Olivia Rodrigo - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love
This will be my Saturday long walk album listen I think! I actually have enjoyed both her albums so far but SOUR is the one I’ve revisited most as a whole album. The comments re this album have me quite intrigued though for those who’ve listened is it a change in direction as a whole album listen? I think she’s easily looking at more success here though. She’s had crazy longevity with albums 1 and 2 here (her top 40 weeks on the UK albums chart is genuinely insane for someone still so early in their career!)

eternal sunshine • 7th Album
So close to another week top 40! Wouldn’t rule this actually making the top 40 again as Petal / UK shows get closer. I might have to give the whole album another listen to be reminded of just how good it is.

Ariana Grande • General Discussion
I’ve had a feeling that they’d broken up too but it feels like cruel timing for it to be announced now just as she’s had a milestone 10th US #1 and the tours only just begun. Hope she’s ok!

Biggest act to never have had a UK No1 single
Some big names and I think that you’d perhaps get a different answer depending on age / demographic. Based on UK popularity and cultural appeal perhaps The Killers would be my shout but Springsteen, Bob Marley, Bon Jovi and Amy Winehouse all worthy mentions. Agree that Janet Jackson never really was huge in the UK definitely not to the level she was in the US. If we were to discuss the biggest act without a UK #1 albums wise I’d probably say it’s Britney!

The Eternal Sunshine Tour 2026
I think Sweetener will get a moment to shine at some point of the tour run (maybe wishful thinking? But I don’t think she’ll completely erase it) I mean major artists tours often change 2-3 tracks each venue / each show and with a whole new album getting released during the tour too I think the setlist is well adapted to be changed. I wonder if Sweetener and thank u, next could alternate? Not only did they get focus of the last tour but they’re also the two albums recorded during the lowest point of her personal life. I think no tears left to cry, REM and God is a woman are likely to be performed at some point but perhaps in place of thank u, next and 7 rings? I pray London gets rain on me but I’m one of the few people it seems happy about that inclusion!

The Eternal Sunshine Tour 2026
I’ve seen some snippets this morning as I woke up! Looks like a pretty good show and a surprising setlist for sure for what was included and some of what was missed. I definitely think the London shows will be different to accommodate Petal but last night looked like a good show for sure.

Confessions II ● 15th album
I’m so here for all the promo pre release we’re getting here. I hope the UK gets something too but she’s going all out and it feels like the public are aware new music is near! Really hope we can give her another UK #1 album!

Shania Twain - Little Miss Twain
Making thread for this as I couldn’t see one previously! Album OUT July 24th! I presume we may get some promo and live performances with her supporting Harry Styles for the London shows but excited to see what she brings! I saw Shania in vegas so I’m hyped for new music from her. A chart battle with Charli too on release week!

I Knew It, I Knew You • Toy Story 5 Soundtrack Single
This feels really nostalgic. This could easily have been on the TV of Fearless or debut album TV it feels so much like early Taylor but with her today voice. I do quite like it! It’s better than the vast majority of the entire Showgirl album for me at least. I’m intrigued to see how it’s used within the film but I can appreciate this track from her for sure. 😆)

Rank Ariana's lead singles (2026 edition)
Ok so after a listen and some thinking this is my current ranking based off today! no tears left to cry hate that I made you love me thank u, next Dangerous Woman The Way Problem positions yes, and? no tears left to cry is a masterpiece no doubt about it. Perfect comeback and one of the best singles and videos of the decade! There’s not much in it really 2-5 may be interchangeable but hate that I made you love me has made a strong first impression and it’s definitely been more instant than her last few leads! thank u, next pops off a lot now and feels like her signature track perhaps at the height of her cultural dominance, Dangerous Woman offered something different and has many a vocal moment through the track, The Way was perfect as a major debut and feels very true to Ariana as well like I’d love more of that sound from her with her today voice. Problem as jade said feels dated now but I loved it at the time and I’ve grown to relove it now too. positions itself is great but it’s my least returned too of her albums and there’s better on the album for me too! I do like the track though but it’s not one I listen too much on it’s own accord now despite bashing it through late 2020-early 2021. yes, and? I don’t know what it was but I never fully got it. Eternal sunshine the album was sensational thankfully but this is like the odd one out on the album a strange lead choice. I do appreciate it was at least not a typical ari lead and that it gave something different but unless I’m playing the album as a whole I’d rarely seek out a listen to this on its own.

What is the first news event you can remember?
I think for me it was probably the Soham murders case! Even now I really remember those images of the girls and I was very close in age the time to what Holly and Jessica were too. I really think that’s the first news story I remember what stuck with me. It feels fresh lately with the recent death of Huntley and the case coming back into media attention (and that image I know the families no longer want it used if I remember righty but it always sticks out in my mind). 9/11 I’d have been 6 at the time and I think it was a tad later where I learned about that more in depth but within real time I do think the Soham case was one what had an impact on kids my age at the time of parents being way more cautious and not letting us out of their sights.

'Kylie' (Netflix Documentary Series) [20th May 2026]
Need to see this so badly but I don’t have Netflix!

Just Like Fire Inc - P!nk General Discussion
Happy to see some new P!nk content coming at some point tomorrow (or Monday in UK time zone) with Tony’s promo! I love that she’s in New York full time now and supporting Willows dreams of wanting to be a star in her own right. I’m in need of some new music soon! I’m actually going to do a full P!nk discography listen again soon (more so Can’t Take Me Home!) but I’m always here for new music from her one of my all time favourites and a forever icon to me.

Love Sensation ● Single
It definitely sounds a little like Modjo Lady (here me tonight) in places especially in the chorus when it first kicks off. I think this is stronger than Bring Your Love now on initial listens. I still think the album itself will give us stronger but I like the production on this one.

I Feel So Free ● promo single
This is my favourite of what we’ve heard so far by far too! It’s the only track so far what feels reminiscent of the actual Confessions era.

Ellie Goulding - I Know Too Much
I know what you mean here. All of her albums have their fair share of great tracks yet she can also suffer when she actively tries to be mainstream and chase a hit. Brightest Blue contains so many career highlights yet the singles are almost like an entirely seperate body of work tacked onto the album 😆. When she’s more introspective and more so when she doesn’t have a collaborator on the track is when she’s at her best for me! I have hopes this album could be good though.

Ellie Goulding - Black Prada Dress
I definitely hear lorde on this too!

Rank Ariana's lead singles (2026 edition)
Great thread idea here Jade! I’m going to actually give a relisten here I have a clear first (and clear last place) but the rest could fall in any order depending on the day and my mood. hate that i made you love me is definitely her most instant lead since no tears left to cry though and has gotten way more week one plays! However looking at that list it doesn’t actually include many of my favourites from her. Shes always better with the album tracks and follow ups is Ariana.

hate that i made you love me • 1st Single
Madonna and Rihanna the only solo females to have more is such an incredible feat for Ari who still feels relatively fresh and new to the industry. So happy for her 💝. She also has the most debuts at #1 amongst female artists! All of her chart toppers here have debuted at #1.

'The Fame' ● Album Discussion Thread ● Part 2
yessss!! Record breaking smash! The only debut album by a American female (or non British female in general) what’s managed this milestone ❣️ Amy Winehouse Back to Black, Dua Lipa self titled debut, Adele 21 and Katys Teenage Dream are the only other female studio albums to do this too!
-
eternal sunshine • 7th Album
With the tour incoming with UK promo and petal release I think she can do it!
-
eternal sunshine • 7th Album
It’s back into the albums top 100 here in the UK. 97 weeks charting top 100 now. We can so get to that 100 weeks milestone now. #85 this week.
-
Dangerous Woman • 3rd Album
27 weeks top 40 now too which matches it with eternal sunshine! Hopefully it sticks around top 100 with tour impact as it was almost charting last week.

Least Fave Lady Gaga Single Round 17
Judas to go! Hoping Shallow doesn’t fall victim to leaving before it’s time like the rest of her ballads 😆

Artists with most weeks on albums top 40/75
Bumping this perhaps could need moving to a new location. I found a page re albums with most weeks on charts but in terms of artists I’m still stuck. The reason for the thread was I’d seen how many weeks top 40 Olivia Rodrigo had already managed on the albums top 40 and there wasn’t many I seen who had more weeks than her 😅
