    Ben's UK Singles Top 10 Prediction Game

    Round 10 - *BONUS ROUND*

    Welcome back in 2009! The game is simple: you have to predict next weeks top 10. If YOU are the closest to the real top 10 you will gain the maximum points!

     

    The scoring: The number of places you are away from the real chart positions is all added up, and the players are ranked, so the person with the least number of points is 1st, and then 2nd etc.

    The scores are changed this year: the points aren't depending from now on on the number of players. The first receives 30, the second 29, the third 28 ... until the 30th player, who gets 1 point. If there are more players, they can't get any points (only bonus points). If there are ties the points for first and second etc. will be shared (pts for 1st place + pts for 2nd place / 2 (depending on how many players are tied).

     

    New bonus round: every 5th round is a bonus round, where you can get double points but you have to predict the whole singles top 20! if You're the closest you earn 60 points, the second 58, the third 56 ... the 30th (last) gets 2 points.

     

    - You can get extra points if you answer 3 bonus questions. The first question is always the most difficult, therefore if you answer correctly you can get 5 extra more points. For the second correct answer you can get 3 more extra points and for the third 2 more extra points so a total of 10 more extra points!

     

    - In the bonus rounds (every 5th round) you have to answer 6 questions to earn more points!!!

     

    - You must give the correct name of the artist and at least the beginning of the title of the song. For example:

    - If your vote contain two songs for the same place or a place is missing, the vote won't be valid!

    - Therefore: You can predict a 21st song if you're not sure one of the predicted songs are chart eligible or will be released that week. If that song gets cancelled or is disqualified (NCQ) the 21st song will count. (But only in this case!) (Like Oasis - Falling Down) Please be clear in what position that song should be! (Any questions about the rules, contact me!)

    Tim Toupet had already a top 10 hit in the last carnival season with "Ich bin ein Döner" ;)

     

    Queensberry failed thanks to the record label's weird release strategy. Their first single back in December right after the end of the TV show was only released digitally and not applied for the charts. It sold pretty well on iTunes and Musicload and would have been Top 10 for sure. Well, at least their album made it into the Top 10 for 3 weeks.

    Ash do you know which download sites are the biggest in Germany? As far as I know iTunes are nowhere near as big as in the UK.

    You always start liking an artist a lot, and then you get bored of them! I swear that you were being rude about Girls Aloud a few weeks ago, and now you think you know everything about them! :blink:
