iTunes Chart: April 2011 (II)
Yeah, I agree with that starting from the perspective of last Friday before we heard it and I'm sure like you say almost everyone thought it would hit the #1 spot on iTunes and probably still be there right now. What I was meaning though was looking at it from the perspective of it peaking at #2 on iTunes on Saturday. The subsequent drop from then to where it is now is what was expected, based on experience of other songs.

iTunes Chart: April 2011 (II)
I hope it does. I'm going to go against all my instincts and be 100% sure that I don't have to listen to it to know that it is a big stinking pile of turd. Well, yes, I suppose, but I don't really like either of them tbh.

Oh dear god Rangers have released a single. Hopefully it doesn't contain anything naughty otherwise another European body might stick their oar in

Has GaGa even had the 18 million or so audience impressions at radio that Fast Car got from one airing on BGT? Has GaGa had the visual of the performance and the storyline to go with Judas that BGT gave Fast Car? Looks like another top 5 hit for Jessie J with NP.

What degree of validity would you place on the rumour?

Is GaGa's video out tomorrow?

iTunes Chart: April 2011 (II)
Disagree, its release was brought forward so there will be a number of people who expected it out on Tuesday that aren't aware it is out yet. In contrast, the BTW premiere/release date was set in stone months in advance and the track actually appeared on that date. Even with a similar amount of publicity (which I don't agree it has actually had), that won't have corrected any deficit arising from it being brought forward. I think the problem with the song is that it isn't as instant or catchy as BTW. Which should mean it will have a longer chart run than BTW. Both BTW and Judas sound like Madonna songs to me, or at the very least, more retro sounding songs than ANYTHING of The Fame/Monster. Both still sound like GaGa/Madonna songs.

Actually, it hasn't really; its generally been around 23-27% away from the #20 spot and just looks closer than it is because the pop bars are small down there. Come on Fast Car get into the top 10 again!!! :(

I'm also revising my prediction from yesterday that Judas would chart between #16-#20 officially this week, to now charting between #21-#25 this week; at a guess I would say #23.

Why are people (other than Danny's post above) surprised that Judas is dropping?! It was entirely what was expected based on previous performance of tracks released immediately at practically the same time as their radio premiere - Born This Way did it, both the Britney tracks did it, that H.A.M. track did it ... And anyway, Judas isn't as instant as BTW, so will probably have a more prolongued chart run than BTW. Also, GaGa clearly has the potential for 1 million+ sales in her locker (obviously this may not happen with Judas) but if it does, then Judas could still potentially get back to #1 easily once radio/TV play kicks in. Anyway, looks like Tracy Chapman and Wretch will knock Adele and Rihanna out the top 10 on iTunes, at least for the time being (as Tracy will start to fall come Monday so whoever is @ #11 at that point will get back in - could be any of Adele, Rihanna, Nicole, Cee Lo or Kanye).

I think wretch have it in the bag this week. Gaga is about to plummet and won't pick up until the video is out in Tuesday (that's if it does actually come out, these things are always subject to change). Even if it does come out on Tuesday, I think LMfAO will be outselling her by at least 2.5:1 by that point, with Wretch possibly even further ahead, and I can't see the video providing enough if a boost to reverse that.

Given Lady G is at 70% of the #1, and that she will probably by the end of today not be far away from 100%, that will mean she's outselling Kanye/Cee Lo by approx 5:1. Based on that, and the fact she's only been available for 30ish hours, I don't think she'll have accumulated enough sales to overtake either of them (or Adele for that matter who with RITD is probably close to being level with them on sales for the week to date). With that in mind, I think GaGa will chart between #16-#20 this week.

As was I, we must have been using different versions of the livepopbars feed.

iTunes Chart: April 2011 (II)
If you're using Rihanna @ #8, then she must have fallen back because the bars I have have her at #7, which gives the following:- Katy Perry #3 49.3477 #49 4.8961 #93 2.6413 Total 56.8851 Rihanna #7 40.0064 #19 14.1408 #80 3.2372 Total 57.3844

No, #3 as I did combine Katy Perry originally. K-Pez has 49.42% combining all 3 of her versions; whereas S&M has 54.18% combining all 3 of Rihanna's versions.

if they're released on a Monday, then they would first get their full 48 hours into their pop bar on Tuesday 11:59pm (but really Wednesday mid-day or maybe even evening) on the basis that the first 12/18 hours on Monday comprise little sales as most people are at school/work. Songs always then increase a little bit more as (a) they become more visible as they're higher up the iTunes chart, and (b ) the Sunday sales effect is lost from the older songs pop bars (this last part starts on Tuesday as they lose their Sunday sales and start to drop down, an effect which is cumulative and compounds throughout the week until the following weekend comes around early Friday) which results in them dropping down the iTunes chart and making way for newer releases, until the aforementioned weekend effect kicks in.

iTunes Chart: April 2011 (II)
Its because you're comparing it to a Wednesday 1.08pm update. All album tracks (inlcuding Now tracks) peak around mid-day Thursday and then begin to drop. But because you're comparing now to Wednesday, you're effectively looking at either side of the peak, and the songs would still be in the ascendency on Wednesday (on the left side of the curve) as opposed to now (on the right side).
