  1. I would never have thought "Heartbeats" was the longest chart runner of the year!
  2. Crazy voting on here that means that Mud and The Darkness are excluded while pap like Bo Selecta and The Waitresses are in there.
  3. Has an English Language song ever made No.1 in Japan?
  4. Good to see that Australia gets all it's idol/reality TV chaff out of the way in time for christmas....wish we would follow suit.
  5. At Number 23 are the Pogues with 'Fairytale Of New York' which, as I mentioned last week, is chart eligible due to its Christmas 2005 re-release although this actually means it will vanish from the listings in Christmas week itself Will this single then "reappear" when download rules change on Jan 1st??
  6. Wasn't quite such a 4-way battle in Australia was it. Interesting that they seem to have bought almost the reverse of the UK.

Mariah Carey is fast becoming the xmas song of choice for this generation.

I think Take That will be pipped to the Christmas No.1 at the last minute by Mr Blobby's Greatest Hits.... :P
  9. I did a double take when I read this....I thought he was referring to the transexual Nadia in Big Brother!
  10. Not necessarily. Look at another act from the 50s/60s that performed mainly cover material and never really wrote his own songs. Repeated the same pre-orchestrated act when performing his music. Released a lot of DIRE material along with some songs which will (like it or not) be remembered for years to come. Elvis has now left the building........

Well it is, like it or not. Note i said "new recordings" not "new songs".

Maybe it the fact that the Westlife album is the only one with new recordings on it out of the four. Fans will already own all the material on the other three albums.

    Here we go again............
  14. Am I right in thinking that some of the contenders for Christmas No.1 are "Angel" by Angelis and "Angels" by All Angels?? Anyone spotting a theme here?
  15. Errr...okay. Well fun as it has been proving the pointlessness of your argument, its almost time for the chart predictions.
  16. I bet you think "Irony" is a type of metal dont you?
  17. I think I'll leave this thread now. KnockedOut is winning hands down in this argument with clever, intelligent retorts like this.
  18. Can't even phrase your insults correctly I see. Go back to Playschool, breaktime is over.
  19. Good to know what level of intelligence we are dealing with here. I guess that ends the discussion.
  20. Exactly. Look at the amount of boy bands that have fallen apart when they start trying to write their own stuff.
  21. They can clearly sing and you showed your blinkered-ness by stating otherwise. If someone works in I.T. do you berate them because they did not write Windows themselves? Love them or hate them, they are simple using tools in existance to do what they do best : sing. This is clearly working as they sold twice as much as All Saints managed last week.
  22. Explain why being able the write their own songs is the only measure of "talent". Their talent is being able to sing and perform and they sell records. Live with it.
  23. I can actually see the though processes that went into this song.... Something Like this: "Right we need a follow up to Everytime we Touch....but make it a cover, lets not take any chances" "Okay I like ths song. Problem is, it doesn't fit with the standard vengaboys beat we nicked for our first song" "No worries I'll just say the words really really fast"
  24. Utterly abysmal Whoever thought of taking one of the best ballads of the last 20 years and turning it into a Vengaboys B-Side should be shot.
