Caved and got tickets for the show on the 24th! I chanced the queue and it wasn’t quite as bad I thought (sounds like those who tried for the tickets for the first lot of shows had a rougher ride. This will be my first time seeing her and first time going to see a show overseas
  2. An easy #1 debut and very possibly the highest opening sales of the year too. I think it will be in excess of 150k but perhaps falling short of what Midnights managed. It could be higher if there’s a pre album single what takes off but if it’s a we get everything with the album I’m expecting around that figure. I do think she could also manage a #1 single here on release week too as streaming will no doubt be huge but will probably have three tracks inside the top 5 come release week anyways. Finally, I can see why some may feel Taylor’s overexposed to me she’s not quite reached take an immediate break levels yet. In the streaming era where TV and promotion in general isn’t as focused upon you doing well you can easily just choose to not listen to Taylor / follow her releases - you might see them promoted but you can just as easily be unaware. I do think a break will benefit her once her Eras tour and re-recordings are complete though. It’s not quite the same as she wasn’t re-recording past work but Rihanna’s schedule through from 2007 - mid 2013 felt a lot more prominent (particularly from the Rated R release through to mid 2013) but that was in a paid sales era with albums dropping at a quick rate mixed with touring, relentless promo and radio play and also featuring as a guest artist on other releases.
  3. @1754584707348803924 Wonder if this may mean some yes, and? Live performances to tide us over? Definitely here for post album singles though and a nice bit of a campaign. The first listen of this is just over a month away
  4. Yeah album for me was probably the last award I seen her getting. I actually had a hunch that last night she was going to be completely snubbed  It’s a mix match of an album for me. I didn’t necessarily love it as a whole the way I did folklore / evermore but there are some great tracks on there but with the 3am / Til Dawn Editions I think the albums a tad bloated What a night for her though!
  5. Just a way of trying to tear a record breaking woman down. Taylor’s always one of the most engaging artists at award shows towards both newer artists and those who came before her. In a split second I’m sure it wasn’t intentional she’s on live TV, timed to get on / off stage and she just won a record breaking Grammy award too it really wasn’t as though this was backstage and she’d just completely blanked her
  6. Flowers won Record of the Year and Pop Solo performance! Miley now officially a GRAMMY award winner after all these years. Probably my personal highlight of the night. She’s been well overdue an award for years now and to get two on one night - I’m absolutely made up for her  hopefully this is the start of her recognition not even just winning wise but a lot of her finest material not even getting a nomination! Delighted for her and so happy she attended and performed too  @1754314656431083990 @1754359261851684967
  7. Also wins Song of the Year. Her GRAMMY tally now stands at 9! I hope this can get a new US peak but the UK definitely had taste making it a #1. The US run sort of gives Shallow vibes so far. @1754345030951604534
  8. Oh wow. I really wasn’t expecting a completely brand new studio album from her this year. The title is really giving more in the lane of folklore / evermore though which would be perfect for me as her songwriting skills were on fire for both of those albums. I think returning back to a more pop orientated sound as well with Midnights (and also again with 1989 TV) I’m here for another genre providing that’s what the album sound is I’m purely going off title here. Also now thinking ERAs tour might be completely be revamped by the time the UK gets it as there’s now a new era?!
  9. @1754249982184468665 Delighted about this! The best thing to come from BARBIE.
  10. Wow!!! 2X Grammy award winner Kylie Minogue. What an achievement for her to get one in the fifth decade of her career. Genuinely didn’t expect this but delighted :cheer:
  11. I think I’d say Eiffel Tower - Tiffany Air Fryer - Keala Settle Cricket - Simon Webbe Bigfoot - Alex Brooker (I will admit this is the one that I used Twitter for as they’re not a singer so I wouldn’t necessarily have thought this without cheating) Piranha - Danny Jones (This is probably the one I’d say I’m the most sure of)
  12. That’s really not affected it the way I’d imagined at first. Obviously we will see more across the next few weeks to what extent the removal has had but that’s so far so good (hopefully it stays this way). I think with Gaga her classic hits really are classic so TikTok or not should always pull in decent enough streams and I think her overall catalogue should be boosted when we get new material. I think TikTok can only really help her going forward as it is a way of getting streams which equate to chart sales. Let’s hope her team are savvy enough to really make use of Tik Tok as a way of promo for the next era (I’m not too sure re LG7 but I think Joker may get the viral moments what will perhaps give her another streaming smash).
  13. The UK most definitely but may take some sort of push in the US. Chromaticas release got the album as high as #45 I believe in 2020. - maybe when LG7 era begins it could challenge for a UK top 40 return as I think her catalogue streaming is higher now - there’s tracks from this era what are managing to get new peaks now 15 years later
  14. Fishcake gate is one of the most hilarious blunders. And to think that’s the winning team
  15. I love Cheryl but a no to a Cheryl hits medley on this tour (it’s all about the Girls Aloud hits)! Not just a Cheryl solo no but a no to any solo hits (they all did try the solo route at least). I have a feeling this could be their biggest streaming year yet especially when the tour kicks off. It would be good to see some certifications though and a boost of sales for their catalogue.

Confirmed as four shows throughout August in Munich! I’d be so tempted to go but unsure if I’d be able to afford it right now. I imagine her prices will be pretty big (tbf it’s all tours not just her but demand for this will be pretty huge) I am hopeful that we may get a streaming release from the Vegas shows that she’s done though.
  17. A new sales update / estimate would be good! Loud and GGGB were always pretty close on sales here in the UK they were both over the 2m mark but since her Super Bowl performance it’s been Good Girl Gone Bad that’s become quite the chart staple since so I imagine this is probably pushed ahead now by around 100k or so. I think it’s last certification was in 2021 when it went 7x platinum here for 2,100,000 sales. Also this week it’s at #62 in the UK. It’s actually climbed now for the last four weeks. Besides a random week towards the end of 2022 it hadn’t charted since 2012 in the UK until superbowl lead up and now it’s quite the staple (and this is without a studio album as well like when that actually does come it’ll probably stream even better).
  18. A little US update re her albums! Impressive week of streams. @1752283758021968256
  19. 8 years! In some ways it feels like much longer as I had a pretty major life event around the release time of this album yet it also feels way more recent at the same time as I think life has really flown by particularly since the covid era  This is an album that I really didn’t get at first but I replayed it and replayed it and now it is a pretty decent body of work. It’s not my overall favourite from her (I know Rih herself loves it and many critics site it as her best but that’s still Rated R for me). You can definitely hear and tell that Rihanna herself was heavily involved in this album though and her contribution shows. With an album like this too it’s hard to tell where she’s going to go next when we do get R9 (one day).
  20. Brilliant read. Quite the lead with MJ as well in the end! Thanks for this thread! Amazing work. A very worthy winner as well. So the “king” and “queen” of pop actually winning their respective favourite solo act rundowns both times.
  21. A different corner is probably my favourite from George too. I’ve really appreciated him more lately (and Bowie too) but definitely rather see Michael win! A very different top two but two very influential and essential artists at rather opposite ends of the scale.

Can’t quite understand some of these nominations. Happy that Raye is getting recognition and her long awaited flowers. Maybe a BRITS performance could help push those album sales further too. (she’s not a new artist though but those other nominations are deserved). I think she could even get album too since there wasn’t a massive British album last year and Lewis isn’t nominated or Ed?! Artists getting nominated without dropping an album as well (what is the criteria to be nominated you just need to have released a single) it’s hard to keep track  Nice to see females represented though.
  23. So happy to see The Weeknd so high! Happy to see I’m not the only 30 pointer too. By far my favourite current male. So innovative, creative, versatile, talented. A true icon (for me at least). I can’t wait to see where his next era takes us but very happy with that placing especially considering everyone who’s above him have a stellar catalogue and he’s the most recent act within the top 10!
  24. 279 weeks means she’s overtook Jess Glynne debut album on the all time weeks chart (for weeks on the top 100). 51st now of all time (if we do a just studio albums list though it’s actually probably higher I’ll actually check this out but when I’ve had a quick look I believe it’s #25 on the all time list of just studio albums excluding Greatest Hits / Soundtracks). This is for weeks on the top 100 albums in the UK. 300 weeks should be the next milestone now. As of right now these are the only female (studio) albums with more weeks. I think she may well overtake Tracys album at some point this calendar year as her album isn’t as much of a chart staple as the rest in the streaming era. 2014 was the last time that appeared where as the albums below are all appeared on the top 100 this week. Amy Winehouse - Back to Black (544 - combined with deluxe) Adele - 21 (401) Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa (339) Taylor Swift - 1989 (338) Adele - 25 (326) Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (312) Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman (292)
  25. #65 in the UK this week. Another week where it’s climbed! (206 total weeks on top 100)
