How are these combined charts worked out? I find it hard to believe Lily Allen is still no.2, the second version of SOWN is right down there at the bottom of the chart. I wouldn't have thought that would be enough to see her move from no.5 - no.2.

  2. Do they? Oh. It's still not her being a cash cow though as it was probably iTunes'/her label's decision rather than hers. (However, the Bieber thing is cash-cow-ish, it's just that's not the reason it's doing so well).

I wasn't calling MC a cash cow (OK, I was sarcastically) It’s a marketing term for something that is guaranteed to rake in profits without fail e.g. AIWFC in its many forms!

  3. It's because it's been REDUCED IN PRICE - not really 'cash cow'. (She's probably earning more from it rhis year anyway as the increased sales probably offset the reduced amount she gets per sale though).

I was just refering to the Bieber re-hash, surely it wasn't necessary.

  4. She's recorded a new version with Justin Bieber (which is absolutely dreadful - mostly because of Bieber's autotuned robotic vocals) but the video itself is more "big budget" than the original video. For me, it loses its charm because of it.

It's also used in TV/radio commercials and is without doubt one of the most popular Christmas singles of all time.

    I see..talk about a 'cash cow'...no offense to Mariah C fans ;)

  5. Whip My Hair for xmas No.1 :cheer: .............................................................................................................................. <_< I think I may just go live in a cave for the rest of my life.

PS the 'media whoring' of that child during the X-Factor ad breaks is disgusting.......we've reached a new low.

  6. Why do these American R&B/Rap/Sh*t spring up from no where and go to no.1 all the time??! I dispair for the British public!! Any one who actually likes this 'Willow' song, I ask you to take a step back and think, a 10 year old girl singing about 'swagga' personally makes me feel uncomfortable <_<
  7. I think XFF will have even less success than 'You Are Not Alone' last year.

'Hero' had a few weeks at #1, sold alot and was actually a pretty decent cover.

'You Are Not Alone' had a week at #1, "good" sales and was dire, imo.

This year I wouldn't be suprised if the song misses the top spot.

We can only hope and prey that this years 'Ego-factor' finalists fall at the final hurdle!

  8. I'm probably gonna be hated for this but, whats the deal with this Ellie Goulding song?? its awful, shes just talking, irritating as hell!!! you could pick some random girl off the street and she'd probably be just as 'good'!

    Great song..not so great singer.

  9. Have you even read the thread?

Anyway, 4'33" isn't silence at all. When you 'listen' to it, the point is the music is the background noise.

Yep, I've taken in all thats been said here, but i've still not been enlightened to any point in this what so ever.

OK Its 'not anti-Xfactor' so thats cleared up, is it the 'amusing' side of it I'm supposed to be getting? please I am seriously asking now!
