mariah finally getting number 1 would be amazing tbqh. its obviously a song that resonates with almost everybody with a pulse and if so it would be number 1 for just a WEEK. there are 51 more opportunities for your fav to get a hit. i fully welcome the festive surge in the charts every year. barely anyone followed the charts anyway so its not affecting them in the slightest. it just means more xmas bops for the casual listener tuning into radio 1...

at christmas, yer. its just 3 days after xmas a lot of ppl are still off work and visiting friends and family and listening to songs like this

i really don't get peoples distain for xmas songs being in the charts for like 3 or 4 weeks a year. how are they 'clogging' the charts? its christmas for gods sake. the charts reflect what people are listening to so why should it change during xmas? you cant just pick and choose which songs should and shouldn't count. they'll all disappear within a week or two anyway so whats the bother? cheer up!

england winning gold in netball at the commonwealth games for me. i've never really been into netball but i happened to be watching it live and i was hooked because of how neck and neck it was the whole game. then 20 seconds left on the clock with the scores tied and housby misses but awarded a penalty and scores. even watching it back now i get the chills.

same, its the first city that came into my head but knew london would be more likely thanks for hosting pete! enjoyed it more than the regular ff's
