I'd rather have Lulu over Annie Lennox anytime. Annie Lennox is so wooden and Lulu has loads of TV experience. I definately will not be watching if they bring in Annie Lennox. My coaches would be - (Mmm - difficult one this) Kylie or Lulu or Sophie Ellis-Bextor Adele or Rhianna or Amy MacDonald Robbie Williams or Phil Collins Ed Sheeran or Chris Martin

My favourite players tonight and the whole tournament are Joe Hart & Andy Carroll closely followed by Walcott Without Joe Hart England would have been slaughtered. The player IMO was the worst of the tournament was Ashley Young. Picking him was a big mistake. After tonight's attempt - Hodgson out - enter Rednapp

I was really hoping for Bo to win after Becky went out. Tyler for me is overrated and don't think he would have done have as well if it hadn't been for his connection to Amy Winehouse. As for Vince - he was just a weirdo. Leanne has a good voice but why does she have to scream so much. I only thought Bo had one really bad performance and that was when she sang Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill. Unless you have an operatic voice singing Kate Bush is an absolute no-no. The only singer I have ever liked singing a Kate Bush song was Hayley Westenra singing Wuthering Heights.

They managed to losse all those viewers because none of the acts had any standout talent. I think the battles round was just a mess. I switched off half way through. The only one I liked in the last 8 was Becky. Apart from the blind auditions which are great - the rest of the show is not a patch on X-Factor/American Idol. Will.I.Am & Danny are rubbish coaches. Will.I.Am can't even string a sentence together. Also I think the BBC were trying to do it on the cheap to save money & it hasn't worked.

I don't like any of the last 4. If I had to pick one it would have to be Leanne. My fave got the boot last night (Becky)

It's reported that Britney Spears walked out of auditions because someone made a mess of one of her hits. She makes a mess of them herself anyway. I think SC should now boot her out completely, a brilliant replacement IMO would be Rihanna. At least she is a good singer & can sing live unlike talentless Shitney

They could do a lot worse than having the experience of Lulu. I think she would make a brilliant judge & mentor. I don't know why no one has thought of her. After all look at Tom Jones (in his 70s) on The Voice or Steven Tyler (in his 60s) on American Idol.

I also think Jessica should win but Philip Phillips will probably snatch it with all the little girls rising hormones The last 4 winners have all been male and only David Cook was any good with the other 3 being a complete load of rubbish. Even if Jessica loses I also think though that she will have a much better career

On May 20 - Robin Gibb has died after a lengthy battle with colorectal cancer aged 62. He is best known as a member of the Bee Gees, co-founded with his twin brother Maurice and older brother Barry. He had another younger brother, Andy Gibb, who was also a very popular solo singer. Born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the family later moved to Manchester before settling in Brisbane, Australia. Gibb began his career as part of the family trio and when the group found their first success they returned to the United Kingdom where they achieved worldwide fame. In 2004, the Bee Gees received their CBEs from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace for their "contribution to music". With record sales estimated in excess of 200 million units, the Bee Gees became one of the most successful pop groups of all time. They also wrote the soundtrack to the 1977 movie Saturday Night Fever. In the 60s the Bee Gees were basically a brilliant harmony group. As well as the 3 brothers they were joined by friends Vince Melouny (guitar) & Colin Peterson (drums). In the 70s they joined the disco boom, but from the mid 80s they went more or less back to their roots as a harmony group. The also wrote many hits for other artists including Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton, Marbles, Diana Ross & Barbra Streisand. Together the Bee Gees had 36 Top 50/75 hits and Robin 4 solo hits. After a career spanning six decades, Robin last performed on stage in February 2012 supporting injured British servicemen and women at a charity concert at the London Palladium. They were originally 4 brothers but now Barry is the only surviving brother. Andy (who was a solo artist) dies in 1988 caused by inflammation of the heart muscle caused by a viral infection. Maurice died in 2003 of complications resulting from a twisted intestine. It was at this time the Bee Gees name was retired, but Robin & Barry performed as Brothers Gibb. R.I.P. Robin Here's some of their best known hits: Spicks & Specks (first single) 2-e8QjU2WRM New York Mining Disaster 1941 (first UK hit - top 20 this week in 1967) 0Z6_Ik7WrYY Massachusettes (their first #1 - and Top Of The Pops performance - my personal favourite) AbkbGF27JyY Words (covered by Boyzone) SZNi60GCD0w I Gotta Get A Message To You (2nd #1) 4fAp2dJxycw Saved By The Bell (Robin's #2 solo hit from 1969 - Beat Club performance) 28cWHwjlW_4 Night Fever -ihs-vT9T3Q Tragedy (covered by Steps) um2Lxambevc You Win Again (final #1) qnDHXJPY87Q

Out of the 8 for the semis there's only one I like left - Becky I just don't see what Danny's hype about Max is all about - I think he's really average - much preferred David any day.

IMO Jessica had the best performace of the serie with My All. Pity Jimmy Iovine let her down with his song choice for her - but she did her best with it. Really want her to win - Phillips is pants.
  12. On May 17, 2012, Disco Diva - Donna Summer died at her home in Florida after a long battle with cancer. Aged 63 Born LaDonna Adrian Gaines she gained prominence during the disco era of the 1970s. She had a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and was a five-time Grammy Award winner. Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach number one on the US Billboard chart, and she also charted four number-one singles in the United States within a thirteen-month period. She had nearly 40 UK top 75 hits including 9 top 10s including one #1. She was my favourite female singer from the disco era. R.I.P. Donna Here's some of her biggest hits: Love To Love You Baby - #4 in 1976 h1ArZEFwRsY I Feel Love - #1 in 1977 fzjMvbHBPYU Love's Unkind - #3 in 1977 gW897aeWf5I MacArthur Park - #5 in 1978 6H0BD2eWIww Hot Stuff - #11 in 1979 wPlV2dzXWCw

I agree totally - I mean he actually thought Astro was a brilliant singer :D
  14. Being a City supporter I was at the Etihad yesterday. The atmosphere was electric. We were just about to leave when Dzeco scored so we stayed and it was unbelievable when Aguero scored also. It was absolute brilliance. As for Barton he should have been banned from the game long since. Maybe Tevez should also have gone but Barton's knee in Aguero's back was shameless. I hope he gets a lengthy ban. If I were Aguero I would have him charged with assault.

X factor USA has gone to a new low if they have signed Shitney Spears. The can't sing live - and no talent nutter will probably cause the show to end after the next series as ratings plummet. I thought last series was bad with L.A. Reid on the panel - now viewers could turn off in droves as they have got 2 nomarks.
  18. One of my two favourites gone: I really warmed to Laura even though she can talk the hind legs of a donkey. I'll just have to support Gaby now. The only guy I can stand is Stephen

No she isn't - the most annoying to me is Will.I.Am He can barely put a sentence together and as for his jokes :puke2: He should be the one to go. It's not Jessie who's at fault, it's what the BBC is doing to the show. The recorded results show for example and it's too rushed. Even the voting time is rushed, this week I couldn't get through at all. The only week I didn't like for the main show was the battles. Mainly it's the BBCs fault trying to do it on the cheap. I stick with it because BGT acts are far more annoying.

My rankings were Max should have gone - not Hannah -- Jessie sent the right one home of her team 1. Hannah (fantastic) 2. David (really very good - one of only 2 guys I like) 3. Becky (great voice) 4. Cassius (good - the only other guy I like) 5. Alex (just OK) 6. Bo (like her voice but she should never take on Kate Bush) 7. Max (just boring) 8. Toni (just shouts) 9. Vince (a freak show) 10. Ruth-Ann (absolutely aaaaaaaaggggggggggghhhh! - out of tune all the way through)

Ruth just has to go - totally out of tune My faves this week- Hannah, Beck & David Why does everybody say Proud Mary is a Tina Turner song. Ike & Tina Turner's version was the 2nd cover version in 1970. The original was by Creedence Clearwater Revival which featured it's writer John Fogerty (UK #9 & US #2) from summer 1969. The first cover was by Checkmates Ltd. in late 1969 produced by Phil Spector Here's the original HXwnkWsvlqQ

After the axing of Nicole Scherzinger & Paula Abdul from X Factor USA rumours are flying that joining the panel are Miley Cyrus & Demi Lovato According to Celeb Buzz say the rumours are true.

I liked it better than X Factor because NO childish DERMOT O'DREARY - the presentation was much more professional. I don't like the battles round though - there was however 1 sob story - that of Toni Warne & the stupid theatrics of Sam Buttery
  24. poppet15 posted a post in a topic in Television
I agree - she was more pitchy than Sophie who got the boot Apart from Ruth - All Tom's team are terrible
