My older sister is OBSSESSED with Sam Adams. I didn’t really know who he was at first but she keeps playing his song “Driving Me Crazy” in the car and it’s actually really catchy. It’s sort of become a guilty pleasure ahaha. I’m thinking about buying his album on amazon (http://amzn.to/SAbosB). Has anyone else listened to his other tracks? What do you guys think about him?

Has anybody heard of Renée Fleming? She’s a really amazing opera singer and she’s really well known for her incredible voice. I was just browsing through some covers of Muse on youtube, and I came across a video of her cover of Endlessly! I was really shocked that this opera woman was doing rock covers, but she sounded great. Watch her in this video about her new album Dark Hope (which I’m pretty sure came out today, btw)
she’s singing Muse at 3:35. What do you guys think of her?

Too bad I wasn't born into a talented family.....maybe I'd be a bit more musically inclined

But I never realized how many musical families there are! The Jackson Five, of course...then there's the Osmonds...the Wainwrights...I even remember studying the Marsalis family in my ethnomusicology jazz class in college. And I'm sure tons of you guys have heard Kristinia Debarge's new single Goodbye, I hear it all the time on the radio. She's kinda part of the pop music genre but her UNCLE is CHICO DEBARGE! I never put two and two together, especially b/c he's got more of a smooth R&B sound. He was promoting his new album on Good Day NY the other day and he definitely doesn't remind me of Kristinia, but he's great in his own right!

So who are your fave musical families?

Has anyone heard of K'Jon's music? I actually NEVER heard of him until a couple days ago, but his R&B songs are so soothing and soulful. His lyrics actually speak of hope and never giving up on your dreams...and I swear the lyrics aren't that cheesy. It's just a breath of fresh air, considering some of the trashy offensive songs that frequent the radio these days...plus I read that he went through some tough personal times and that's what he based his music off of.

If anyone wants to check out some of his music, there's a quicktime stream of his "On the Ocean" video and it's great!

  7. thin lizzy had some good songs but they still are stuck in obscurity to many who dont know much classic rock. i guess everyone knows the boys are back in town though. people probably think they are a one hit wonder.
