Let's Ruin ... 2005
Winner : Beautiful South - This Will Be Our Year URpwj0kjVH0 7.5 : Beautiful South - This Will Be Our Year 5 : U2 - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own 4 : Duke Spirit - Lion Rip 4 : Doves - Black And White Town 4 : Kills - The Good Ones 4 : Noise Next Door - Calender Girl 3 : Daniel Bedingfield - Wrap My Words Around You 3 : Destiny's Child - Soldier 1 : Raghav - Angel Eyes Average rate : 3.9 / 10 Easy win for Beautiful South, who had one number # 1 hit in my retrospective chart with "Dream A Little Dream" (8.5/10) in 1995 year. U2 at # 2 with their second best UK # 1, behind "Beautiful Day" (6/10). "Lion Rip" - rare time, when beautiful blonde leader's "secret of success" didn't work, maybe their other songs are better. "The Good Ones" aged badly and was downgraded from 5 to 4 out of 10. Weak and forgettable singles from Daniel Bedingfield and Destiny's Child. Raghav song is a mix of dance with Hindi music, awful in summary.

My 1993 charts were very non-mainstream, so possibly nothing from my hits. Maybe only Saint Etienne is popular enough for compilation, but their best 1993 single was peaked at # 12 in UK.

There are two-week window (until "Bye Bye Baby" and "Madchen"), when possibly I will have the most strangest # 1 in "Gražios Dainos" history.

Let's Ruin ... 2005
Winner : Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem - Almost Here oah-OYibXfw 8 : Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem - Almost Here 7 : Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers 6 : Duran Duran - What Happens Tomorrow 4 : 22-20's - Such A Fool 4 : Good Charlotte - I Just Wanna Live 4 : Wedding Present - I'm From Further North Than You 3 : Cam'ron and Mona Lisa - Girls 2 : Deeyah - Plan Of My Own 1 : Bloc Party - So Here We Are 1 : Lil Jon and East Side Boyz - Roll Call Average rate : 4 / 10 First 8/10 song !!! Delta already had three number ones ("I Don't Care", "Innocent Eyes", "Not Me, Not I") in my chart, but it was impossible to beat YVA debut hit. "Like Toy Soldiers" is my second favourite single from Eminem, only behind "Stan" (7.5/10). "What Happens Tomorrow" was very popular in Russian radio Maximum chart, where spent 16 weeks on the top and more than one year in top 20. Until this rate I never heard any Wedding Present songs before, but knew about their chain of "endless singles" from 1992 year. In the end we have a single from my least favourite group from 2000s Bloc Party and agressive gangsta "Roll Call".

BuzzJack presents...
It's a little bit pointless in Wikipedia era, because if you wish to find a big UK hits there are already the lists with all (!!!) UK top 10 singles by years (from 1952 to 2024) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_UK_top-ten_singles Buzzjack compilations are OK, but genre/theme based (for sample like Britpop) is much more interesting thing.

That's why I love it. For me yearly compilations based only on UK chart peak position / popularity are super boring and non-interesting. Even personal yearly compilations are more interesting, because the creator of it can push his/her favourite UK flops in the list instead hated big hits. For personal compilations I had the idea for separating one year on two parts. The first one is for more popular songs, the second is like a personal recommendation to listen my low-known favourites. Someting like "1999 Hits" and "1999 Hidden Treasures".

Let's Ruin ... 2005
Winner : Hanson - Penny And Me 0ZyWICp-I2I 6 : Hanson - Penny And Me 4 : Freefaller - Do This! Do That! 4 : Hal - What A Lovely Dance 4 : Amsterdam - The Journey 4 : Ashlee Simpson - La La 4 : Phixx - Strange Love 3 : Houston - Ain't Nothing Wrong 3 : One World Project - Grief Never Grows Old 3 : Ashanti - Only U 2 : Commander Tom - Attention 2 : Lovefreekz - Shine 1 : Xzibit - Hey Now (Mean Muggin') 1 : Mylo - Destroy Rock And Roll Average rate : 3.2 / 10 Hanson grew up and released good single "Penny And Me", please don't remind me about their irritating hit "MmmBop". Phixx is an average boyband with not memorable song. Ashlee was worse than her old sister, but honestly Jessica wasn't very successful in my charts. No surprises in a bottom of ranking, it's dance (Lovefreekz, Commander Tom) and urban (Xzibit, Ashanti) again and again. On the last place we have an unfunny musical joke (Destroy Rock And Roll).

Oceania is easy for compiling (Australia, New Zealand) For Africa I can use a trick with only South African schlager. :P LNTXDlv5TDw 3CdjNvlNW98

Your Schlager compilation was perfect for representing non-English language songs. The last one wasn't. I can try to compile unkown/non-mainstream compilations for many countries from continental Europe. All three Baltic sisters  , Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, maybe also Switzerland, Belgium and Poland (for a hard challenge).
