Great lists. Thanks very much. Any chance you could lay your hands on a list of the longest running No.1's in Australia and where Sandi sits in that??
  2. Great site and very informative! Can you shed any light on the song that has been No.1 for 36 weeks in Denmark?!?
  3. Is the Abba album the re-released Greatest Hits??

Where would these new CD/DVD pack releases chart? (ie, a CD album and a DVD of videos/performances of the album's tracks in a single pack) Would they go into the album chart or this one?
  5. Thats the most random chart fact ever!! Well done for finding that!

Eskimo Disco have always been one of the great underrated groups of the 21st century, but I reckon that by managing to get Pingu on vocals they're gonna get the big crossover hit they've been desperate for!

And how would the OCC calculate the charts on your criteria then? Crazy Frog deserved to be No.1 because it sold more than every other record that week. A sad fact I agree, but thats the way the chart works.

I think that was one of the biggest upsets for a while, the Pop Idol single flopping at No.5. I was desperately hoping that the Darkness would make No.1 though....Jules was just too depressing for Christmas.

I really thought the reality show chart-fixers were on their way out with the relative flop of Steve Brookstein in Xmas 2004, but Shayne Wards 2005 sales were phenomenal....even Band Aid wouldn't have managed to beat him last year. I suppose we just have to hope for a poor winner. Could any kind soul add what song each of the artists in the odds list will be releasing?

It deserves to be No.2 if it sells more copies than Fedde Le Grande without resorting to pathetic attempts to manipulate the charts by buying loads of copies.
  11. I predict Mcfly will set a record for only one week on the chart by a No.1. And Girls Aloud will stay on the chart for 200 weeks, with the OCC changing chart rules for them and crowning them queens of the world. Does that satisfy all the GA fans out there or do you want the individual heads of Mcfly too because they happen to be outselling your band?
  12. 1950 - Quicksilver - Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters (7th of 8 weeks) 1948 - Now is the Hour (Maori Farewell Song) - Bing Crosby / Gracie Fields (1 Month Only) 1946 - Symphony - Bing Crosby (1st of 2 Months) 60 YEARS AGO 1945 - Don't Fence Me in - Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters (2nd of 3 Months) 1944 - Pistol Packin' Mama - Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters (1 Month Only) 1943 - White Christmas - Bing Crosby (5th of 5 Months) Get the impression that Bing was the guy to know in the 40s?!?! Interesting that White Christmas was no.1 from June-October.....can't ever get White and Christmas together can they bless 'em!!!

Most consecutive No.1s is Beatles with 11 Most consecutive Top 5 hits (I THINK) is Boyzone, Westlife or Madonna though I may be wrong.
  20. Thanks Mikey, but thats not quite what I'm after. I'm looking for the list of songs that peaked at No 1, 2, 3, 4 etc thats sold the most. eg: No.1 is Candle in the Wind, the highest selling No.2 is Wham, No.3 is New Order etc.... Maybe its long gone :(
  21. I remember there was a topic a little while ago that listed the biggest selling song to reach each of the different chart positions in the top ten (and maybe beyond!). Could some kind soul provide a link to that thread if it still exists? Thank you very much! :D

Thanks for everyone's response and apologies if I have offended anyone not from US, UK or AUS! I took the advice given and checked out OzNet and made a list of all the triples (songs No.1 simutaneously in all three countries). With JT set to potentially do the "Triple" next week, does anyone have a list of all the songs that have topped the US, UK and AUS charts at the same time?
  24. I heard that 2 three year olds in Quebec bought it the other day so yeah, it probably is... :P

Thanks Prince. Seems Top 10 entry is quite elusive then...
