Most consecutive No.1s is Beatles with 11 Most consecutive Top 5 hits (I THINK) is Boyzone, Westlife or Madonna though I may be wrong.
  8. Thanks Mikey, but thats not quite what I'm after. I'm looking for the list of songs that peaked at No 1, 2, 3, 4 etc thats sold the most. eg: No.1 is Candle in the Wind, the highest selling No.2 is Wham, No.3 is New Order etc.... Maybe its long gone :(
  9. I remember there was a topic a little while ago that listed the biggest selling song to reach each of the different chart positions in the top ten (and maybe beyond!). Could some kind soul provide a link to that thread if it still exists? Thank you very much! :D

    Thanks for everyone's response and apologies if I have offended anyone not from US, UK or AUS! I took the advice given and checked out OzNet and made a list of all the triples (songs No.1 simutaneously in all three countries). Its quite an elite list: 1 - 1st Aug 1964 - A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles (2 Weeks) 2 - 26th Dec 1964 - I Feel Fine - The Beatles (3 Weeks) 3 - 8th Jan 1966 - We Can Work It Out - The Beatles (2 Weeks) 4 - 4th Feb 1967 - I'm A Believer - The Monkees (1 Week) 5 - 6th Jan 1968 - Hello Goodbye - The Beatles (1 Week) 6 - 24th May 1969 Get Back - The Beatles (2 Weeks) 7 - 20th Apr 1985 - We Are The World - U.S.A. for Africa (2 Weeks) 8 - 27th Jul 1991 - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You - Bryan Adams (6 Weeks) 9 - 19th Dec 1992 - I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston (7 Weeks) 10 - 8th Jun 1997 - MMMBop - Hanson (1 Week) 11 - 3rd Aug 1997 - I'll Be Missing You - Puff Daddy & Faith Evans (2 Weeks) 12 - 12th Oct 1997 - Candle In The Wind 1997 - Elton John (2 Weeks) 13 - 27th Oct 2002 - Dilemma - Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland (2 Weeks) 14 - 15th Dec 2002 - Lose Yourself - Eminem (1 Week) 15 - 4th Apr 2004 - Yeah! - Usher featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris (1 Week) 16 - 3rd Sep 2006 - SexyBack - Justin Timberlake (1 Week so far) Thanks for everyones help.

With JT set to potentially do the "Triple" next week, does anyone have a list of all the songs that have topped the US, UK and AUS charts at the same time?

I think the main reason why Shakira being No.1 so long is annoying is that it is a "default" No.1. Its only there because no other song can muster decent enough sales to topple it. It is consistently selling and average amount and if it was up against Gnarls or the like, wouldn't have been No.1 at all.
  13. I heard that 2 three year olds in Quebec bought it the other day so yeah, it probably is... :P

Thanks Prince. Seems Top 10 entry is quite elusive then...

Is anyone keeping track on the best new entries on Download Only? It woud be interesting to see a list of the top songs. Obviously Gnarls at No.1, but as time goes on I realise what an achievement that was as no other track has even come close. When Gnarls did it so soon, I thought it would be quite a common occurence. I think the next closest was Rihanna at No.5 or something. Thanks

I Believe by Frankie Laine spent 9 more weeks at no.1 after being toppled in 53.. :P
  17. 53 33 HOGAN*BROOKE/PAUL WALL ABOUT US (FEATURING PAUL WALL) Hulk Hogan's daughter!!
  18. One major consistent error in his report - I thought Paris Hilton DID have the biggest selling single in the country, just not the biggest selling song.....
  19. Great achievement, yet they still can't get the picture of the right bridge on the single cover! Americans have never been able to tell the difference between London and Tower Bridge though?!! :P

    Chamillionaire possible No.1 next week?

The intro to Mr Brightside is nicked from Private Emotion by Ricky Martin
  22. Brutarn posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
True, I remember being surprised that no-one picked up on The Killers ripping off Ricky Martin for My Brightside!! I guess totally original tunes are getting scarce. It will always have been "almost" done before.

Sounds similar? Its almost the same chorus with a few words changed!

Yeah, i was pretty sure she credited the writers of Tainted Love. It was the rip-off of Lonely No More by Rob Thomas I was a bit more unsure about....

Does anyone know if Rihanna is giving credit/paying royalties to the writers of the two songs she ripped off/sampled in her last two songs? SOS - Tainted Love Unfaithful - Lonely No More Just wondering because there is a pretty blatant court case if she is not.
