Yet another group of 'pop stars' who, after a short holiday in L.A will comeback with full on American accents.....

Yup "Weekly dross" sums it up pretty well......A major overhall is desperatly needed atm, I just hope to god this 'new' urban sound is just a short-lived flash in the pan! 2010 so far is a year to forget music wise.

There is a MASSIVE lack of quality albums being released at the moment, and as metioned from 'established acts'. Any albums I have bought this year are from 2009, and I am all for buying physical CDs....but there really isn't anything out there at the moment I want, say compared to 2004/2005/2006 when I spent way too much on CDs!!

No, no, no, no, no..... Am I right in thinking this 'new' concept would allow people to constantly view youtube vids, each time counting as a 'sale' towards the chart??! I know people complain about the charts not accuratey reflecting what people are listening to, but they're close enough aren't they!?!! Afterall the UK top 40 has always been a chart compiled on what music people are BUYING! theres a big diffrence between liking a record so much you would part with your money, and just clicking on a free video on some website!! The top 40 should stay as it is.

Im no fan of SFG, but im glad for somthing a little diffrent at No.1, so far this year the chart has been abit....similar.
  6. At times like this it make me wonder how legitemate the charts are in this digital age - I'm making no acusations here, but these new acts that come along out of no where and fly up the charts, it just seems pretty weird? (If Tinie Tempah is the future of music..god help us all) 3 weeks on and there are still some people out there that want to buy that 'Pass Out' tat!??! hmmmm! im not convinced!....but that just me! make what you will of it! But seriosuly! how easy would it be for record companies to pay the OCC to add a few zeros to the sales stats!!??

Agree..2010 has been shocking so far...in a bad way.. <_<
  8. Maybe we shouldn't have been too optimisic....
  9. Just listened to the preview of that 'McLean' song thinking it might be something fresh, new and exciting.....I was wrong, just another mass produced, identical sounding, mess of a recording... Wish this sh*t would just go away now, WHY are people buying this stuff!!?
  10. Heres hoping that the same thing that happened to Dizzee/Flo last week happens to this TT person! <_< With each 'song' like this this, that comes from no where and reaches No.1, I feel more out of touch with the charts
  11. I must of missed the part in Grease when the cast burst into lazy cover versions of other peoples songs....

Yeh, CD singles were (are) £3.99 each, that would bump profits up enough to make a difference! the record companies made alot more money ten years ago.

    I'd like to see one 2000 & 2010
  14. Same, the this whole obsession with music from Ads and the likes is really starting to irritate me! also the Xmas chart each year..somthing has to be done..soon!

What is the point in this band now?? such a joke! I wouldn't be suprised if an album never emerged!
  16. For Cowell its all about "I have X amount of songs in the charts" or "I've had X amount of No.1 singles" that is why he wouldn't just donate the cash!
  17. Although, Iyaz technically is a British Citizen, as he comes from the British Virgin Islands, a colony of the UK. He'll hold a UK passport and so on..
  18. I dunno, but it's pretty annoying....don't see the appeal what so ever..

Agree, wish it would go back to where it came from, which in my mind, is the place where obscure, hyped up generic songs belong.. <_< Never heard the song till this year, and wish I never had...don't understand the mass appeal at all???

OK..I will refer you to the 7 P's of marketing, people, price, place, promotion..etc, at no point where the public ever told/asked to buy Joe's single, his exposure on Xfactor was no diffrent to TOTP apperences or music videos which have acted as a platform for artists in the past. I'm sure the public can make up their own mind on whether to buy the single or not, and they most evidently did, or else the 20 million viewers of the final would have rushed to by their copies, no?? Plus your statement about RATM being ahead on downloads is quite irrelevent don't you think?? does that really prove anything
  21. Justin posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
What a stupid question??! the point that Joe X-factor has sold 80,000 is because people are buying the song on their own terms, because they like the song and think "oh i'll buy it" THIS IS THE TRUE REFLECTION OF THE CHARTS! Now with RATM's drop in appeal this week this just shows who the 'controled, mindless' members of the public are! The people who started that whole campaign on facebook have even impressed Simon Cowell with their manipulation...so tbh I don't know whos worse! X-Factor, RATM (and it's fans <_< ) aside, THEM facebook people have become the thing they hated the most and are too dumb to see THEY have ruined the Christmas No.1 with their 'comunist campaign'
  22. I WOULD vote for NO campaign at all!! is this what it's come to!??!

Something good would be nice..that I may remember in 5 years time  2009 has officialy been the year of hyped up artists..*COUGH* Dizzee Rascal *COUGH*

Makes me laugh how these 'Rage' supporters are now saying "Simon Cowell is using his PR team to win it, thats not fair!" ?? and on Sunday when Joe gets to No.1 they will be like "Simon Cowell fixed it, everyone hate Simon Cowell, and the media, so unfair..blah..blah..."

If he doesn't make it this week proabably Joe.
