:wub: thank you. Although my post didn't specifically mention you, I thought/hoped you would come along and comment given your expertise in the area. Cowell doesn't have a writing credit does he? Or law suit credit for inventing the key change? Still, the whole thing structure wise is very unusual. I'm struggling to think of another song that follows a similar structure. :unsure:

Surprised u think that given ur clear love for the track. Seriously though, it's really unusual and makes the song stand out. In a good way :P

Can anyone tell me the song structure that LOT uses? After the first verse, it just sounds like one long mahoosive chorus which progressively changes up a key in 4 or 5 distinct steps. Most unusual, or maybe it's just my ears :o

Its inherent due to the years upon years of mimed performances on high--profile shows throughout the 90's and early 00's. Thankfully shows like X Factor and Pop Idol, much to many people's annoyance, have started to change that, where mimed performances are now routinely derided rather than just generally accepted as "that's what we're used to".

Not surprised Pixie has had no effect from her DoI peformance - I'm struggling to think of anyone who can actually perform worse, maybe Goldie from X Factor but at least there is some kind of entertainment value there. And boo at SHM knocking Beyoyo out of the top 10 - is this destined to never go top 10 officially? :( Hopefully it can start to climb again and along with Kelly knock Avicii and Taio out of the top 10.
