Exactly right Andrew....it was far too "middle of the road"...just too bland for first single. Lucie deserves much better than 79...it's a disgrace quite frankly.
  3. Passionate you :D
  4. I just can't stop listening to this song...it is just so utterly amazing. It could have done for the album what What You're Made Of did for Breathe In. After listening to the album about 15 times now, I still can't believe Last Year was even considered for release... grrr. I love it of course as Lucie has never made a bad song, it was just such a wrong move. Sorry for the rant, Ive been listening to the album all day and i cant help being annoyed at the shoddy promotion and management of the whole project so far (except in Holland...but they had an explosive first single to grab the publics attention). If I had my way I would release these songs 1) The Same Side (just stunning all the way through) 2) Sinking In (very commercial although not one of my absolute favourites) 3) Alone (Is it just me or this quite "Don't Look Back"-ish?? anyway, it's really catchy), either this song or Something About You - haven't quite decided yet. 4) Passionate You  (Again... this is just amazing, my 2nd favourite song on the album and so powerful) I heard there were rumours that Place To Hide was being considered for third single...as much as I love the track...it's just not commercial enough for a release and I hope they don't make the same mistake in releasing such an understated song like they did with Last Year.

That's just ridiculous!! thank god mine came with the booklet. Passionate You is definitely my 2nd favourite so far behind the Same Side :D

I got it today too. So far my favourite is definitely the title track. Ever since I heard it for the first time last year in glasgow it has been one of my favourite Lucie songs. After listening to the album though there doesn't seem to be many songs that jump out and hit you...like there were in the first album (all of the 6 singles released from it for example). I'm worried that radio just won't pick up ANY of the songs...especially in the UK :( Lucie really deserves so much success though as she is one of my favourite artists
  7. Platinum is 300,000 shipped copies, just clearing that up :)

Hey Mikey, would you be able to post me all the info you have on Beverley Knight - Voice (like sales, positon, total sales etc. if you know them) Thanks :)
  14. Ahhhhhhhhhh, I must have missed that!! That makes sense now!! I don't suppose you know how much Up! sold worldwide in 2002 when it was released in November  I've been trying to get the "official" total numbers or close to it for months!! I can't find it anywhere

Beverley is BRILL!!!! Who's Gonna Save yOur Soul and Angels (live) are just stunning :D
  16. My last post stated the actual SALES of Up! in 4 countries, not the shipments. The number would be even higher if it was just the shipments!! I'm positive the 8.4 million is wrong.... makes me wonder whether there's any other mistakes on the list..

I LOVED the last series of X-Factor but these two artists just bore the hell outta me!! where on earth has Brenda gone?? She was easily the most talented out of the whole lot!! It's a shame shayne had to be so sexy as to get the teen vote lol

Believe me people....if you like a few of Beverley's songs and are unsure whether to get this album..you HAVE to take the plunge and purchase it. She's an amazing artist and the album is brill :D

I think they have really underestimated Beverley!! (Well I hope they have anyway!!). It's a great album and deserves top twenty at least!!
  21. Believe me....I'm well aware how difficult it is to calculate the total sales for albums but those figures are just waaaaay off  , and I'm not even saying this as a deluded fan (like the COUNTLESS Britney fans who grossly inflate her album sales  ) Before Up!'s release Come On Over had sold 34-35 million copies worldwide, and that was from the record company itself!! It hasn't been re-certified globally in years and I guarantee it would have sold a good few more in the last couple of years. I'm surprised the Guineess Book of Hit Singles and Albums put it at such a lower number... And as far as Up goes....It has sold: Over 5.5 million soundscan sales (certified 11 times platinum cos there's 2 cd's, the only place that certifies it as a double album). It is double diamond in Canada which is another 2 million sales. It also sold 900,000+ copies in Germany (can't remember exact number, it might have crossed a million), plus another 750,000+ in the UK. From just those 4 countries alone there are over the counter sales of at least 9 million. It was also very successful in a lot of other countries such as France, Austria, Switzerland, South Africa and Japan which I don't have the exact sales figures for. This is why I'm pretty sure the 8.4 million quoted in this list is incorrect...
  22. There's no way Shania Twain's Up! has only sold over 8 million. I know for a fact that it had sold 11,183,000 when Mag Weekly were compiling the top 100 albums (of the year i assume) in their November 18th 2003 issue!! And I'm sure it's sold a good bit more than that now in 2006!! And why isn't Shania Twain's Greatest Hits on the list either??? It's sold over 5 million worldwide at the end of 2005 when it had only been out a few months!!! It's sold over 6 million now approximately
