Billie Eilish - What Was I Made For?
Winner of Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Billie now a 2x winner! Really hope that Academy Award is hers as well. Can easily see this getting a few more awards too - fully deserved though it’s one of her if not her very best.

Was 2023 the worst year to be a Gaga fan?
For me I’d say 2014 was the year where being a Gaga fan was the hardest what with the hate train towards her. Even with the ARTRave and Cheek to Cheek it was a brutal year especially if you were taking Gaga slander personally the way I did back then. 2023 wasn’t as challenging as that. There may have been no new album or solo single but I enjoyed the Oscar’s performance even more so now stripped back Gaga always wins GP over. Bloody Mary charted top 40. New streaming peaks. It was more a year of locals and stans appreciation of her legacy so far. Wasn’t too bad a year all round. 2024 will be more full throttle even if there’s no LG7 - Joker will be a huge moment and I definitely imagine something musical from Joker will give her a streaming smash.

Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded // 3rd album re-release
On the UK year end charts of 2023 this was at #91. First year end appearance since 2012! And it’s set to return to the charts this week (midweek #69) following the Christmas clear out

UK Albums: Chart Runs and Sales
Messy Little Raindrops screams rush recorded when you look back now. I don’t blame them as Cheryl’s profile was huge then and X Factor was at its peak but it’s definitely her weakest solo album for me. In a way I kinda wish they just re released 3 words as a deluxe and tagged an extra 4-5 songs on there but fair play the album did well I do wish they extended it with another single though but that’s also the case for her A Million Lights album too.

Emmerdale
Definitely didn’t see tonight’s episode going that way but I do think it’s going to give some much needed story time for those characters you mentioned Joseph! Always like it as well when the Dingles aren’t front and centre I think that’s how the Meena storyline (completely different to this story ofc) did so well. Hoping that Cathy’s actress isn’t recast though as her and the actor who played Heath are actually twins in real life.

Streaming, iTunes, Youtube etc statistics thread
Three songs over 1m! See when you’re a legend  2024 set to be another big year for her across streaming sites too especially if we get new music?

The Voice UK • Series 11, ITV
Jen and Liv can and most definitely sing! Being a Geordie I’ve seen them many times busking in Northumberland Street and they really are good (the performance doing rounds on X doesn’t highlight their talents the best way but on their instagram there’s better videos (and the first performance they did on the final). Still insane the final was actually filmed so long before it aired though and it not being live. Pleased to have a different kind of winner I hope they can do *something *.

The Masked Singer • Series 5
From last nights show aside from the unmasking which felt obvious (and a stunt casting of huge icon / name being unmasked first) I feel like the only one that I could distinctly hear was Cricket who’s voice to me was Simon Webbe.

Music predictions 2024
1. Another year of Taylor smashing the albums charts. No new studio album but Rep TV and Taylor Swift TV go to #1 giving her the female record of number one albums. 1989 TV also spends majority of the year inside top ten. 1. (B) Taylor’s debut album (in its original form) also charts in the UK top 40 for the first time. 2. Lady Gaga drops LG7 and it does rather well. It’s promoted more than Chromatica and the album follows a darker sound / aesthetic. 2. (B) Gaga achieves a big streaming hit from the Joker soundtrack. 3. Ariana goes back to more “pop” based sound with AG7. The era performs more along the lines of positions era than thank u, next. 4. Billie Eilish scores another #1 single and album. 5. Billie also wins her second academy award for What was I made for? 6. The UK do “ok” at Eurovision. Ollys single does decently (top 5). We finish on the top side of the leaderboard *just*. 7. SZAS Lana is an entire new album. It does very well! Critically acclaimed. 8. Dua’s album doesn’t perform as well as her debut or future nostalgia but she does score some hits from the album (and it’s then re-released later in the year) the album has an extensive chart run but doesn’t reach #1. 9. Another Dave album that’s both critically acclaimed but very commercially successful. 10. Country music has quite a big year! 11. Post Malone gets a big hit with a country styled single. 12. Harry Styles scores another big era when he returns to music late in the year. 13. Bruno Mars releases a solo album what has a viral esque moment with its lead single. 14. Band Aid 40 (or something similar for the 40th anniversary get Christmas number one). 15. Compilation album release from Celine Dion celebrating her legacy (but also as a goodbye to her fans) 16. Girls Alouds TEN album returns to the top 40 (possibly top 20) during the tour! The re-release continue with What Will The Neighbours Say also returning to the top 40! 17. Greatest Hits style albums continue to clog up the albums charts! 18. We get *something* from Rihanna although it’s still not a full length studio album but we do get a music release of some sort. 19. Lana (as in Lana Del Rey this time) wins her first Grammy award! 20. Justin Bieber releases a new studio album what performs well enough (not to major acclaim though)

One More Sleep is at #29 this week. Would be nice to see it slightly rise next year (it was at #25 this week last year) but I’m pleased it’s managed another four weeks top 40 this year. 30 weeks top 40 now! Hopefully will return again next year even if it’s within the 31-40 region it’s still become a modern staple. Kiss Me It’s Christmas also enters this week at #87 (a new peak). Next year I’d love to see the Christmas album itself re enter the charts it’s never actually reentered since 2013 but it must still stream decently through December I suppose? Get Mr Right onto playlists next year to give her a third Christmas streamer and cement her as the UKs Christmas queen

Buzzjack's Favourite Male Solo Act
I just happened to watch John Lennons documentary re his murder on Apple TV earlier on today. I’d gotten into his music earlier on in the year as I noticed The Weeknd had referenced him a few times with the Idol soundtrack. I’m excited to delve more into it as what I did hear I did really enjoy. Taken far too soon from us.

Between Us • 12th Nov 2021
Longevity wise they really did do rather well especially to get the whole top 3 based on chart weeks here in the UK. I’d be so intrigued to see a list (like a top 20/40) just based on weeks on the chart. Streamings obviously worked within their favour but impressive still. I wonder where this will rank on the year end chart as it’s never actually left the chart has it?

Buzzjack's Favourite Male Solo Act
Zayn is probably my favourite off 1D if I just go off vocals alone. I still enjoy his first era as a whole album listen and he’s had tracks I’ve liked from other eras and features since. I definitely rate Post Malone amongst the best males of today as well. Hes very talented, really good voice and quite varied too so im excited to see where he heads next. Cant say I’m huge on Capaldi though. I think pretty much every song of his sounds exactly the same but it’s more his actual vocal what’s difficult for me to enjoy past a few tracks. Not the most interesting performer either.

EastEnders
Linda being the killer was a real dream of mine I’d manifested it and hoped it would be her the most of all the 6. Amazing choice for the killer but Keanu being the real body was a shock I’d sort of ruled him out with Karen leaving already and I’d imagined him getting arrested so him being the body was a shock but what a way to go (and maybe him appearing again as a shock last Christmas may have been a hint it was a year contract and he was convinced back for this story). Brilliant twist with the flashforward body actually being alive as well. I’d knew Jack was just a red herring to all this and it was never going to be Phil! but Nish / Dean were the two names I’d have said it’s either/or for the body.

EastEnders
I still wouldn’t put it past EE to have either the killer be someone not in the 6 or the body be someone not in the suspects. But then there’s the option of potentially two bodies. There’s absolutely no way Phil Mitchell is leaving. It would never be able to be kept quiet and Steve McFadden wouldn’t get an exit like this either I don’t think I think when that time comes it will be more of a Peggy esque death or alcohol related. Dean / Nish feel most likely for the death id say if it definitely is someone in the suspects promo it’s more the killer in leaning to think could be someone else. I think ive ruled Stacey out as the killer because twice on Christmas Day in the vic would be a bit much even for our Stace  Denise being the one holding the bottle too makes me think she isn’t the killer either. I’m going to give another watch to the episode and attempt at making a final decision just to see how off I am. Back in February I said Lily killing Ryan but that’s definitely not happening as soon as the next episode anyway

House of Gucci
It could be available on iPlayer for something to watch over the festive period! I have it on DVD but I might give it another watch. Unrelated but I’ve always found with House of Gucci her acting is faultless but I think it would’ve worked so much better as a TV series rather than a movie.

yes, and? • 1st single
It doesn’t at all feel like 3+ years since positions! I do miss her though and feel like she’s now taken a substantial break to smash when she returns. When you think from no tears left to cry though to the end of 2020 we were really well fed with three whole albums plus many collaborations inbetween. The wicked era has probably really made her vocals even better perhaps and might have an impact on the music for the new solo album? I’m definitely here though!

House of Gucci
BBC 2 are showing this at 9pm tonight in the UK!
