1970's singer-songwriter Lynsey De Paul died on 01 October from a brain haemorrhage. Aged 64. She had 5 hits between 1972 & 1977. Her most famous was her first - Sugar Me peaked at #5 in 1972 R.I.P. Lynsey http://worldcharts.co.uk/images/other/lynsey.jpg Here's 3 of her biggest hits Sugar Me htBfNPyKKoI Ooh I Do v1KtyU-MhqQ No Honestly kz06eCFF-oI
  2. Simon deffo made a mistake of keeping Stevie Ritchie - he clearly can't sing. Also Louie getting rid of Overload. He should have got rid of Blonde Electric or The Brooks. Best act of Louie's is the new girl group. They could be the next Little Mix
  3. I fully agree with you about Chloe - I thought it was great that she went and so disappointed when the snob was brought back. Also to replace Orla with her was even worse. Kerrianne is definitely the best for me. AS for the crowd - they'd cheer on any old rubbish.
  4. See their sticking with the 6 chair challenge for bootcamp this year.

It's been confirmed that on the next series of The Voice - Rita Ora is to replace Kylie
  6. One Direction wannabees
  7. They passed this shit through and they rejected Amy Connelly - no wonder ratings are down. :puke2: :puke2:
  8. Typical auditions again this year. Passing some right crap and rejecting some good ones. No wonder they are losing viewers again. An example they passed that stupid guy who completely wrecked a great Queen song but they rejected Amy Connolly who could really sing but was just a bit nervous. Even the audience booed the judges when they rejected her. And that Italian guy who ruined one of my favourite Otis Songs. You could hardly tell a word. If they keep on at this rate they will lose another viewer.

On last nights new chart countdown Jameela got it wrong again. She said that Lilly Wood & The Prick got the highest new entry when in fact it was Maroon 5. She should have said Lilly Wood was the highest climber as it has spent 3 weeks on the chart and climbed from #115. If they don't want to mention anything outside the Top 100 she should have said that Lilly Wood is the biggest climber this week. She didn't even give them their full name as if there was no band. Their official name is Lilly Wood & The Prick & Robin Schultz
  10. Amy Connolly is back. What a voice. Her rendition of With You from the musical Ghost had me in tears also. Just as There You'll Be does since I lost my best friend in the world last year. Thank You Amy - you deserve to win with a voice like that.

My faves are 60s & 90s 60s (especially from around 1964 on) music was just the ultimate and so diverse in its genres - with bands such as Beatles - Stones - Small Faces - The Who - Beach Boys etc and genres such as Motown, Soul & the Mod stuff 90's had brilliant dance music with Hardcore, Techno, Rave etc - admittedly mostly mainland Europe. 50's - just didn't get excited about any of the music then 70's - I thought the music was so bland and teeny orientated. Apart from Philly, Funk & the odd rock band or 2 that is. Punk was absolute crap. Best of the 70s though was Northern Soul but it didn't make it very far mainstream. 80's - best of the music was American Rock. 00's - was one of me least favourites due to all the urban and Rap rubbish. Just didn't get it at all.

Ella Henderson is set to go global with her single Ghost. She is doing better than any X-Factor contestant that finished outside the final 4. - Good luck to her. She should have won X Factor that year not talentless James Arthur. Here's how she's doing this week. Either new entries or high climbers. Australia - 4 Austria - 11 Belgium - 33 (NE) Denmark - 15 Germany - 12 Holland - 55 (NE) New Zealand - 7 Sweden - 18 Swiss - 18
  13. Even the FIA are getting in on the act. They could even penalise Rosberg for causing a collision. What do I think should happen. All 18 points should be taken away from him. It's nearly all Germans doing it. Schumacher on Damon Hill in 1994, Vettel on Webber in Hungary, now Rosberg. Typical, they just can't stand losing so they stoop to cheating. I remember Prost & Senna at McLaren years ago but at least it was at the last race, not halfway through the season. Rosberg knows that unless he cheats, if Lewis has a reliable car Lewis would win in the end hands down. No wonder the team are furious, they could have had a 1,2 collecting 43 constructors points in the end they only got 18 which will cost them quite a few million in prize money.
  14. Yes that's what I mean - that record of best ever selling song by a completely foreign language single still stands today. In October there will be a unique chart prediction with this single which I will mention nearer the time. Also this week there is another completely foreign language single at #21 although by a British band and it is a foreign language cover of a Bob Dylan song that (in English) was a #2 hit for Manfred Mann 4 years earlier.

I know we need a little more movement in the Top 100 right now but the movements in #1s is quite ridiculous. I much preferred it when some singles stay at #1 for 3 or 4 weeks or when they climbed to number one over a number of weeks like Nico & Vinz who've taken 6 weeks to get there. I hate this straight in at #1 or entering at peak positions.
  16. There 2 were records that were banned at the time by BBC in the Top 20 this week with these others just bubbling under the Top 50. 3 of them were reggae singles. Do you think records like these would still be banned 45 years on? You can check on the Top 50 HERE This was at #13 -- Max Romeo - Wet Dream vo3Mn4mDcLg This was at #18 - Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg - Je T'aime...Moi Non Plus ---- This peaked at #1 and became the biggest ever seller in the UK for a completely foreign record. GlpDf6XX_j0 Bubbling under was this -- Rita - Erotica 0RnuLLS0Rhw Also bubbling under was this double A sider Soul Sisters - Wreck A Buddy o06Sne9aME4 Versatiles - Push It In mBqYnz09tfw Seems like 1969 / 1970 were the years of the banned as there were many more then than there are these days.
  17. This makes record companies a dictatorship as they are trying to tell us what we should or shouldn't buy or listen to. :nono:
  18. No - #76 should be the worst after #101 as 101-200 are not even published. Anyone got a list of singles that peaked at #100?
  19. The should do this with singles also.

I am highly obsessive about the charts - but not just in the UK but worldwide especially UK, USA, all the European charts & Australia. This is because I like to see how my favourite acts are doing in other countries and all the other good stuff out there apart from UK & USA. I think the UK charts are better now as they are slower moving unlike what they were like 10 or 15 years ago when a track charted at it's peak one week and 2 weeks later it had gone, and another couple of weeks the single deleted. I think including downloads was the best thing that happened to the UK charts. I also hate cut-down charts like the BBC has just the Top 40. I like them complete such as the full UK Top 100 which is official. As well as UK & USA, even Ireland has a full Top 100 now as does Germany, Holland, and Australia. France even has the Top 200. I am also obsessive about archive charts from as far back as possible in different countries. I even have charts from UK & USA as far back as 1940. Also it's very rare I listen to UK radio stations - I usually listen to Radio 538 (Holland) or Antenne Bayern (Germany)
  21. And I thought that the UK was supposed to be at the forefront of the music. Apart from UK & US music it seems we are at the back. And R1 wonder why listening figures keep dropping as people can now listen to many foreign stations online. One way to help is to release everything in UK US & mainland Europe at the same time
  22. Typical UK. Yet if it's a US track especially an urban track radio is all over it. Although even US country doesn't get a look in either like it used to. Look at Manchester's own Rixton - 19 weeks on the US chart but only charted here 8 weeks ago. I wonder how UK acts would do in other countries if they had the same attitude. It would serve record companies right if mainland Europe had this attitude and UK acts didn't do so well. Until the UK changes it attitude, I think mainland Europe should adopt the same.
  23. Just why are the UK so far behind mainland Europe releasing European singles. Here are a few examples: Nico & Vinz - Am I Wrong -- 8 months behind Klingande - Jubel -- was 9 months behind Klangkarussell - Sonnentanz -- was nearly 1 year behind Bakermat - Vandaag-- is nearly 1 year behind Stromae - Papaoutai -- was released last year Enrique Iglesias feat Sean Paul, Descemer Bueno & Gente De Zona – Bailando -- 5 months behind I'd just like to know why it takes the UK record companies so long to release singles

Nico & Vinz is a Norwegian singing/songwriting duo composed of Nico Sereba and Vincent Dery. They formed in 2009 as Envy and are based in Oslo.[1] They changed their name to to Nico & Vinz in January 2014 after the international success of "Am I Wrong". Am I Wrong was originally released in 2013 (show how far behind the UK is when releasing European music) when the band was called Envy. It peaked at #2 in Norway, Denmark & Sweden also at #5 in Finland. I got my copy just before last Christmas. It was even a US hit long before release in the UK. This is the followup (In Your Arms) that has already been a big hit in Scandinavia. (Shows how far behind UK are). cn68jvqLHe4

The new #1 from Nico & Vinz - Am I Wrong is doing great worldwide. Actually it is not the only version - It was originally released under their previous name - Envy nearly 9 months ago Confusing or what? Here's the cover of mine: http://www.worldcharts.co.uk/images/other/envy.jpg
