I will always be a buyer of physical singles, and I can't see why they can't be avalible aswell as downloads for as long as music is around (ie FOREVER!) for people who preffer to own their music on a physical format. I occasionaly download songs, but personly I find them quite pointless, ok there 'easy' but thats about it..

Dropping from the harmonic heavens to the groovalistic dance floor, Rihanna has returned with another single that will have listeners begging the DJ to play it one more time. Produced by Jason Rotem, the sizzling 'S.O.S.' is bringing the summer heat early this year. With its hypnotic beat and enticing melody, 'S.O.S.' utilizes the electro-funk of Soft Cell's '80s classic 'Tainted Love' to create a soulful anthem of young love. -HMV Release date: 17-4-2006 Out in two weeks, does anyone think it'll get to no.1? with Shayne Ward & Gnarls Barkley around it looks unlikley but it would be good if it did, it's a great tune! http://usapears.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/concorde-pear.jpg

I it to do with the number of weeks the songs were at no.1? If it is then I say Bryan Adams - Everything I Do (I Do It For You) because it spent 16 weeks while Stiltskin spent 1 (1994) The Hollies spent 2 (1988) Robin Beck spent 3 (1988) and The Bluebells spent 4 (1993)
  13. Is there still no chart updates Mikey? :(

Don't know why everyones predicting this will sell about 50K, i'm sure it'll shift over 100k, just look at TMG 700,000K in a few days, OK it was christmas, but if 700,000 people bought TMG i'm sure SOME of them will by NP which in my opinon is a better song anyway. <_<

I am as well, but they'd be idiots do get rid of the physcial single, I mean just this week 'Crazy' out sold what it sold in downloads last week, in just one day! I don't see the point in downloads at all, other than they are just 'easy'.
  16. Justin posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
It might get to no.1, and it might, if even a fraction of the people who bought TMG buy it!, I think the songs better then TMG anyway!, I think 'Crazy' might have a chance to replace him the following week?? we'll just have to wait an see how much Shayne sells..
  17. What was that they played on TOTP last night?? It looked pretty good I thought it was the vid?
  18. Gnarls Barkley, MJB & U2, & Kooks singles at HMV, where Orson is actually sold out I may add!

Totally agree with you, the singles chart dipicts what songs were popular at the certain time, the album chart dosn't give out much about the current music scene, and is driven mainly by fanbace and hype, you could argue that the singles chart doesn't show everyones tastes, but you can't deny that in 10 years time people will remember Amarillo and the Crazy Frog being a No.1 single, but do you think we'll remeber the week Journey South knocked Corrine Bailey Rae of the top spot, I don't think so.

Why would they up the price of the single to cover lost proffits? they'd still have the sales, but just miss out on the chart position?!?!

Quite like this, didn't like TMG and it's not really my kind of thing, but theres somthin about this, reminds me abit of James Blunt..
  24. Yeah I thought that, somthings gone wrong down the line, I thought sales would be massive when they said downloads where added to the chart last year, but sales are lower now than ever!, I wonder what it would be like if downloads still had a seperate chart?!
  25. Cheers Mikey! I've been on hear before, but I didn't know they listed UK top sellers!, it's good for seeing what was No.1 in the US & Oz aswell!
