  1. Not so remarkable - what about all the true one hit wonders (acts that have had just one #1 hit and nothing else hit the charts ever again)
  2. poppet15 posted a post in a topic in Television
Just why are the guest acts mainly American We've got a lot of talent in the UK

What 3 themes would you choose for the next series. NOT ones that have already been done. My 3 choices would be: 1. Rolling Stones week 2. Country week - with country not being as popular in the UK as it was, I think it would provide a challenge. Complete with an appearance from Carrie Underwood. If this were 2 big a challenge then a 90s Euro Dance week as a change from Disco week. 3. UK 60's week

Agreed They tend to do this with American Idol with a week between releases. I remember in 2004 - winner Carrie Underwood released Inside Your Heaven a week before runner-up Bo Bice's version and they both became Top 10 hits with Carrie hitting #1.

Don't like Stacy's choice of Elton John song. I would have thought Written In The Stars would have been perfect. As for Joe I thought Nikita would have been a great choice for him.

I think Cheryl's broke Louis' rule book with Joe again this week The so called Take That song she's chosen for Joe is in effect a Barry Manilow song from 1971 US #6 on re-issue in 1975 and UK #25 also on re-issue in 1978. Before TT covered it, a disco version was also a UK #40 hit for Donna Summer in 1976 as follow-up to her massive world wide hit Love To Love You Baby.

I remarked on Don't Let The Sun... in an earlier reply - however I agree with you on Could It Be Magic. It wasn't even just a cover for Take That but it was the second. Originally Could It Be Magic was a US #6 for Barry Manilow back in 1975 and a UK#25 hit on re-issue in 1978 O1rJrJZca9E The first cover was a disco version by Donna Summer UK #40 in 1976 and was her second hit as follow-up to Love To Love You Baby -- IMO the best version 7hDu_F47VaM

I wonder if Joe will be singing Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me again this week http://www.worldcharts.co.uk/images/rotf.gif For once I agreed with Louie - it is originally an Elton John song - #16 in 1974 As for George Michael he only duetted with Elton on a re-make in 1991

Hopefully be between Lloyd, Jedward and Danyel
  22. Also last week entering the chart on Downloads only was Laura White. See below She was an X-Factor finalist last year
  23. The original Foreigner version is the best. Mariah's version is not a patch on it. Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is gz2cUX0CNA8

For the third week in a row the better of the bottom 2 has gone. Jamie was the better by miles especially in the sing off - Lloyd was totally out of tune. Jamie didn't deserve bottom 2. If that honour had to go to one of the overs it should have been Danyel There is only one really good singer left now & that is Stacey. Joe is the only other half decent one. If Stacey goes the show won't be worth watching anymore. BTW - I thought Shakira was brilliant
