  1. No they didn't. The last act to top all 4 charts simultaneously was, I think, Beyonce with Crazy/Dangerously In Love.

What a ridiculous statement. You listen to music because you like the music surely.
  3. And also, to be slightly pedantic, Baby Come Back wasn't a number one for UB40, just for Robin and Ali Campbell. So it will be their fourth if it gets to No.1 (which is HIGHLY unlikely but you never know)
  4. You don't need a computer because you can download tracks onto your ipod in many stores. Plus i'd be very surprised to meet people who have NO access whatsoever to a computer.......thats quite a feat! Do they live in a cave? And if you don't want to buy an MP3 player then it's basically tough that you can't get the latest music. That is like me whinging a few years ago that I can't buy all the latest tracks on vinyl because I don't have a CD player.....people got over it and moved on.
  5. Why are people so devastated with the death of the "physical" music market? I was under the impression that people bought music to listen to, not to look at the cover or play with stupid "free gifts". Its time to move with the times people and I'm afraid downloads/ipods are killing CDs in the same way CDs killed cassette tape and cassette tape killed tape cartridges and tape cartridges killed etc, etc.........

I think it sounds more like "If Only I Could" by Sydney Youngblood.

Rihanna is not a stranger to ripping off other songs.....She started by stealing "Unfaithful" from Rob Thomas' "Lonely No More" However the kings of "tribute" are currently the Hoosiers: Worried About Ray = Happy Together by the Turtles Goodbye Mr A - Mr Blue Sky by ELO Cops and Robbers = Love Cats by the Cure
  8. I have the majority of Number Ones on CD single from 1992 to 2004 with a few more dating from 1987 (My earliest CD No.1 is Pet Shop Boys Always On My Mind). And they are all about to be sold on Ebay sadly....they just don't get played and are taking up valuable space!

Does this song actually give any credit to the writer's of "Smalltown Boy" or are we just not meant to notice?

Lol! It would be interesting to see that definition of a "hit" applied to chart history! And just for the record, I remember Smiley Faces and like it....and let's not forget they have a current Top 40 hit too.

Spare a thought for poor Daniel Powter who is currently consigned to the one hit wonder category due to a chart exclusion. His follow up, Free Loop contained a version of Bad Day, and as the latter was still charting, his second single was removed from the charts!
  14. I think this has just been done on "Pop on Trial" on TV.

And, as a small addition to this......"Jack Your Body" by Steve Silk Hurley SHOULD (according to chart rules at the time) have been excluded from the chart for an overlong running time. For some reason however, it wasn't and made No.1.

You bring songs back to the past? Does your band have a time machine? Are you Bill or Ted?
  17. I used to own Now 8 and Now 9 on CD......but sold them for £80 each on e-bay a few years back! ch-ching :D
  18. You have to admire how thoroughly Spice Girls fans do their research! :P

My God.....Baby's Coming Back by Mcfly (A No.1 last year) was No.168 of the year! Outsold by Eye of the Tiger!!!

Lol, yeah sure okay. I should know better now than to argue with a fan on these forums over logic and fact. Just one question....is Wings the same as the Beatles??? One of the members is the same after all.....

 Well lets be honest....only one member has survived. They are barely the same band.
  24. I think the most successful one of these campaigns so far was "Honey To The B" By Billie wasn't it?

Not saying she shouldnt get another, just she doesn't need another. And in my own personal opinion, doesn't particularly deserve it from this song, but that is very much subjective I guess. I think someone attempting to begin a music career whilst penniless if the kind of person who NEEDS it. I think you may need a little perspective :P
