Hadly surprising, given that they were both from different sales climates (2007 vs. 2010). You, of all people, should know that :P

From TW's drop on iTunes today, I'd say they're now out of the running bar a miracle on their part. So, its definitely between Adele and Nicole for the #1 spot this week. I think Nicole will get it as even although Adele is closing, Nicole is, at the moment, still stretching her lead by a significant margin. That lead will have been sustained for 5.8/7ths of the week by the time Adele performs on Comic Relief (assuming Adele doesn't overtake on iTunes until then), which will mean that any lead Adele builds up after Comic Relief will need to be 4.8 times [5.8/(7-5.8)] the lead that Nicole averaged over Adele from Sunday 00:01 - Friday 8pm (if that's when Adele overtakes) AND sustained through to close of play on Saturday 11:59pm. Which would be extremely difficult to do and require a massive pop bar from Adele. I can't see it happening on the official charts this week, but I think Adele may be back to #1 on iTunes after Comic Relief.

I know what you mean Jonjo. Lee – you can’t compare TW’s pop bar size against The Saturday’s pop bar size and deduce that TW will get less than 60k sales, for the following reasons:- 1. Nothwithstanding points 2 and 3 below, and as Jonjo says, the sales climate 2 years ago was not as healthy as the sales climate today, therefore a 100% pop bar now would sell more than a 100% pop bar 2 years ago (and by a significant margin, I would estimate approx 40-50%). 2. The pop bars are relative measures against how well other songs are selling, not an absolute measure. What that means is that if e.g. the #2 is selling 50k a week and the #1 pop bar is double the #2 pop bar for the whole week, then the #1 would sell 100k. However, if the #2 was selling 30k, then the same pop bar for the #1 would only result in 60k sales. Therefore, whilst The Saturdays managed “only” 60k despite having the #1 pop bar for most of the week, they were beating a #2 pop bar which was selling 55k. However, TW are already beating that as they’re ahead of a #3 pop bar which last week sold 95k and this week will probably sell 75-80k if its pop bar relativity stayed at the same level all week. 3. iTunes commands a different share of the market now than it did in 2009.

Yeah I'm the same. The Wanted have been hammered on all the radio stations I listen to (Capital Scotland, Forth One, Radio 1) and it seems like its been on all the bloody time (not joking). On the contrary, I heard Nicole's song for the first time driving home on Thursday, on Radio 1. And that's been it. That makes me think that initially, as far as the week goes, The Wanted will be more front loaded than Nicole. Therefore unless TW have huge physicals early on (i.e. >10k by Thursday, which is possible but IMO unlikely in this climate, even with a charity single as its not the "tangent" CR single a la Peter Kay) then Nicole will be in the lead on Tuesday and increasing, or at the very least maintaining that lead, right through to the Friday mids. That will put on one hell of a fight for the last 28ish hours after TW perform on CR on Friday night. Even Adele could muster a shot as (a) she will be more consistent throughout the week than both TW and Nicole as she's been @ #1 for 4 weeks; and (B) her performance is actually likely to have more of an effect on her iTunes pop bars than The Wanted's will. I can't call it right now; I'm hoping Nicole gets it but its waaay too early to tell. If she has a pop bar approx 30-40% ahead of TW by c.o.p. tomorrow she has a chance. You're not alone. I thought the exact same thing. Epic fail for me too  Eh? :o Your first sentence is completely contradicted by your last. Why did The Saturday's not have a CR performance that year? To quote superbossanova (I think):- die hard [/bray]

Spiidey's Chart Singles Prediction Game
Spiidey's Chart Singles Prediction Game Chart Sunday 20th March 2011 :cheer: :yahoo:  :cheer: WEEK 11 IN 2011!!! The predictions are broken down into two sections:- SECTION A In this section, you will predict where 14 songs are going to be in the following Sunday's Top 75 chart. In this section, you should predict for each song a position between 1 and 75 based on where you think that song will chart within the Top 75. If you think the song will chart outside the top 75 (i.e. position 76 or lower) you should use the notation "75+". The point scoring for these 14 songs is:- 10 pts if spot on with your prediction (therefore a maximum of 140 points to play for in this section);9 pts if your prediction is out by 1 position, 8 pts if your prediction is out by 2 positions, down to 1 pt if your prediction is out by 9 positions and zero points if your prediction is out by 10 or more positions; If you think a song will not make the Top 75, you can predict that song to be 75+ (i.e. any position outwith the top 75). If this is correct, you will get 5 points; If a song charts in a position between 76-84 (e.g. 77), and you have predicted that song to chart at a position between 67-75 (e.g. 70), you will still score the "normal" points - in the example given, you would score 3 pts;If a new single is pulled from release or non-chart eligible then everyone's prediction for that question will be void and everyone will be awarded 5 points;Due to physical singles sales declining I have scrapped the old rule of awarding points should the physical release be postponed so long as the download release goes ahead as scheduled.+ SECTION B In this section, you will predict the answer to THREE bonus questions (by answering i., ii., iii. or iv. for question 1, and "Yes" or "No" for questions 2 and 3). Each bonus question is worth 20 Pts (therefore giving a maximum of 60 points from this section). Therefore there will be a maximum of 200 Points [140 points in Section A, and 60 points in Section B] to gain. ============================================================ THE PREDICTIONS:- Sales Period: Sunday 13th March – Saturday 19th March SECTION A Avril Lavinge – What The Hell Britney Spears – Till The World Ends Chipmunk ft. Keri Hilson – In The Air Dr Dre ft. Eminem & Skylar Grey – I Need A Doctor George Michael – True Faith Glee Cast – Welcome Christmas Kanye West – All Of The Lights Ke$ha – Blow N-Dubz – Morning Star Take That – Happy Now The Black Eyes Peas – Just Can’t Get Enough Tiesto & Diplo ft. Busta Rhymes – C’Mon (Catch ‘Em By Surprise) Trey Songz ft. Nicki Minaj – Bottoms Up Wheatus – Teenage Dirtbag SECTION B Bonus #1: Who will be higher in the iTunes chart popularity bars (including combined versions within the top 100) at 23:59pm on Saturday 19th March 2011:- i. Nicole Scherzinger – Don’t Hold Your Breath ii. The Wanted – Gold Forever; iii. Adele - Someone Like You; or iv. Any Other Bonus #2: Will Lady GaGa – Born This Way be higher than Parade – Louder in the chart? Bonus #3: Will Rihanna ft. Drake – What’s My Name be higher than Adele – Make You Feel Me Love in the chart? ============================================================ You have up until circa 10:00am UK Time on Tuesday 15th March to get your entries in (I'll be keeping the thread open) but entries altered after the midweeks have arrived will be excluded. Each Game counts towards the Overall Leaderboard (The Best 48 Games). Whilst I will maintain the last 6 weeks Leaderboard for newer players If you have never played in previous years, then here is a great opportunity to join in the fun! :cheer:

It made me sit and hold my head in my hands at the "value" our members add to the site. It wasn't even funny in the slightest; sorry Eric but I just did not find it funny at all; just very, very, immature.

iTunes Chart: March 2011 (II)
Yeah, that ridiculous one that had GahGa, Britney and Beyonce siitting at a school dinner table and giggling like little school girls and throwing insults in the direction of Xtina / seeing her fall into a bin. If it's now been changed (I put my board settings to signatures off so I wouldn't have to look at it) then at least there are some small mercies, I dread to think what is there now.
-
iTunes Chart: March 2011 (II)
Rubbish. I'm not a huge fan of any of them; and equally I don't dislike any of them whatsoever. In fact, I'd say I like each of them in a way, probably with Beyonce the most as she's clearly the biggest talent out of the 3 of them, with Xtina and GaGa equally next and Britney obviously last; but that is irrelevant as it is just a ridiculous signature and the thing you'd expect 10 year old kids to be doing, not anyone with a bit of intellect which I would hope GaGa for Glee has somewhere.
-
iTunes Chart: March 2011 (II)
I will third this, it is the most pathetic and immature signature I think I have ever come across on any forum, and that's saying something. GaGa for Glee must be under 10 years old?
