  1. 'Brilliant song'?? OK I'd be right behind a christmas themed NEW, ORGINAL song going to No.1 insted of X-Factor... but being told to download a song released in 1992, that somehow is going to be somekind of victory against 'something or other' in the event of it going to No.1 (which it won't)..doesn't really appeal to me! I will agree X-factor in general has become dire, and the 'Americanisation' of the show makes me what to throw my TV out of the window. But still people WILL watch it, AND it is entertaining! I could turn this whole appeal back on it's self and ask how many people (drones) would download this single if they weren't asked to, being made to think they were 'part' of some kind of revolution (  )????? just as bad as the millions of Xfactor viewers they hate so much! Most of these downloading morons will probably get it off Limewire or someother illegal source, not to mention the ones who have started to download already!! (see Itunes chart)

It would be a complete travesty if this was not No.1 in January!!! so much better then FFTL.
  4. C'mon! please  How many times has this been attempted for one thing or another, it's embarassing to think that people actually believe they're in with a chance! X-Factor Xmas No.1s have become the inevertable now days!
  5. Agree completly on the Simon Cowell thing! and I do agree that the shamefull 'audition stage' ("the bit the public like best".... <_< ) Is the closest thing to a modern day freakshow...

Cheryl's '3 Words' is definatly the type of song that flies up the chart in the new year, after all the Xmas rush - just watch it gain momentum over the next few weeks!
  7. Why are these suggestions/rumours all songs that have been "big in America" all the time? Simon Cowell is obsessed with the place! <_<
  8. Simon, Simon, Simon...when will you learn...
  9. Simon Cowell 'picks winner's song for Joe' Thu Nov 26 10:05AM by TV Editor Simon Cowell has reportedly picked a track already performed by finalist Joe McElderry as this year's winner's song. The X Factor judge is said to have chosen Journey's 1981 hit Don't Stop Believin' as the winning act's single - a song which Joe performed during Rock Week. His decision has led to speculation that he believes the 18-year-old will triumph in the final, reports The Sun. The second choice for the winner's song is The Climb from the Hannah Montana movie, which is being considered if it looks like Stacey Solomon may beat Joe in the final. A source told the paper: "It is getting to the crucial stages now and Simon and the producers are very confident that Joe could be the winner. He made a great fist of Don't Stop Believin' and that has helped. "It's always a difficult call choosing the song, especially as there are some very different talents in the final line-up." They added: "Danyl and Olly really think they can win. They will be shocked to learn the winner's song is one Joe has already performed. http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/blog/article/365276/

Yes, S Club 7's offerings were great! seems the original songs are running dry, which is a shame! :(

OK, I'll re-do that... If Whitney H can get top ten with such a weak SONG, Mariah Carey surely can! Oh and I fully undersand the charts thanks! :D

TBH if Whitney Houston can get to the top 10 with her strange performance and weak song, Im sure Mariah Carey can...or I may be wrong.

Not daft at all. It's shocking that some people don't seem to realise (as it has been said many times in this thread) Ireland is NOT part of the UK, therefore any 'chat' about the UK charts, ie: UK CHART CHAT, does not include any charts compiled in Ireland. To be honest, whenever I wrongfully stumble upon the thread in question (it happens alot <_< ) I seem to walk straight into a war of words between two members of this forum, and not much else.....

Hope so, would hate the current No.2 to slip through to the top <_< In fact, that songs sudden appearence so high makes me wonder if Itunes is involved in some kind of rigging process!! <_<

I agree, I don't want it in the top 40! It seems a shame when on the week of an albums release potential singles get cherrypicked, ruining the albums lifespan! OMH hopefully will be No.1 in Febuary 2010!!

I am one that believes any Irish chart info, Itunes or otherwise, should be in the International forum. When the international forum was added, all French, US, OZ, Japanese..etc threads where moved over to their own (International) forum! why not Irish? I don't want to get all political/historical, but Ireland servered it's ties with the UK in 1949! we are linked by a language and geographical location, that is all. I personaly have no interest in the Irish charts, and I'm sure anyone who is interested will have no problems in going over to the International forum to view them? I'll just finish on saying, I mean no disrespect to anyone involved in the thred and all the work they put into it, but UK it isn't.

Its what they like to call a 'hidden track'
  22. YES! this ^ The likes of Lily Allen/Calvin Harris/N-Dubz/Arctic Monkeys..and the rest of them that think they are somehow 'above' that kind of thing, secretly are waiting for THE phone call (that will never happen) I'm sure they'd jump at the chance and throw their 'artistic integrity' out of the window....for one night only <_<
  23. Can't answer your question but, just heard this song and like it alot!! I always seem to see the names of songs and write them of, with this I thought "another take a bow" or "it'll have feat Kanye West/Jay-Z" BUT this is epic! quite dark aswell, is it about being kidnapped or somthin!!??
  24. I agree with this, the public tune in everyweek to catch the 'pantomime' and laugh at exploited, near on special needs people (maily audition process). Also big share of the audience watch just to join in with the conversation at work the following day!! Who-ever performs, from Beyonce through to Susan Boyle are just extras to the whole X Factor package! Still think they should give TOTPs another go though! Thursday nights again!
  25. BRING BACK PRIME TIME TOTP!!! NOWW!
