Sugababes 2.0 are perhaps my favourite girl group ever BUT as a collective i had to take into account 4.0 and the Catfights album! The Sugababes did have 5 great albums though and some fantastic singles. Really hope 1.0 get another full studio album out there too. I really think 2.0s stuff still sounds rather current now and hasn’t really aged that much the way some acts who debuted later have a dated sound to certain material.

Vocally Little Mix are more talented than some other girl groups I’d ranked higher but I feel like some of the other acts (particularly UK girl groups) just had a bit more of an edge and the material felt more out-there and edgy. I have to hand it to Little Mix for managing to make it to studio album 6 before drama begun to unfold though. The hiatus come at a good time for them but it is a shame that things are sour between the girls now (well one member). LM5 would probably be my favourite from the girls now as a whole album listen. I think that’s their album what felt most like them and had some real career highs on there but what weren’t pushed as singles.
  3. Interestingly as well in the UK Gaga has never had a #2 so I wouldn’t be mad if this was to get there (she’d then just need a #10 to have at least one track on every position in the UK top 10. Hopefully we do get some more CDs! Get looking at the mids Team Gaga / Bruno and PUSH. Unless they’re planning on something for week 7 (when ACR then looms) and they’re going for longevity. It’s already done great really but the higher the peak the better!
  4. There’s also a CD single for this which will hopefully be able to be shipped to the UK. I’d definitely be here for him to get another #1 though! He really is just THAT male artist for me in a complete whole other lane. In a sense he’s a real pop girlie in terms of the creative forces he has, staging, looks etc he’s one of the few male artists who manage to bring all of that but have the music and presence too as a performer. So ready for this! After seeing the stream of the show as well this really stood out amongst the new material.
  5. I don’t know about this week but I can definitely see them overtaking Chappell too by the time it’s heading towards week 7 and of course two of Sabrina’s tracks as well we’re formally ACR tracks. I think we could push for top 5 possibly here in the UK but itll end up being one of those songs what potentially outsells most of the years #1s in the long run.
  6. Nice to see increases week on week though! Hopefully we can avoid ACR for a time for week 7 onwards though I think it’s possible we could! The ideal situation would be if it increased on week 9  3 weeks so far at #7! Hopefully a new peak next week?! BIRDS OF A FEATHER is now on ACR.

For a Buzzjack poll I’m surprised to see The Killers this high but I did rank them fairly highly as I’ve always really liked them on the whole and they have a great discography. Still yet to see them live.
  8. Please be the 14th for the ultimate birthday present! I turn the dreaded 30 on Valentines Day so this will be the ultimate gift  (and its a Friday)
  9. Really hope Gaga and Bruno can eventually go top 5 on Spotify! It’s still holding so so well worldwide but the UK are still a little behind. I have faith it could perhaps manage it though but happy to see it still be top 10.
  10. Coming back to this and does Adele’s Make You Feel My Love qualify? It did moderately well initially yet X Factor 2010 really made it into a huge enduring hit now and I’d say in the UK at least it’s amongst her most well known tracks with many people not realising it’s actually a cover. X Factor back then was huge so it really made the song what it is now I’d say in the UK as without that exposure I don’t think it would be what it is now (and it brilliantly timed with 21s release right around the corner too which sent her into icon status).
  11. In some ways I really want her to just honestly address the question. What we got there didn’t really give any reason at all but I’d respect her if she just said Teenage Dream was a huge success and she wanted a taste of that again so she got Luke back onboard. The reason she did it was obviously because she expected or wanted a commercial comeback and assumed he was the one for it. I don’t necessarily think it would help her cause or win people over but backtracking and playing the mother card also really isn’t it (and then mentioning Woman’s World of all songs). It’s going to take some beating for a female pop album from a major star to be so terribly handled. It really is quite fascinating to observe.
  12. Chillin and Christmas Tree had my votes here.
  13. Happy to get at least one pointless answer! Again assumed Mariah would’ve been a high pointer here so went for Elton  but happy it was at least correct. Kelly and Ariana come to mind as well but panicked and chose something significantly older than ten years to at least be in the time frame. (It’s funny in a sense that playing this like family fortunes could’ve done me better here as it seems the obvious picks are doing the best for the game  ).

Going off this forum I think my 30 pointer could be safe but have a feeling another act may get the win overall. This is actually more difficult to call than what the solo artist categories were however! Always love these countdowns though and seeing other posters music tastes in more detail

Love this forum at times and seeing The Saturdays poll higher than Oasis is so peak this forum  I’d have probably ranked The Saturdays a couple of places higher if this was a few years back but I still gave them some points. I can definitely see how they were huge on here  I think they filled a gap during a time of Girls Aloud being on hiatus and Sugababes having no original Sugababes perfectly. I always admire their spirit and how they really chased after that number one single what they eventually did manage to get. Its funny in a sense how after that the determination / interest within the group seemed to dwindle from the members themselves.
  16. Just putting it out there re the album that a BRITs performance is a real need here (and with timing of album release an actual possibility).
  17. I can definitely see something from the album charting as I think there could be some real viral moments but the musical moments will be very different to that of A Star Is Born. Multiple tracks coming to chart at the same time perhaps?
  18. Love that artwork! Guessing this won’t chart on the main UK albums chart and it’ll be a compilation? But here for this era! What a time to be alive
  19. The way it says first single makes me feel there’s going to be at least two before album release which I actually feel is good! But this is all happening now!!! :w00t: :w00t:
  20. Opposite effect this time around. Girls Aloud coming to mind first but presumed they’d prove a popular Buzzjack response
  21. Billie was typically my first bet for this question but ended up going with Hozier thinking he’d be a Low scorer but looks like a few of us made that error.
  22. Who decides the award? I can’t see Taylor not getting it if it’s a viewer voted decision but it could be pretty open if it’s a panel.
  23. Wasn’t Die for You by The Weeknd too kind of like another Cruel Summer? It kind of detracted from further pushes from the Dawn Fm era when that took off again (then we had the Ariana remix).
  24. Does Shallow count for this? So I know A Star Is Born was a major project and pretty high profile but I definitely think Shallow performed considerably better than what was anticipated. I actually think I’ll Never Love Again was billed as being the one that was due to get the big single push initially wasn’t it? I mean the soundtrack had three huge smashes but Shallow is now one of the most defining hits of the streaming generation.
  25. UK catching up now the Oasis impact is dying off. Hope the UK can see a rise in position across all platforms and snatch that new peak as the weeks progress. Next week bar a major drop (is there one) could we perhaps be set for one if Billie does go to acr.
