Deborah Gibson doesn't sound right! As a Deborah myself there does come a stage in every Deb's development where you have to move on from Debbie, especially with the whole 'Debbie Does Dallas' stigma . . . !!! Deborah (Debbie) Harry did it. But 'Deborah' Gibson???

I like his style, I think he's fair, he gets all sides of the story and tries to understand. I think it takes a lot of guts to challenge people in the way he does, and he isn't one-sided, he doesn't see one side as the perpetrator and another as the victim, he uses a more balanced reasoning and points out the issues on both sides. It takes a big person to stand up and be counted like that, especially with some of the t**ts that go on there - and yes, sometimes JK comes across like a bit of a t**t himself, but fair play to him. Much better than the 'oh, so you were a prostitute at 13 but now you've got a boob job and become a glamour model and turned your life around so go and skip off into the sunset with your slightly dodgy looking boyfriend' approach.

"Coffee behemoth" Talk about stretching a brand . . . next stop trains, planes and broadband packages . . . "the 8.15 Starbucks Express to London Euston" . . . and at nearly 3 quid for a cup of coffee will they be retailing Alanis's next CD for £29.99? Grande Caramel Macchiatio with cream though . . . love Starbucks for the intense caffeine and sugar hit . . . it's an-upper-in-a-mug!

CD Albums Gwen Stefani - Love, Angel, Music, Baby (I'm playing catch up because I love The Sweet Escape album so much) Kaiser Chiefs - Employment (requested by my ma for Mother's Day - she's just bought Yours Truly, Angry Mob) Ray Quinn - (for my ma - but also a sneaky copy for myself!!!) CD Singles Calvin Harris - Acceptable in the 80's   btw, Ray was 3 quid more in HMV than Virgin - thievin' rob dogs!

Oooh, I hadn't seen the official cover yet. Thanks for posting that

I've just found out that BBC2 are running a series of short films about the NHS, and each one has been created using a different Coldplay track as the theme! I haven't seen them yet, but someone I know has the first one on tape. This is uncanny timing, but may bode well :)

Kinda scary though too, that level of mass propaganda - like something out of Animal Farm or 1984 :o

The Eurovision has ALWAYS been political, countries still obviously vote for their allies and blatantly ignore the best entry if it's from a country they've had any kind of clash with. And Terry Wogan doing his crazy commentary and trying to be diplomatic about it  This is a really good thread. It's the first time I have EVER seen an interesting and informed discussion as a result of an article in The Sun! oh, and GO MIKA! :cheer:

Well there may be a baby theme but we're all interpreting the theme differently. Yours is great djcharly

Oh ok - I've seen this advertised, but I don' t think it comes across that there's some better stuff than would usually be on this kind of this kind of compilation. You want a top ten from the list, yes?

 I actually have this single. I have a horrible feeling they were deadly serious, (I remember them doing an interview on The Big Breakfast), but I bought it in a delicious act of post-post-modern irony.

 Particularly liking that you have Tori in there (personal goddess) and Edie Brickell, although Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars was never quite the same for me after Emma Bunton got her little baby mits on What I Am. I'd probably pay around a tenner for it - nice handy compilation for the car, though I'd have to swerve to avoid Nine Million Bicycles. It would probably depend on the marketing as it would need to get my attention before I read the full track listing. I'd like to see what the cover looked like . . .

That's criminal.

These posts will help though! Everything counts! And I can read them back in my daily digest when it gets e-mailed to me!

I get a Buzz Jack daily digest from forums e-mailed to me so I can catch up on stuff. And the new topic daily digest I get from the Morrissey / Smiths Forum only usually has one or two new entries in it. Maybe that's why you're 46th in the OF chart!

Maybe my comprehensive Buzz Jack daily digest can shed some light as to why . . .   snowbaby, This your daily new topics digest! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Forum: Morrissey and The Smiths Forum ===================================== ------------------------------------------- Topic: Optional Forum League (This Charming Man -- Yesterday, 06:21 PM) ............................................ 46th :P bottom lol ===================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The forum can be found here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showforum=93 Unsubscribing: -------------- You can unsubscribe at any time by logging into your control panel and clicking on the "View Subscriptions" link. Only 2 top 20 entries from 'Back in the Day' . . . it's hardly ultimate, is it? Did they do a more complete top 75 or something, I would be interested to know what other tracks were in the running and where they came.

Here's mine. Have been listening to the track for inspiration. http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/snowbabyneedslove/babyfratelli.jpg

Doesn't the guitar riff in Baby Fratelli sound like a Fratellied version of Smells Like Teen Spirit though? Maybe that's why it's so catchy/familiar? Go on . . . go and listen to them both together!

Don't change it! I like it. I think it's cute

 And I haven't even bought my copy yet. Ooh, his cheeky-chops little face  Never mind, it'll join Alex from Fame Academy's album in my own bargain bin by next week. I'm such a sucker

Surprised myself and went for Nelly

:o At least tell me you use your visual / design skills somewhere though, please . . . for the love of god, if you don't you surely need to have a rethink?

 I am loving this already and I haven't even starting looking for an image yet! This is such a great choice Mikey, and is producing some great stuff - we've even got Manga in here. And I love Sabby's interpretation.

;) You're alright mate . . . you should have posted it as 'the controversial Wurzels thread' !
