformed Pumpkins will be that good. £150 seems a bit much for what you're getting tho.
  23. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/new...s_revealed.html Festival stars revealed 20/ 3/2007 TWO American music stars will be the top attractions at the first-ever Manchester International Festival. Hip-hop and rap superstar Kanye West and rock legend Lou Reed will appear in the city alongside a host of home-grown heroes, including The Happy Mondays and The Fall, it was announced today. -------------- I didn't know he was doing any UK dates this year! Anyone here going to go? More info here: http://www.manchesterinternationalfestival...t.aspx?id=69858
  24. Silent Alarm is great in my opinion - I think the new one is the grower not the other way round. I'm liking it though.
  25. I quite like them I have to say - gonna be seeing them at Wireless in London this summer!
