Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER
Many seem to think the album was originally called BEYINCE until a last minute change. I wonder if her having a self titled album may have spurred the decision to change it? But the idea of several tracks being missing would definitely make me feel short changed as a fan.

Rihanna 2024 Albums Survivor
Hey all! Obviously this forum isn’t quite so active as Rih is still rather low-key with the music. As a way to try and get some engagement I’ve decided to an updated albums survivor as there has been quite sometime since the last one. Simply just vote for your *least* favourite Rihanna studio album. I don’t quite know when this will close but I’ll see what the responses are like and then close when there’s been a good enough response.

Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER
This is definitely her strongest album for me. I’ve never really rated *any* of her projects as whole bodies of work except for maybes self titled but this is definitely a strong body of work. I am partial to country in general though so it may be that playing into it but yeah I’m actually surprised by how good this is and I’m speaking as someone who’s never really *gotten* the vast majority of her work.

RAYE - My 21st Century Blues
#29 now in the UK. Bit of a drop as the BRITS resurgence had kept it back in the top 10 for 3 weeks. I’m still really loving this as an album though. The BRITS impact really reminded me of how great it was and i think I’m enjoying it even more now if anything. I still think she’s in a great position if album 2 comes out fairly soon.

Justin Timberlake - Everything I Thought It Was
#86 in the UK on week 2! eeek! I actually feel a little bad because I don’t think the album itself is bad. I’m a little surprised too obviously I know he’s had strong backlash but even with his name alone I thought he’d have had a bigger week one and a stronger hold up. I guess it’ll probably not return to the top 100 now.

EastEnders
Priya has had quite a good introduction so far. Often in soaps when there’s a new character they tend to make the mistake of overusing them too soon and shoehorn them into stories where they’re not needed and force friendships and relationships but she’s had quite a slow but natural build up being used here and there and slowly integrating herself with the cast. I like that she plays quite a lighthearted comedic esque role and she’s doing that well but I do think she’d do well with more dramatic stories too. The exit of Ben was underwhelming especially for how extensively used his character was for a time. I’ve always rated Max as an actor yet I never quite seen him as the character of Ben. I think if Max was cast as a completely new character to the show I might have enjoyed him more but I still just don’t see him as Ben Mitchell. The character of Ben did need resting but I can’t see the character being off screens for too long and I imagine we’ll get yet another actor playing him again soon although with Clenshaw in charge if he does still happen to be in charge at the time I wonder if they’ll do a recast back to Harry Reid esque change for Ben. Harry was the best Ben for me so I wouldn’t be mad if they did but the character does need at least a years rest if not longer.

Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER
I’ve pretty much always felt like this with her. I can’t fault her vocals or her abilities as a live act. It’s just her actual material itself pretty much largely does absolutely nothing for me. I am inclined to give this one a go based on me being partial to country and some of the clips I’ve heard have intrigued me.

Girls Aloud - See The Day
I’ve actually always had a bit of a soft spot for this. I think had it been a stand alone single the fans might not be so harsh on it but because it’s featured on Chemistry and it got a single push over some of the strong tracks on there it’s seen less favourable. I think I prefer it to most of their covers though. Nadine sounds gorgeous on it and it did have a bit of a Christmassy esque feel too. I still enjoy it not necessarily a career highlight but it’s one of their stronger vocal performances.

Camila Cabello feat. Playboi Carti - I LUV IT
I’m not entirely sure if I’m sold or not but I can definitely see this performing pretty well. One of those songs what I think could potentially be huge it’s got TikTok written all over it.

Jordan Lees “official” Britney albums rankings.
Almost four year since I posted this! However I did this again not too long ago (it was actually when I got the book!) and my opinions have slightly changed (so here’s my re-ranking) 1. In The Zone (=) 2. Britney (=) 3. Circus (=) 4. Blackout (+2) 5. Baby One More Time (-1) 6. Oops I Did It Again (-1) 7. Glory (=) 8. Femme Fatale (=) 9. Britney Jean (=) Blackout definitely sounds better now than it did when I did this initially and I can more see why it’s a fan favourite (the book as well is very much in support of Blackout too which may have played a part in my new found affection. I still don’t think it’s her absolute best but I do enjoy it more now. I think the top 7 here all make a somewhat decent listen though. Glory now with the extension does have some highs on there but it is quite lengthy a listen and despite her feeling more passionate re this album than Britney Jean and Femme Fatale I still don’t think it’s necessarily her at her best. I still unashamedly love the first two albums despite the dated feel there’s just too much nostalgia attached for me to feel negatively re them. The top 3 though are all so killer. Circus feels really underrated! Britney has some of her best albums tracks of her whole career id actually say Britney is the album where the singles aren’t the immediate highlights. In The Zone is one of the best female 00s albums and I’ll forever feel gutted of its peak but to me that’s the ultimate Britney album. Intrigued at others rankings and to see if any commenters when I first posted this have changed views.

Celebrity Big Brother UK • Series 23
Not too surprised at Bradley leaving. Very much like Matty last series he did well to get to the last part of the series without ever facing the public vote but as you’re voting for who you want to win they’re not necessarily someone you’d go to vote for (although this is rather a weak final especially on a vote to save). Not a huge fan of these evictions what aren’t live though as they do kind of rob that experience (especially when it’s the last eviction of the series). Obviously in the c4 era had some surprise (to the house evictions like Kathreya in the dressing gown! but they were live) but it’s interesting that for two series in a row we’ve lost a similar character at this stage in terms of their only downfall if you call it that was just them being… nice.

Future Nostalgia • Second Album
This album has now spent 200 weeks on the UK albums chart top 100. Pretty impressive feat for her first two albums to get to that milestone. I *think* Adele is the only other British female to manage it.

Celebrity Big Brother UK • Series 23
So Ekin Su wasn’t born to Turkish parents and even made a TV show documenting her Turkish heritage whilst calling herself (jokingly of course) a Turkish delight on Love Island. It’s well known that she has Turkish heritage  Anyways I’ll refrain now from posting on here. I’ve had instances with you in the past and there’s others In here you’ve jumped upon just because they don’t share your tastes but they aren’t based upon nothing I’ve met many Ferns who’ve treat me the way Ekin was treated and when you experience that as someone who has heritages from other countries you’ll perhaps see were we are coming from.

She’s also had issues with Nikita too. Strange that the male housemate who’s young and not British and the female who’s young and not British she’s clashed with then the non British royal is the one she’s not keen on. It seems a pattern that she isn’t keen on those younger than her unless they’re English born and bred. I can’t see how others cant see how awful she is and to think she was one of the ones I was really rooting for when I seen the line up. I had no idea she was like this  The way Nikita and Ekin both happen to be attractive too is another thing too. Given she’s struggled with her weight in the past I wonder if that was a reason for her not being fond of the gorgeous Ekin Su given she nominated her over a bikini or something didn’t she?

Celebrity Big Brother UK • Series 23
The “Fern out chants” was so satisfying to me knowing that I wasn’t actually crazy in seeing her completely horrific personality throughout the show. It’s a shame that it’s because she seemingly offended Nikita that it happened and that her dire behaviour and attitudes towards younger women will be forgotten about. I still have a feeling she’s winning though even more so now she’s the only woman left.

Justin Timberlake - Everything I Thought It Was
First set of midweeks are in for the UK and he’s at #4!

Celebrity Big Brother UK • Series 23
We seem to be the only ones actually watching the same show here! If anyone else had made the Meghan comments Fern had they’ve had a right old roasting. I think Fern is loved just because she hates Schofield she’s been abysmal in the house. Ekins looks are playing a huge part in the sudden surge in people not being a fan of her and I don’t think I’m reaching saying this

Celebrity Big Brother UK • Series 23
I have an awful (to me at least) feeling that Fern might have a Coleen Nolan esque win. She seems to have a lot of support from what I see. I really hope she doesn’t though. She’s a hater of a young attractive woman (gorgeous Meghan Markle and Ekin Su come to mind). I don’t really see what others are seeing in Fern  I have a hunch the vote might get split in the final though like Bradley, Nikita and Colson have all got this far by doing pretty much nothing. I’d rather David get the win but think he’s too unlikely sadly. Louis to me gives third place a lot of the polarising / divisive characters end up in third but if he sneaks top 2 whoever he’s in it with may get he win based of a anyone but Louis vote. Of who I’d most / least like to get it I think I’d say 1. David 2. Louis (off series contribution) 3. ZeZe 4. Nikita 5. Marisha 6. Bradley 7. Colson 8. Fern

New Gaga music in 2024?
I think it’s streaming support will be crucial too! We see with albums charts that’s kind of what decides it so here’s hoping her team really are on point with the streaming. It’s hard to tell because sometimes they can be on the ball and other times they’re useless. Hold my Hand for example could’ve had far better and bigger support but the Chromatica and A Star Is Born eras did pretty well on there, Chromatica could’ve had more mileage but the support was there initially.

Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded // 3rd album re-release
Album is at #62 this week! It had fallen very slightly last week to #65 but rose up again this week. 214 weeks now on the UK top 100. I wonder how far away some of her other albums are from appearing. Does anyone know if Loud or ANTI are often top 100? I’d hazard a guess that those are the next most streamed. Her discography still does so well and I really think when we get R9 that we’ll see more of her albums appear here and on charts worldwide too.

Ariana Grande - UK Chart Runs, Sales & Discussion
Weekly wise do we know what it’s roughly pulling and if it’s got the highest weekly sales from her pre eternal sunshine albums. I think it’ll likely cross the mark possibly by the end of summer or perhaps earlier if her catalogues been boosted with the new era.

New Gaga music in 2024?
Very much this! Or even June? I actually think she could beat Dua in terms of first week sales as Gaga definitely has more stans and Duas never been a huge first week sales kind of act she tends to just do very well over time but I’d definitely rather not take the risk! The lead single is pretty crucial this time around if we’re only getting one single pre album release. Chromatica thankfully had Rain on Me saved as the second single leading to the album release which I think boosted its streams rather well. Praying she makes a strong choice this time around though. I do feel a bit nervous pre release I always do but when you think about it Gaga pretty much always chooses to release during packed years and this year definitely seems like the year everyone major who’s been on a break is coming back.

Justin Timberlake - Everything I Thought It Was
Not sure how true this is but.. @1769079014931472553 I definitely feel this could’ve done a lot better if it had been released prior to Britney’s book. The music actually isn’t the issue here. However it could be worth remembering for an artist at the stage in their career Justin is he’s probably still going to do well - just not *as* well.
-
Justin Timberlake - Everything I Thought It Was
I personally really enjoyed the album. Maybe a tad too long but nothing stood out as being bad. I think there’s elements of 00s Justin on this album. I’ll give it another listen but Flame did stand out for me as well as No Angels. The N-Sync collaboration sounding exactly like a Saturdays album track (Here Standing) was a surprise. Can’t call how his actual physical / paid sales will be but surely this will be heading for top 5 at worst?

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Could Ariana perhaps be on more with her having more versions of her song (I don’t know if the acapella / strings version) are up on streaming yet but with the standard and slightly deluxe versions? Or is that total her combined figure.
