If they do, they should remix it slightly to get away from the fact it the intro sounds exactly like the Cutting Crew song.
  2. Is Mika's Lollipop the first album-only track (previously unreleased as a single and not scheduled for release) to make the chart?
  3. Brutarn posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Lollipop gets a new entry on today's chart though.....maybe a rethink?
  4. What, in the name of all that is holy, is Loco Loco by Mosquito?!!?

An interesting case from the 80s....in the US, Careless Whisper was credited to "Wham featuring George Michael"....now who do we file that under?!? :P

Well possibly. Personally I would consider it a duet, but I suppose so many US hits have 5000 featured artists on them nowadays that the line has been blurred a little. I mean would you consider "Beyonce featuring Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams" a solo hit for Beyonce?

Nice to see you understand sarcasm - my point being that Destinys Child were little more than a vehicle for Beyonce. And I suppose Sean Paul (featured artist on Baby Boy - therefore not a "solo" hit) is just a growth out of Beyonces rear end is he? <Again...that is sarcasm>

    And the difference is? :P

I thought Beyonces biggest hit was Independent Women - 12 weeks at No.1
  10. The problem is that old music has already BEEN in the charts. Its out there if you want to go and listen to it. Why take up places that could be filled by new artists and new music that would otherwise be missed because the Top 10 is full of old Beatles tracks.
  11. Probably why downloads have taken off so much. The biggest selection of music in the world in your living room.
  12. Its great that albums are so cheap now. It shows that the days of £13.99 albums were raking it in for the record companies. However, the trend of sub-£7 albums is definitely contributing to the death of the CD single. Given a choice between a £3.99 single and a £6.49 album, its a bit of a no-brainer really.
  13. I'll put a slight disclaimer on my above post and say that maybe "Groove is in the Heart" deserved No.1 lol :P
  14. What an utterly stupid idea. Its only saving grace is that it may make some money for charity. None of the songs listed deserved to be No.1 because they weren't the biggest selling song in the week they were out! I'm sure Robbie is not losing much sleep that Angels didn't make No.1 or that Noel is depressed because one of his singles only made <oh no> "only" No.2! Lets get some new music in the charts. People whinge when Westlife et al take a cover to No.1.....this is worse!
  15. Yeah im probably being pedantic but Masterton error spotting is a pastime round here isnt it? :)
  16. Interesting fact. Does that make Akon the first artist to take up 10% of the Top 10, 20 AND 30?
  17. Except that neither Take That or Leona Lewis managed a month on top.....but never mind eh?
  18. Not to be a party-pooper but I don't think this chart is going to work. I doubt people have the time to post up EVERY song they listen to in a given week. Therefore it is probably just gonna be a "favourite song in the Top 75" kinda chart.
  19. Forgive my ignorance but why is the View listed twice in the album charts?
  20. Brutarn posted a post in a topic in International Charts
Yes thats right....I think the official term is songs that have "outperformed the market". Ie, done better than all other songs that week.

  23. They are very grim sales for Billboard.

I'm worried now.....I'm forever buying 100 copies by accident! I always MEAN to just buy 1, but you know how it is, another 99 just fall onto the counter! :D
  25. :cheer: Pat Shorrt! My friend picked up The Jumbo Breakfast Roll single when he was over in Ireland and its a great party tune....just wish more people here knew it!
