i think it makes an important impact to debut top 10, but the song doesn’t need it. i also think it can get back there with time. it’s already very impressive to be within reach of top 10 without the physicals and without a music video - who would have predicted that? also can’t forget that it was a very competitive week to release; especially, for female pop singers. she would have debuted top 10 and probably with higher streams if released the week prior. the song is already stable and top 10 on AM but should have no issue increasing on spotify again as it grows on HHUK. music video today and extended mix, vinyls and cassettes still to ship. just a shame that taylor will wash her far out of the top 50 on spotify today - timing hasn’t been her friend :)

yikes at them still not playlisting Maneskin. as an act, they are literally perfect for R1. they have an authentic rock ‘edge’ and multiple viral songs. not to mention a massive social media presence already. the early global success is completely undeniable and transcends anything that eurovision hype alone could garner. what are they waiting for? I’d understand snubbing the cover of Beggin’ and their eurovision entry as that isn’t in english, but wanna be your slave is a no brainer to add to the playlist and has been for weeks. now that it’s top 10 on the UK official chart I don’t understand what the hold up is.

yeah, kind of interesting. i could have seen the rise to fame on tik tok further alienating him from the playlist. kind of like when some stars see a resurge in popularity through reality tv, but their music career and subsequent singles just becomes even more irrelevant on radio.

any signs of early airplay for WAP? did radio 1 even play the clean version during the chart update, for example? the song obviously couldn’t be less radio-friendly lol

i know that heart is famously late with everything, but did they play stupid love? just strikes me as a song that they would pick up instantly by an artist they like, as does rain on me.

How much did Bounce Back get played on Capital for Little Mix? I noticed that the new single Break Up Song has only been played once today and that was when Jade did an interview for the breakfast show this morning. Break Up Song is number 1 on the big top 40 and they are still posting articles all over their homepage and social media about Little Mix so I don't understand what is going on. Power has even been played once today randomly too which makes it even more weird. I am really wondering what happened when they broke off with Syco.

They are performing at the global awards too which capital obviously keeps banging on about and makes it even more odd

it's pretty sad actually given he is a UK artist and the song was such a giant hit. More so, it turned into a big international hit too. The song isn't some massive outlier in terms of the general sound of the station, as it's actually very pop. Definitely far more in-keeping when you consider the fact they are playing the Panic! At The Disco track at the moment.

i heard them play taste this week and could have sworn they had snubbed it so was a bit surprised glad i'm not going crazy ;)
