1 more week and this will be on 100 weeks top 40 in the UK!

RAYE - THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.
This albums chart run has been really impressive? #6 in week 4! Brilliant by 2026 standards and this week we had quite a few new entries charting ahead. I can see it getting a few more weeks top ten.

Herbs Ranks the 2008 #1's
I’ve really loved stumbling across these from months ago and just wish I seen them at the time! 2008 has some great #1s but the Ting Tings track is genuinely amongst my worst songs ever 😆. Duffy takes the crown for me on this chart year (and Warwick Avenue also deserved #1 too. Rockferry is a stellar album and still an album I love in its whole now. I’m torn between Coldplay, Girls Aloud and Leona for my other favourite #1 here! I did absolutely love So What at the time but prefer much of the Funhouse album now and think P!nk has far stronger what didn’t top the chart but this was her first solo US #1 at least! Run is one of my favourite ballads and I love both versions although Leonas just edges it like what a vocal and when she did it live I still remember it now both on X Factor and Live Lounge surely still the best ever live lounge performance.

Jim ranks the 2009 UK #1s
I remember stanning Pixie back in 2009 and she did pretty well getting two #1s pretty close together. I think Cry Me Out is probably her best track overall these days (this is kinda. 2009 #1s theme with artists getting #1s with tracks not quite up to what they’re capable of. Kelly Clarkson sole UK #1 is nowhere near what she’s capable of but I was at the time pretty happy that she finally managed to get a chart topper to her name. Cascada being the artist who stopped the king of pop getting posthumous #1 too is genuinely so camp and one of my favourite things only real chart stans would know but again I don’t think Evacuate the Dancefloor is amongst their best! When Love Takes Over is top tier Guetta though and Fight for This Love is genius what a song for when Cheryl’s princess diana era over here was in full force crazy it did so much sales for a non charity track too but she really was our sweetheart then and that performance too! I’m laughing looking at how dominant X Factor was at this list with many tracks either being X Factor acts or tracks performed on the live shows (or both!) how times have changed. My main shock here so far was where Bad Boys was rated I expected alexandra to do pretty well on this site. Many tracks here at the time as a teen I loved but I can’t remember the last time I ever played the Tinchy or Dizzee tracks but the JLS tracks are kind of a guilty pleasure and they definitely produced some worse #1s with future eras too. Godga to dominate the top end please.

Scene ranks the 2007 #1s
A bit late here but what a read this was! I actually had the same top 3 as well but Bleeding Love would’ve been my #1. 2007 was a great year to be a chart stan!

"Umbrella" (feat. Jay-Z) // 1st Single
I’ve genuinely never put two and two together until that 🫠 my innocent mind?! This is still the ultimate Rihanna song for me though it’s never gotten old and I still play it very regularly. I think you could argue We Found Love might be bigger these days but I think was the hit what made her an icon and transformed her career into putting her on the A-List map where she’s remained since. Also… 10 weeks at #1?! On sales only has any other track done this since I know we’ve had many a long running #1 since but I know streaming’s been to thank for a lot of those staying at the top. (As sales are way lower) but I’m curious!

I could’ve given so many 11s here but at this point I’m happy with what got the 11! Genuinely one of my favourite albums ever ❣️

What other Madonna album would you like a sequel to?
It’s between Ray of Light and Music for me. Her creative peak was during the 1998-2005 album run for me personally. Like A Prayer is my second favourite album of hers after ROL but it’s tricky seeing how those can be followed up but I feel like the Music era could actually work as the original was futuristic and fresh even by today’s standards. A ROL a follow up if it was anything like the OG would be a dream but that era was her vocal peak and I don’t know how her voice would fare on an album with instrumentals like that in 2026 or in future (but you never know!).

Friday Chart Predictions
Jessie’s just announced via her X/Twitter that there’s a £4.99 version of the album available with bonus tracks (via her store). Looks like she’s putting a fight in! Would be interesting to see if Skindred also go for it too to make it a bit of a battle. I wouldn’t been where mad at ZAYN doing it he’s the best 1D member after Harry for me.

Mariah Carey
Rogue choice here but Love Takes Time has always been one of my favourites and it’s UK peak is criminal!

Friday Chart Predictions
Id like to Jessie Ware get herself a #1 album! Of the contenders I think she’s the most likely to benefit from a push on socials / a pride reduction if it comes to this too. She’s got signings too so I think it could go out in her favour?!

Least Fave Lady Gaga Single Round 10
Stupid Love again gets my vote!

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
Tour begins again tonight in Mexico City (and not long until the EU/UK shows). I need to give the album another full listen at some point but I still return to cry for me, open hearts, take me back to LA and the title track pretty often. I wish Runaway was added to the streaming edition of the album though that was one of my favourite tracks (it is on one of the CDs but not on streaming)!

Friday Chart Predictions
Michael the biopic premiers this week so we may see boosts for the likes of Thriller, Bad and Off The Wall and whatever hits collection they decide to award streams too (I presume it’ll be The Essential) but there’s also a soundtrack to the album being released too.

Friday Chart Predictions
Could Jessie Ware perhaps do it if the gays and theys get behind and stream?! She has quite a loyal fanbase depending on how close it is.. although maybe she’ll settle for another top 3 which would still be a success. I need to listen to the Jessie and ZAYN albums!

Olivia Rodrigo - drop dead
drivers license and vampire hit me harder way more initially on first listens as lead singles but this is is still pretty decent in its own right. I think it could grow but I prefer a lot of her other tracks to this on first listen. I do appreciate that it is different for her though in terms of production and I do kinda welcome a new #1 too (if this gets there that is…) I definitely am here for the rest of the album though SOUR inpaticular was a very strong album and GUTS had plenty on there that I return too as well so I’m keen to see how the rest of the album fares. I hope the second single is stronger but quite a few recent female albums have had the follow up being bigger than the “lead” (eternal sunshine with we can’t be friends), MAYHEM with Abracadabra as of the top of my head examples).

Vanish Into You ● 1st promotional single
This and Shadow of a Man are MAYHEMs best tracks. But this is the one what’s so special and I genuinely believe we’d have had a real hit with this had it gotten a push. (There’s still hope for a Cruel Summer esque situation on a smaller scale but I think How Bad Do U Want Me is the one most likely for that) x

Casualty
A great episode last night and very very sad but important viewing. Kim was such a great character that I wish we seen more of her but credit to the actress for agreeing to take this role (I presume now that she was aware she was a short term character specially brought in to die). I hope the next block of episodes isn’t set too far from the last episode that it’s completely just forgotten that’s my only concern but I thought it was such a good episode last night. From the top of my head it’s only the second time we’ve seen a death as a result of an eating disorder on a long running show (Hollyoaks did it way back in 2007 but I can’t think of another character who’s actually died as a result of one until Kim last night). Also really hoping next boxset we see more of Nicole and Jodie. Nicole especially has felt quite underused on this set of 12 eps but I think the spotlight may shift next boxset and characters who were perhaps more in supporting roles will get more screen time.

I Feel So Free ● promo single
With repeated listens I do like this! It works as an album intro and i definitely see this opening the tour if we’re lucky enough to get one. It’s catchy enough that it’s sticking in my head BUT i will say that I hope the spoken interlude parts on this track aren’t something what’s on the majority of the album… I do think this is very reminiscent of Future Lovers though especially how Future Lovers sounded as the intro track to Confessions tour! Looking at socials this era seems to have real hype though from people I’ve not seen mention Madonna before so I hope it translates to sales and streams (and also hope it pushes the original Confessions too)

The Mayhem Ball 2025-2026
Indeed! I think it’s my favourite Gaga tour and live project to date too. Perfect execution of everything that’s both “Lady” and “Gaga” about her brought together so perfectly! And a story told throughout the show as well. It’s her only show I’ve been lucky enough to see twice and both shows felt so different she was a lot more emotional on stage in NYC for final night (but the crowd were more crazy in Amsterdam maybe a European crowd thing or bc I was VIP there…) that in no way took away from how amazing the final show was though! It was a perfect experience as a super fan and seeing what may be her last live performance in terms of a tour for however long felt like a must! Highlights for me final night was Poker Face, Born This Way, the entire piano section!! The vocals!!,Vanish Into You the emotion of the encore / bow of Always Remember Us This Way and Marry The Night, (Bad Romance as always too!!). To top of my Gaga experience too I mentioned this to Haus but I actually went to Joanne restaurant in NYC and I met Gaga’s real dad!! (He was also at the show) he chatted away for a little while (tea I got from was Edge of Glory is his favourite Gaga song (she also performed this at the final show and he confirmed the whole family attended), hes proud of the Joanne album (I mentioned my favourite albums by her and he responded with that). I also was asking him about collaborators he’s met who’ve worked with Gaga and he said his favourites were Bruno and Tony! (I expected a Tony mention but he was a big fan of Bruno Mars and he dropped into conversation as he’s actually my next concert now!) He didn’t speak much about her actual life my mam was asking him about Michael 🫠 BUT he was very friendly may friendlier than i thought he would be and when we were talking about her music / the tour he was responsive! Only wish i asked for another photo as my mam took a picture of the wall instead of a photo of me and him before she realised who it was I was too scared to ask for another one!

What’s the context behind this vote 😆

Runway (with Doechii) • Soundtrack single
I wonder if the movie will actually do anything for this? I did envisage some TikTok potential for this but without a viral moment I don’t think it’ll have major legs. Still happy it at least went well top 40 though stans did that.
