This is a first for X Factor in 9 years. Last night's auditionee Lucy Spraggan has hit the chart at #70 with that song - LAST NIGHT Really Impressive - That's just from the audition.

I agree - too much about their lives and not enough of the auditions (Boooooooring!!!) Who cares about somebody being a chimney sweep or the sob stories. Same with the conversations with Dermot O'Dreary outside. Then there are the countless & extra long ad breaks with all the trailers. I think there were only about 6 auditions broadcast on the whole show - then they wonder why they are losing viewers. That girl Lucy Spraggan from Sheffield who sang 'Last Night' was really the best of the night for me - so different. Song reminded me a bit of Victoria Wood's type of thing.

Mel B is absolutely the pits. She's the Spice Girl I always disliked was the least talented and I dislike her even more now. There's a way of putting people down and her's deffo isn't it. Glad she didn't get the job full time. Not usually into sob stories but Ella was the star of the auditions on Saturday.

Had this for 6 months now on import - much prefer this original than the UK version. It's been massive all over Europe A major surprise it's been released here - a foreign language song released in the UK - not before time too.

Will Shakira get another hit that she deserves albeit as a featured artist? Sounds like a mssive hit to me Where will it peak? Pitbull feat. Shakira - Get It Started q5SG7U76tls
  9. IMO Amelia Lily is a much better singer than Misha B
  10. X Factor finalist Amelia Lily (who imo should have won) has her debut single - You Bring Me Joy - out on 2 September Where do you think it will peak? zvpeBPxyZAY

Coronation Street and Keeping Up Appearances actor Geoffrey Hughes has died aged 68, his agent said. The star, famed for his role as Coronation Street binman Eddie Yates, died last night "peacefully in his sleep" after a "long courageous battle" with prostate cancer, according to his family. Hughes also played Vernon Scripps in Heartbeat, Twiggy in TV comedy The Royle Family and Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances. His last major TV role was playing Uncle Keith in Skins back in 2009. Born in Wallasey Hughes often portrayed cheery, larger than life characters. He had undergone a course of radiotherapy in 2010 after collapsing at his home on the Isle of Wight. Ricky Tomlinson, who appeared alongside Hughes's Twiggy character in the Manchester-based Royle Family, was one of the first to pay tribute. "Geoff wasn't just an actor," he said. "He was my mate. I used to call him every few weeks but hadn't spoken to him in about a fortnight. It's such a loss." Geoff appeared on the famous cobbles from 1974 to 1983, reappearing in 1987. His famous rows with Hilda Ogden went down in Weatherfield history. A spokesman for Coronation Street said: "We are very sad to hear of the death of Geoffrey Hughes. He created a legendary and iconic character in Eddie Yates who will always be part of Coronation Street. Everyone connected with the programme sends our sincerest condolences to his family and friends." R.I.P. Geoffrey http://www.worldcharts.co.uk/images/other/hughes.jpg
  14. Where do you think this should chart - Already been massive in the US, Germany, Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Belgium (Walloon), Canada, Holland, Switzerland & now climbing in France. They are the biggest band to come out of Iceland since Sugarcubes back in the 80s & deserves to be a big hit in the UK Of Monsters & Men - Little Talks ghb6eDopW8I
  15. Now re-released does anyone think that this single will now be a hit. It's re-released as it is the theme to Sky Sports coverage of Formula 1. Alistair Griffin came runner up to second series of Fame Academy in 2003 CnxiRt4qeM4
  16. On July 12, 2012, Tyler announced that he would be leaving American Idol after two seasons, released a statement saying, "After some long ... hard ... thoughts ... I've decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress 'American Idol' before she boils my rabbit. Jennifer Lopez has also quit stating "I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I've put kind of on hold," she said on Friday. Lopez spent two seasons as a judge on the US talent search, whose viewing figures have slumped in recent years. The programme's 12th season is due to commence in the autumn. "I just don't feel like I can be there every single day all the time like I have been for the past two years," Lopez said in a phone call to Idol host Ryan Seacrest's radio show. The 42-year-old had earlier said it would be "hard" to continue on the show without Tyler on the judging panel.

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers is massive all over Europe (#1 in Germany this week) and brilliant. Given airplay it should be a big success here. Where should it peak in UK There is an acoustic version by Belgium rockband Triggerfinger (#1 in Belgium & Holland) but it's not a patch on the original. Born Li Lykke Timotej Svensson Zachrisson; 18 March 1986 in Ystad), is a Swedish singer-songwriter. Her music often blends elements of pop, indie rock and electronic; various instruments can also be found in her songs, including violins, synthesizers, tambourines, trumpets, saxophones and cellos. I'd rather have Lulu over Annie Lennox anytime. Annie Lennox is so wooden and Lulu has loads of TV experience. I definately will not be watching if they bring in Annie Lennox. My coaches would be - (Mmm - difficult one this) Kylie or Lulu or Sophie Ellis-Bextor Adele or Rhianna or Amy MacDonald Robbie Williams or Phil Collins Ed Sheeran or Chris Martin

My favourite players tonight and the whole tournament are Joe Hart & Andy Carroll closely followed by Walcott Without Joe Hart England would have been slaughtered. The player IMO was the worst of the tournament was Ashley Young. Picking him was a big mistake. After tonight's attempt - Hodgson out - enter Rednapp

I was really hoping for Bo to win after Becky went out. Tyler for me is overrated and don't think he would have done have as well if it hadn't been for his connection to Amy Winehouse. As for Vince - he was just a weirdo. Leanne has a good voice but why does she have to scream so much. I only thought Bo had one really bad performance and that was when she sang Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill. Unless you have an operatic voice singing Kate Bush is an absolute no-no. The only singer I have ever liked singing a Kate Bush song was Hayley Westenra singing Wuthering Heights.

They managed to losse all those viewers because none of the acts had any standout talent. I think the battles round was just a mess. I switched off half way through. The only one I liked in the last 8 was Becky. Apart from the blind auditions which are great - the rest of the show is not a patch on X-Factor/American Idol. Will.I.Am & Danny are rubbish coaches. Will.I.Am can't even string a sentence together. Also I think the BBC were trying to do it on the cheap to save money & it hasn't worked.

I don't like any of the last 4. If I had to pick one it would have to be Leanne. My fave got the boot last night (Becky)

It's reported that Britney Spears walked out of auditions because someone made a mess of one of her hits. She makes a mess of them herself anyway. I think SC should now boot her out completely, a brilliant replacement IMO would be Rihanna. At least she is a good singer & can sing live unlike talentless Shitney

They could do a lot worse than having the experience of Lulu. I think she would make a brilliant judge & mentor. I don't know why no one has thought of her. After all look at Tom Jones (in his 70s) on The Voice or Steven Tyler (in his 60s) on American Idol.
