Ne_Yo Closer - A Future No1?
It deserves to be, it's a great song! Haven't liked any of his other singles apart from Because of You. Do You in particular was really bland.

The Hollyoaks Thread...
Yeah, it's been far too long since they last had late night episodes! The last ones were in 2006 I think. The ones with the drug rape storyline were really good.

Robyn - Who's That Girl
Thanks. It did a Lucie Silvas then! It's so frustrating when albums peak just outside the top ten :P

British Soap Awards
I read somewhere that it averages just over 2 million viewers an episode, which sounds a bit more realistic! So pleased that Hollyoaks won so many awards. I have to agree with Shameless though. I think Chris is one of the best actors on the show, but would have been more deserving of the award in previous years.

Robyn - Who's That Girl
That's not too bad, considering the singles after WEH weren't huge hits. What was it's peak position?

The charts of 2000 at this time: 5/6/2000
I used to love that Lene Marlin song  It's funny to see the difference between the charts in 2000 and nowadays in the download era. Look how few songs had been in the top 75 for more than a couple of months!

Official top 100 singles of the decade so far
Thanks for posting, was surprised to see Scissor Sisters so high up the chart. I only like about 10 of these songs! Toxic had sold 258,000 by the end of 2004 so it was some way off making the list, despite being one of the top 10 sellers of the year.

Past Single Choices
It is! I actually much prefer it to Since U Been Gone! I would have chosen: Thankful Miss Independent You Thought Wrong The Trouble With Love Is Anytime Breakaway Since U Been Gone Behind These Hazel Eyes Breakaway Gone My December Never Again How I Feel Be Still Can I Have A Kiss

Why isn't Beverley huge?
It is quite annoying that she hasn't had the success she deserves. She has has had a lot of critical acclaim and achieved longevity though. How many other female British singers have managed to sustain a 13 year career? I think superbossanova had a very valid point about Bev not having had the same hype behind her that a lot of other artists have had. That hype doesn't always lead to a long career, for example, where is Shola Ama now? She was really hyped but flopped after her first album. It's funny cos a lot of people regard Bev as an "album's artist" but her album sales haven't been great really. Her most successful studio album 'Who I Am' sold around 250k.

New single announcement!
Footprints In The Sand is my fave off the album  Better In Time is really good too. I think I must be one of the few who doesn't want Take A Bow to be released.

Nightmare On Elm Street
I agree, that was actually a pretty decent remake. Most of the other recent remakes (Halloween, Amytiville Horror, The Fog etc) have been awful :(
