How on earth is Britney crashing iTunes when Lady GaGa sold 3? 4? 5? times as much as her in her 34 hours of sales as Britney did across the whole week yet there was no issue with iTunes then? :S

Yeah I suppose. I heard it back-to-back on Forth One and then Capital FM last night and Forth One had "sex" blanked out and "chains" / "whips" deleted and replaced with this sort of with this horrible autotune sound.

That perhaps explains in part its minimal effect on iTunes since Monday. Wonder how heavily edited it will have to be to make the cut for the pre-watershed/

How many spins is GaGa getting on TV music channels? Thought she would have been #3 easily by now, even #2 or #1. Its either not getting support from the TV channels yet or its just not clicking with the public en masse a la her previous singles.

Born This Way will be #4 in no time. Then the march is on to take Rihanna and Jessie which I don't think will take much longer either. #1 on iTunes by Friday evening? Thursday evening?

So with physicals as well (albeit small) Jessie combined on iTunes doesn't have to actually get above Adele combined on iTunes for it to take the #1 spot. If Adele doesn't hold up this week, then its not cut and dried yet for the singles chart (although at the moment, Adele definitely doesn't seem to be shifting from the huge lead she has).

Is Adele's live BRITs version of SLY available on non-iTunes outlets? (feels like that's the 5th time I've asked!).

How is it ridiculous? It might not be a perfect comparison but then no comparison ever will be. What it does, however, is give us a good barometer of the effect an awesome video can have on a song. Anyway, you conveniently forget to mention that the deluxe edition of The Fame had sold - what? 500k by that point? so you're rationale that the BTW video will have a less immediate impact than Telephone is quite frankly rubbish. I'll be using Hayzaay's barometer of Telephone's video impact to assess the impact the BTW video has on the song; in the meantime, you can continue to live on cloud GaGa.

Jeez, its only been out online for less than a day. Wait until it hits the music TV channels, it'll shoot up then.

The way the album tracks are climbing is making me think Jessie should easily get over 100k of her album this week - which also makes it game on for the album chart too. :o

... and the album versions of PT won't peak until probably as late as Wednesday evening / Thursday morning (I know its 48 hour rolling chart but there's still an climbing "after effect" of album tracks even after the initial 48 hours expires at Tuesday 23:59pm). Its definitely game on this week, especially if a Jessie PT album version gets top 10, although Jessie might lose it by a smidgen at the end of the week due to her losing Sunday sales for the album versions. Is Adele's live version of SLY iTunes only?

That GaGa video is, quite frankly, the complete opposite of what P!nk likes to croon about - f***in' disgusting. I'm just glad I wasn't eating anything while watching it otherwise the PC screen would be covered in my puke right now. Thank god that awful bit at the start won't be making it to a TV screen near me anytime soon so when I switch the music channels in the morning while having breakfast I won't be bringing that up either. Awful, awful, awful. And I usually like GaGa videos (and I really like BTW too) :( Definite reference of Madonna at the end too with the red lipstick, hairdo and blacked out gap in her teeth :o

Possibly but very unlikely. I’d be surprised if her sales can be maintained at another 100k+ level this week, given the drop in sales over the past week. Also Jessie has an album out so I don’t think Adele’s lead will grow over the week at all – album releases usually boost, or at the very least, maintain a track’s sales, due to cherry picking of the album version.

Wow, I'm astonished SLY album version is now @ #1. Thoguht that both would start to drop by now. The race for #1 this week really is on, with Jessie also having a 3rd version out.

Apologies for not posting any results this year so far, I just simply have not had the time so far, been doing 2 people's jobs at work and my girlfriend's psychology dissertation.
