Songs That Got By The Radio Censors
Didn't The Shamen have to alter the lyrics of Ebenezer Good?

Rewind back to 1991 - 17 years ago!
I would agree with some posters, this is a weak looking top 40 but then I think the early 90's was a poor time for chart music generally (in England anyway). I'm also surprised to see Mariah Carey in there, i didn't think she made it quite so early (she must have been young). Also this chart must be just weeks away from being taken over by Bryan Adams Robin Hood theme tune?? :naughty:

First CD album you bought?
I bought TWO CD's shortly after getting my first ever CD player (for my 13th birthday I think). They were Waking Up The Neighbours by Bryan Adams (containing the perenial number 1 Everything I Do I Do For You) and We Can't Dance by Genesis. Two good albums that I still listen to.

emo
To me Emo is just another media 'label'. No different to labelling some bands 'punk' and others 'metal' or 'grunge' or whatever. I actually rate some of the bands that are labelled as Emo. Jimmy Eat World are a fantastic sounding band who just seem to play good ole' rock n' roll. My Chemical Romance are likewise an excellent band and Black Parade sounds more like 'Iron Maiden' than any other 'Emo' band I've heard. Merry Christmas !

Led Zeppelin return to the stage
I agree Touts are all scum ! By the way yesterdays papers are full of rumours that the Led Zep world tour is almost definitely 'on'. Plant is apparently up 4 it (he was the only one who was previously stalling). I'll be dragging along the missus to witness musical greatness ! :P

100 greatest Guitar players
Obviously some great guitarists are on there altho personally I would have thought Ritchie Blackmore and Sambora were worthy of higher positions. As previous posters said, sheer technique on its own doesn't equate to being the best as Music is an art form and emotion and dedication plays a big part. I would argue that Van Halen is technically better than say Dave Gilmour however I prefer Gilmour's playing (obviously they are both f'kin amazing musicians). Also we should remember that these guitarists are mostly playing stuff that they wrote themselves and therefore an element of 'I'll compose only what I can actually play' comes into it. I'm surprised Steve Rothery of Marillion wasn't in there as I think he is an exceptional guitarist and this may raise a few eyebrows but I once saw Chris Rea play live and he truly blew me away with his masterful use of the guitar, especially the slide guitar. I would rate both these two above maybe 70% of that list!
