  1. I've moved on from physical singles now. Downloads have replaced them and I think that's a good thing. There's more choice in terms what tracks you can buy (downloads do not sell out or get deleted with the same rapidity) and tracks are cheaper.

I was sick of having to pay up to £4 for one song I wanted.

It's odd there was not such nostalgia when the cassette died.

I can't see why CDs and dowloads can't work hand-in-hand together to make the charts as acurate as possible.

And when cassettes died out, we were moving onto somthing better, no messing around rewinding and fast-fowarding, CDs were still somthing that you could SEE and HOLD. moving from CD's to just downloads is just wrong!

  2. To bin the CD single would be complete stupidity, and alienate thousands of people, believe it or not, people DO still buy CDs  (and in many cases, prefer them) in this digital world we now live in.

To be honest I don't care much for downloads, all though I will get the odd song occasionaly, I do own an Ipod and use itunes I'm not completely anti download, there good to have when you on the move, but I don't use my Ipod at home, most songs I have on it I own on CD. Downloads are easy to get and are cheap, but thats about it, in the end, you've got to ask your self do they really exsist and do they really belong to you?!?!

  3. Tbh Girls Aloud have always been on the right side with their critical acclaim, plus they do genuinely good pop songs usually

Whether or not they're a girl band

So it shouldn't be too much of a problem as they can also have download hits (Biology hit no.2 on the official download chart)

GA have been in the media ALOT since the tour, the wedding an all that!, I can see them beeing quite sucsessful with their comeback

  4. 2 much focus went on the first week sale of a single some years ago and that has done alot of damage i think, the downloads have in a way changed that a bit as a single is more likely to climb the charts these days

however there is need for a decent msuci show at a decent time,i really do think totp should be kept and hire a serious team to work on it and get it back on track,

again alot more live singing is needed, why appear and then mime but i do think totp is one of the shows that prefer mimers latelt as its less hassle for the show

i agree with you there on both counts, records stay around for longer in the top 40 and don't drop out as quickly, with steady sales,

an TOTP should be kept on, putting it on Sunday killed it, it was best on Thursday night!

  5. does anybody have the ''stargate'' remix that some radio stations are playing? i prefer it more than the abum version and the single wont feautre it (its not on download either). please.

Is that the one with the beat in the background? I preffer that aswell!

Singles get nowere near enough promo these days, don't you think? the reason is because there are hardly any shows for artists to come and perform on anymore! face it good sataday morning TV shows for kids are dead and gone! there is the odd advert every now and again but thats it!, last time I saw a performance by an artist on terrestrial TV was Rihanna on Richard and Judy weeks ago?!
  7. It's partly due to downloading, partly due to disinterest in singles, and the fact that people will buy an album with the artist and song on it for £8.99, rather than £3.99 for a three track single with the song and a few remixes on it.

They don't all cost £3.99 most singles are also released at £1.99 aswell, which is quite reasonable I think

  8. You've got to wonder though, WHY?! have singles sales dropped so much, even with downloads now (which has helped, if only a little), have people just stopped liking/buying music nowdays?!? or is it the music it's self?
  9. WHHHY!? is this song officialy added to Itunes now?! it's over a month (about 6 weeks) until it's released, what is the point?! the people who buy it now won't go back to buy it gets its release, losing thousands of sales?!

OK so you can say it stops people from getting hold of it illegaly, but for law abiding people (like myself ;) ) that PAY for the songs off Itunes, will be snapping it up in their thousands?! The OCC should get the act together and sort out this mess with early releases...quick!
