  1. Is his name a play on an oceanic word? :o (albeit, if it is, it doesn't use the correct letters :S)
  2. It needs to fall to a position within the top 75 - Glee's IWTHYH fell out of the top 75 so is ineligible for counting for that bonus question.

  4. Spiidey's Chart Singles Prediction Game Chart Sunday 13th February 2011 :cheer: :yahoo:  :cheer: WEEK 06 IN 2011!!! The predictions are broken down into two sections:- SECTION A In this section, you will predict where 14 songs are going to be in the following Sunday's Top 75 chart. In this section, you should predict for each song a position between 1 and 75 based on where you think that song will chart within the Top 75. If you think the song will chart outside the top 75 (i.e. position 76 or lower) you should use the notation "75+". The point scoring for these 14 songs is:- 10 pts if spot on with your prediction (therefore a maximum of 140 points to play for in this section);9 pts if your prediction is out by 1 position, 8 pts if your prediction is out by 2 positions, down to 1 pt if your prediction is out by 9 positions and zero points if your prediction is out by 10 or more positions; If you think a song will not make the Top 75, you can predict that song to be 75+ (i.e. any position outwith the top 75). If this is correct, you will get 5 points; If a song charts in a position between 76-84 (e.g. 77), and you have predicted that song to chart at a position between 67-75 (e.g. 70), you will still score the "normal" points - in the example given, you would score 3 pts;If a new single is pulled from release or non-chart eligible then everyone's prediction for that question will be void and everyone will be awarded 5 points;Due to physical singles sales declining I have scrapped the old rule of awarding points should the physical release be postponed so long as the download release goes ahead as scheduled.+ SECTION B In this section, you should put the songs in the order they will chart, from highest to lowest. For the avoidance of doubt, you do NOT have to put the position you think the songs will chart at; you should only put the order that you think the songs will chart in. For each song that you place in the correct order, you will get 10 points, making a maximum of 60 points in this section. Therefore there will be a maximum of 200 Points [140 points in Section A, and 60 points in Section B] to gain. ============================================================ THE PREDICTIONS:- Sales Period: Sunday 06th February – Saturday 12th February SECTION A Adele – Make You Feel My Love Chipmunk – Champion Eric Prydz – Niton (The Reason) Glee Cast – One Love (People Get Ready) Glee Cast – Start Me Up / Livin’ On A Prayer Glee Cast – Stop! 5. I like whapping this one out every now and again:- http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/9367/runitunes.png
  6. I always seem to do better in the bonus rounds (cue epic fail in Week 10 :S). Nice to be near the top now after falling down the leaderboard after last week :cheer:
  7. Yeah that's a point actually - it might have to go and shift some to beat Grenade. However, its likely to sell incredibly well this week and for pretty much the whole of February due to the Brits and in fact into March with her album being brought forward. It also seems the kind of song Capital will hammer to death for pretty much the rest of the year, so I can see this sticking around the top 100. I agree with the first sentence, but disagree with the latter two. I really don't see how it is too early to start speculating - its obviously too early to start confirming, but I don't understand, or agree, with the assertion that it is too early to speculate - surely that's part and parcel of this forum for a start, but in any case, the song is clearly off to a good start and for the reasons I've given above, that's why I'm speculating that it may sell over a prolonged period thus making it a contender for #1 YTD.
  8. I'd be astonished if it isn't in the top 10 at the end of the year. In fact, with it being released so early in the year, I already think it has a pretty good shot at year end #1 :o
  9. I think new releases in the US have always been on a Tuesday; hence why most American acts release their single world-wide on that day, irrespective of whether other territories have the same release dates/chart weeks. I can't ever see the case where they switch that around and the release is Sunday world-wide, as they'd be more focused on getting the largest sales possible (from America), and also, the American chart sales week runs from Monday-Sunday so releasing on a Sunday would lose them a day of initial sales in the first full chart week in a sense. I think maybe a hybrid of release US Tuesday and then UK the following Sunday might work, but even then the risk of UK piracy between Tuesday-Sunday is still there. The #1's that you've tracked more than likely will have got to #1 on iTunes by the end of Sunday - IIRC Jessie didn't do this and was still #2 on Tuesday morning. That's why her sales haven't started to tail off yet as other iTunes #1's would have done by now - her effect is probably the same, just delayed a couple of days / a day and a half due to her not hitting the #1 spot until Tuesday morning-ish.
  10. I agree,it's definitely where is the love that I hear in "Price Tag", especially right before PT hits the chorus.
  11. Its only a matter of time. :cheer: I can see this selling 80k ish this week, and more in Week 2 (possibly upwards of 100k) before levelling out at around 90k Week 3 and 70k Week 4. That could well give it 4 weeks @ #1.

  16. Wow, a win!!! :cheer: Not going to do so well this week though ... :o
  17. There's a turn up for the books ... :o Have Ke$ha's EP sales been dumped in the iTunes singles chart (and therefore her pop bar @ #1) or are they still sitting in the iTunes album chart?

  20. Actually really, really, like this song; its very quirky and catchy. Plus, anyone that can write the pop masterpiece that is Party In The USA gets my support. I'm even starting to like Do It Like A Dude (I feel dirty saying that).
  21. Any weekend effect Ke$ha's can muster will be more than reversed by the "new-release" effect which sees every single new release start to fall from Thursday afternoon onwards (if not before). Therefore you're also forgetting that new releases are massively front-loaded which will count against Ke$ha as the week goes on. In addition, as you say its been on pre-order for ages so all this is going to mean is that its even more front loaded that Adele. And she started off ahead of Bruno in the midweeks on both Tuesday and Wednesday, yet ended the week 23k behind him. Ke$ha may be #1 on iTunes by comparing individual versions but at the moment she is still behind when combined versions are taken into consideration. She's going to need to build a considerable lead on iTunes to have any chance at the #1 spot.
