Coach Trip will be leaving Croydon on Monday 15 February with our old friend Brendan. Instead of the previous 30 day 6 week format, Series 4 will be 50 days 10 week format. The trip will take in 50 cities, including cities in Turkey, Greece, Sicily and Malta. The coach will also venture to Africa for the first time with a trip to Tunisia. RIGHT GUYS!! WHAT'S HE LIKE!! Anyone who hasn't seen it yet, take a look at some of the best bits of Series 3. KlvdjJqVyRs http://www.worldcharts.co.uk/images/CoachTrip2.jpg

I'll give it a watch for Vanessa & Kim God help Danny Jones  Charlotte Church would have made a good judge as she has done well in both worlds

Great auditions format. At least you can hear the auditionees and see more of them unlike X-Factor LIVE auditions where you can't here the auditionees or the judges because of the screaming audience and show very few. This last series it was near useless having judges (even on the final 12) because you couldn't hear what they were saying for the same reason. Maybe the audiences aren't interested in what the judges have to say but most viewers are.
  6. Hi welcome to the forums You can get the complete German singles chart week by week every week for the years 60-65-70-75-80-85-90-95-2000- 2005 HERE They are the complete charts (not just top 40). 1960 (top 50) - 1965 & 1970 (Top 40) - 1975, 1980 & 1985 (Top 75) - 1990, 1995, 2000 & 2005 (Top 100) They are updated online Saturday or Sunday.
  7. I fully agree with you There's nothing wrong with re-issues as long as their classics. Even if they were UK flops first time around. Back in the 60s, 70s & 80s there are many re-issues. I always that that this band was underrated in the UK. Even though it has actually spent 98 weeks on the chart since first released back in 1981 when it peakes at US #9 Though not on this track back in 1987/88 Randy Jackson (of American Idol) was bass player with the band. Vocalist was Steve Perry. Journey had 18 US hits (their biggest and best being Open Arms peaking at #2 in 1982). Steve Perry had 6 solo US hits (my favourite being Oh Sherrie)
  8. Hopefully the brilliant Owl City Can't stand the other 2
  9. The BBC set it's own chart from 1958 called the BBC Top 20/30. This was itself a compilation of the charts being published by the 'Record Mirror', 'Melody Maker', 'New Musical Express' and the 'Disc and Music Echo'. The BBC chart, being an average of the others, didn't agree with any of them and the combination of figures resulted in a lot of 'tied' positions so it was not completely rare to have two 'No 1s' in any particular week and, in one instance, three of them! During the last week of August 1968 the 'Number 1' records were 'I've Gotta Get A Message To You - The Bee Gees', 'Do It Again - The Beach Boys' and 'This Guy's In Love With You - Herb Alpert'. This has been confirmed by the BBC and was indeed televised on the August 29th 'Top Of The Pops', hosted by Alan Freeman. Due to this controversy, the BMRB (British Market Research Bureau) were commissioned by the BBC and 'Record Retailer' to produce a record chart using figures from 150 sales outlets chosen at random each week from between 300 and 500 participating record selling establishments. The only drawback to this was that postal returns were used and the sample size was so big that the figures were effectively out of date by the time they were calculated. This did not change until electronic point-of-sale systems were introduced by Gallup in 1983. The new BMRB chart contained only singles, so EPs immediately disappeared from the listings, including entries listed in the previous week's chart. This led to the introduction of the 'maxi-single' which featured one track on the 'A' side and 2 or more tracks on the flip side.
  10. EPs were not to figure in the charts again until the mid-70s. On 21st September 1967 'Record Retailer' reduced it's EP listing to the 'Top 9' titles only, which it continued to list until the last EP chart was produced on 30th November 1967. The EP chart ran from November 1959 to November 1967. From November 1959 - 03 March 1960 the EP chart was that by NME and these were Top 10s. On 12 March 1960 The Record Retailer took over as the official chart which was Top 10 for one week and Top 15 on 19 March 1960 and Top 20 from 26 March 1960 onwards. On 21st September 1967 'Record Retailer' reduced it's EP listing to the 'Top 9' titles only, which it continued to list until the last EP chart was produced on 30th November 1967. My website will shortly have all the EP charts as of this time I am at the moment converting them from my database onto the web pages. Some people get confused as to what a true EP is. An EP is of singles size 7" or later included 12" It ran at a speed of 45 or 33 rpm. It had to include at least 4 different tracks (not different mixes), usually 2 on each side but occasionally 3 tracks on either side or a mixture or 2 & 3 tracks per side. 99% came in Picture sleeves and looked like mini LPs. Many were cutdown versions of albums such as 4 tracks from an album some acts had more than 1 EP of similar title which had 4 more tracks from an album For Example Beatles For Sale album produced 2 EPs - Beatles For Sale and Beatles For Sale No. 2
  11. The latest hit by Jay-Z Feat. Mr. Hudson. is not completely original It is based on the hits Forever Young by German bands Alphaville (power ballad version) in 1984 and techno version by Interactive in 1996 Alphaville's was the follow-up to Big In Japan - it wass massive in mainland Europe but flopped in the UK. The Interactive version was big both in mainland Europe and also a hit in the UK reaching #28 Interactive f2_R2p23yx8 Alphaville (original) 5h_qVpUTUM4

Season 9 of American Idol starts next Wednesday 13 January at 7.30pm on ITV2 First show is auditions from Boston. Can't wait - miles better than X-Factor.
  14. They are a band - and I love 'em Went to see them in Manchester last year - brilliant. They've lasted longer than many other bands - starting in 1994 (that's 16 years) they have had 41 hits in Germany with the majority being hits in mainland Europe. 14 UK hit singles (20 of their singles were not released here as such - only appearing on albums) - 4 top 30 albums including a #1 last year with Jumping All Over The World.
  15. 90% of urban & novelty acts plus Westlife, McFly, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Hoosiers, Blazin' Squad, Mika All the X-Factor/Pop Idol/Popstar winners apart from Leona & Girls Aloud. And that's just for starters
  16. I didn't know they had split - i just thought they were having some time out to do their own things.
  17. Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars climbing back up to #39 from #93 after 173 weeks on chart :o Lady GaGa returns to #1 knocking Joe off :cheer:

If you had the choice of one player for your favourite team during the transfer window - who would you buy For me a Man. City fan I'd buy Lionel Messi from Barcelona. That would give Man. Utd. something to think about.

  21. Best has to be Lady Gaga - Bad Romance Worst - all those Hip-Hop ones such as Dizze Rascal, Chipmunk, Flo Rida etc. along with JLS and Joe McElderry Joe McElderry's version of The Climb pales to insignificance towards the Miley Cyrus original.

Daughtry's brilliant original of What About Now only briefly charting while the rubbish Westlife version stayed on the charts. So glad that RATM has made it - Nothing against Joe It just goes to show Simon Cowell should not have picked a song that has been a recent hit to cover. It's the first time since 2004 an Ex-factor song has not graced the Christmas #1 The last time was in 2003 - Band Aid 20 - Do They Know It's Christmas Has Mikey left the forum for good- Best of Luck Mikey
