  1. My favourite is UK # 56 flop from Clash and Ellen Foley - Hitsville U.K. tv3vms9m9DU
  2. As always I am the opposite to Buzzjack opinion and dislike 'Vienna' very much.
  3. Just watched Wikipedia, it's from 1980, which is the next year in my cycle.
  4. Winner : Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds uLY7jbrIBpc 5 : Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds 5 : Kasabian - Cutt Off 5 : Interpol - Evil 4 : Seagulls Ska - Tom Hark (We Want Falmer!) 4 : Dana Rayne - Object Of My Desire 4 : Erasure - Breathe 3 : Jet - Get Me Outta Here 3 : Secret Machines - Sad And Lonely 1 : Scissor Sisters - Filthy / Gorgeous 1 : Lethal Bizzle - Pow! (Forward) Average rate : 3.5 / 10 Three songs got the same score, but only because I use 0.5 step only for higher marks. "Against All Odds" is more like virtual 5.5 / 10, so Steve Brookstein was declared as the first (predictable) winner here. His version of "Against All Odds" is my third favourite X-Factor winner's single (behind "Cannonball" and "The Climb"). I don't remember the original (heard it only once), so mostly familiar with Mariah and Westlife cover (7/10). Almost everybody on Buzzjack hate Westlife, but not me. Football songs are easy target for hate, but I don't have anything against them. Some from the them became big hits in my chart. Related to FC Celtic "The Bhoys Are Back In Town" (UK # 44 in 2003) from Dance To Tipperary was peaked at # 2 and had strong chartrun (2-2-5-6-7-9-11-14-17-18-20). Dana Rayne's single have some good parts and cute cartoon video, but in summary is too dance for me. In a bottom there are first two songs for my yearly "Worst list". I strongly dislike a vocals of male member in Scissor Sisters, so it was predictable place in the end. Scissor Sisters had one hit in my chart (Kiss You Off), but it's mostly like Ana's solo song. It was normal start, but how soon will we see the first positive score (6 or more) ?
  5. Possibly 2005 year is not so SAFE choice, as I thought.
  6. Even not in top 100 in sales chart. :(
  7. Her most well-known song, but not the best. 7/10 from me.
  8. 57. Ellen Benediktson and Simon Peyron - Surface (2020) Rate - 7/10 En_UQaYcPaQ "Last minute" entry in top 60, because I upgraded the song rate from the original 6/10 in 2020 year. It's the first from seven female / male duets in this countdown.
  9. The rules are the same for all years. I will rate five years from five different decades (from 1970s to 2010s). I prefer to say "Not Rated", because don't have any interest in listening and the ranking of instrumental tracks.
  10. 58. Calaisa - If I Could (2008) Rate - 7/10 LH-4nglbK-A
  11. 59. Cookies 'N' Beans - What If (2009) Rate - 7/10 RWlvBAbDCrg Wonderful Lithuanian music scene changed my vision on other girl groups, so I became more stricter when try to rate their music material.
  12. 60. Jessica Andersson - Can't Hurt Me Now (2015) Rate - 7/10 iy8g9X0UgWw There is a small connection between 2015 and 2017 years. Due to low competition I had a week winner and ESC fans favourite finished on the last place in my rankings.
  13. Finally :cheer: Against Kelis now.
  14. Very underrated song in modern era.
  15. As always the best songs are in the worst category. BEST - H & Claire - DJ WORST - Christina Aguilera - Fighter
  16. January 1st January Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds - 5/10 Lethal Bizzle - Pow! (Forward) - 1/10 8th January Jet - Get Me Outta Here - 3/10 Secret Machines - Sad And Lonely - 3/10 15th January Kasabian - Cutt Off - 5/10 Interpol - Evil - 5/10 Seagulls Ska - Tom Hark (We Want Falmer!) - 4/10 Erasure - Breathe - 4/10 Dana Rayne - Object Of My Desire - 4/10 Scissor Sisters - Filthy / Gorgeous - 1/10 22nd January Client - Pornography - 7.5/10 Pop! - Serious - 6.5/10 Thirteen Senses - Thru The Glass - 6/10 Rooster - Staring At The Sun - 5/10 Darius - Live Twice - 5/10 Manic Street Preachers - Empty Souls - 4/10 Killers - Somebody Told Me - 4/10 Longview - Coming Down - 4/10 Pink Grease - Strip - 4/10 Music - Breakin' - 3/10 Kings Of Leon - Four Kicks - 3/10 Narcotic Thrust - When The Dawn Breaks - 3/10 Jamie Scott - Searching - 3/10 Roni Size, Beverley Knight, Dynamite MC - No More - 2/10 Soul Central and Kathy Brown - Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own) - 2/10 29th January Lucie Silvas - Breathe In - 7/10 Mercury Rev - In A Funny Way - 5/10 Athlete - Wires - 4/10 Feeder - Tumble And Fall - 4/10 Therese - Take Me Away - 3/10 Ian Brown - Time Is My Everything - 3/10 Others - Lackey - 3/10 Ciara and Petey Pablo - Goodies - 2/10 Mooney Suzuki - Alive And Amplified - 2/10 Chemical Brothers - Galvanize - 1/10 Roots Manuva - Colossal Insight - 1/10 Rachel McFarlane - Lover - 1/10 Soul Wax - E Talking - 0/10
  17. Special mentions : Velvet - Queen (2009) It's very rare thing, but sometimes I can change my opinion about the song many years after the first listening. Not drastically, but can decrease or increase the rate on 1-1.5 point. In 2012 year "Queen" was my favourite from MF 2009 with 8/10, now her rate is 6.5/10. Melodifestivalen performance have a strong influence on this ranking. In 2024 year I stil like cute lyrics, but don't like a staging. Sommarkrysset performance was amazing and she looks like Diana Vickers. She easily could hit top 40 with it in this countdown. jXI-QPxV508 Sommarkrysset rate - 7.5 / 10
  18. Special mentions : Elisa Lindstrom - Forever Yours (2024) MSo7qf38ENQ There were only two possible choices in this year. Elisa's song is OK, but worse than her two previous attempts. So I selected the most iconic Melfest 2024 entry for top 60.
  19. Before the start of main countdown there are three songs in a special mentions part. Special mentions : Krista Siegfrids - Snurra Min Jord (2017) gHGrzz5mUJ4 From last 25 years only one my Melodifestivalen favourite was lucky enough to be the winner with 6/10 song, which is not enough for top 60. I love Krista, she is a beautiful and lovely person, singer and mom. Sadly her Melfest entries weren't so good as "Marry Me", "Seventeen" and UMK 2020 performance "6 On Parempi Kuin 1" (I even charted it). Her 2016 song "Faller" was weaker and got only 5/10. The rest 24 Melodifestivalen contests had at least one song in top 60, which is better result than Eurovision had.
  20. Maybe I will do the updated all-time top 100 Eurovision songs in the end of 2024 year, but it's mostly about minor changes in comparison with 2019 version. So now we can deep into the beautiful world of national pre-selections. I always wanted to compile top list for my adorable Lithuania and their iconic national pre-selection for Eurovision, which had over 40 songs in some years. You can't be true hardcore Eurovision fan without the following of Lithuanian pre-selection. Maybe one day my dream will come true, but for the first NF countdown I selected Swedish mainstream. Melodifestivalen is the most loved national pre-selection in ESC fans community and big enough if we talk about the number of songs. Everybody on Buzzjack is very familiar with my preferences in music, so you are ready to see and listen blonde female singers, non-English language songs, schlager, (outdated) old-fashioned music. But in summary this countdown is less predictable than my Eurovision top was with the exception of winner. For me 10/10 song is "screaming winner", which is obvious # 1 in this countdown for everybody, who know my musical (and not only musical) preferences. But there is one thing, possibly only some Buzzjackers (old Melodifestivalen followers) are familiar with that performance and song. Top 60 Melodifestivalen songs (by rate) : 10 - 1 song 9.0 - 5 songs 8.5 - 7 songs 8.0 - 7 songs 7.5 - 20 songs 7.0 - 20 songs
  21. I worried about 90s win, because in that decade my music taste is mostly opposite to Buzzjack and UK chart in a summary. You can watch my 1991-1993 charts with a domination of non-English language songs and successful singles from the middle and bottom of UK chart. I didn't check a peak positions, but possibly there is not any my # 1, which was a hit in UK.
  22. Maybe the place of poll in 2000s forum had a strong influence on the result, but what's done is done. 2000s decade won. I will ruin the songs from 2005 UK charts. After the finish of 2005 year I will ruin 1980 (in 20th century forum), it was very predictable choice. There are two strong musical connection between my music taste and this year. Average rate : 3.5 / 10 4.1 / 10 2.8 / 10 3.2 / 10 4.0 / 10 3.9 / 10 3.4 / 10 3.8 / 10
  23. I started to listen music in 1999, everything before is retro for me. Even 25 years after I can’t name Geri Halliwell or Britney retro act.
  24. Thanks for everybody, who had any interest to this thread. Two "Beautiful Song" videos almost reach 1.000.000 views on Youtube. It's a perfect final point for this Eurovision countdown. BeXo4HzpmuU KAxYfMFE_94
