I'm getting quite concerned now about the outcome. Not so much for myself or people of my age - but for the younger generation(s). I just think to leave is absolute madness and I've been quite surprised at some of the people I know and come into contact with - who I felt sure had more sense - are going to vote out.

Got a Brexit leaflet through the door today and one of the points they were making out was "the £350m we spend on the EU could be used for the NHS" or words to that effect. Note though the word 'COULD' was used - not 'WILL'. Like someone put on FB - 'If you think the NHS is safe in the hands of Johnson, Gove and IDS .... I have some magic beans to sell you'. The leaflet went in the bin after I let the cat play with it for a bit!
  3. I know some weren't singles - I was just talking songs in general. A lot of songs that didn't make it as singles were FAR superior than some that escaped as singles. I cite as obvious examples - Reach Out, Beautiful World, What You Believe In and the lovely - Like I Never Loved You At All - all immensely superior to the awful I'd Wait For Life (which was essentially a solo song - and a bit of a vanity piece). I quite liked the video to it though.

  5. Well here are my top 10 ... and in : 1 Patience 2 Up All Night 3 Rule The World 4 Said It All 5 Shine 6 Never Forget 7 Back For Good 8 Pray 9 She Said 10 Reach Out Most disliked (in any order): Promises I Found Heaven WCIWUWU Once You've Tasted Love Love Ain't Here Anymore A Million Love Songs Oh ... and how could I forget - the dirge that is I'd Wait For Life! I would have included It Only Takes A Minute - but it has been removed from Room 101 due to that fabulous Tangoed version on the reunion tour.
  6. They're two that would be better served melted down and turning into matching ash-trays as well. Even when I liked TT they were dreadful songs.
  7. I think you are. Its an abomination of a song!
  8. I'd give RTW 9/10 and Patience 10/10.
  9. Hi Bond Bug - Dylan was right - my post wasn't in response to you - it was in response to Dylan (but Dylan - I wasn't having a go at you either really).

    That's feasible! Thanks Iz!

We're almost at the end of a binge-fest of House of Cards and we intend going on to GOT next (not seen an episode yet). If we average three episodes a night - how long will it take us to come up to date?

I know I'm in the minority but I'm loving Tracey tonight. 'I'm a single mum! Amy's got no-one but me!' LOL.
  13. I don't think one can compare Westlife to Take That though. I think (one of) the great things about Take That was when Gary said as they broke up in 96 - something like 'who knows - we may come back in 10 years' and they did. I think if Westlife do wait a full 10 years - they'll be filling quite small venues (and there's nothing wrong with that) but I doubt they'd come back after 10 years and fill Wembley. Take That had a very, very loyal fanbase who 'never forgot'. Also - as well as the original material they were coming back with - for all that it was horrible for Take That fans (and Barlow fans in particular) Robbie's constant sniping kept them in the public awareness. People like myself - who didn't really consider or take notice of Take That the first time around - was rooting for what was seen as the underdog - and in many ways was glad to see the slightly smug smirk of Rob's face.

I actually prefer BCS to BB although I love both. I love the opportunity to see more of the fabulous Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut. I've already got my Mike Coaster and am waiting for my 'Not A Chance' tee-shirt to arrive.
  15. That almost suggests that you want everyone to agree with you. Well what's the point of having a discussion if everyone agrees! I could understand if we were making comments about other users - but its about the act and the song (the song - I agree is very pleasant - and you're right - Gary's vocal is obviously far better and surely the only choice to lead on it) but it does seem that you want everyone to agree on absolutely everything you say! :)
  16. I actually agree with that bit! I still don't know what to make of that dance the two of them did while Gary sang Flaws. Don't know how Gary kept a straight face!
  17. I don't think that is uncalled for. Can you honestly, hand-on-heart, say that (as brilliant a song as it was) Patience would have troubled the chart if it had been released by Gary alone? The thing that brought Gary back into the public eye was the brand Take That - and that had to be Jason, Howard and Mark as well as Gary. And I have no doubt at all that Gary wouldn't have been able to sell out at Southport's Floral Hall Pavilion - let alone Wembley Stadium. I actually have great respect for Howard and Mark (moreso Mark) but I have immense respect for Jason - he knew when the job had been done.
  18. Very well put BB! And in a very witty context too! :D I still don't see why Gary doesn't just cut himself off and go 100% solo and make all collaborations i.e., [insert flavour of the day] featuring Gary Barlow. Having said that - I wish Mark and Howard would have the dignity to say - look Gary - we've done our bit - we've managed to get you back into the public eye - but we've made a packet and we'll now leave with dignity. Instead - they seem to be happy to be a totally unnecessary pair of earrings on a buffalo - and they're not even gold earrings. I think this is why Jay left - he saw what is now clearly obvious.
  19. Of course they can! And its easy money for them isn't it? Just turn up and take the money. I'm sure I'd do the same! Well we all would! :)
  20. To be honest though - if its only Gary's vocal you can hear - maybe it should have been released as a Gary Barlow/Sigma collaboration and left the 'TT' bit out of it. It seems like its just the popular boy at sixth form inviting his uglier, less popular friends along to the party in the hope that they'll cop-off!

I'm assuming that somehow - Tony will be the suspect. I'm wondering why they conveniently killed the character off. The Platts weren't the only ones to have access to Gail's manhole after all!
  22. Sounds a bit boring to be honest - on all fronts. It seems neither fish nor fowl! At least Hey Boy was honest. Then again - I appear to be the only person who actually had any time for Hey Boy.

I'm a bit irked by that actually - I thought John Middleton has been a stand-out in an already excellent Emmerdale. It looks like there's more good stuff to come from him too.
  25. For those who haven't seen the JR interview I'm talking about (or you'd like a refresher) here it is. I have to say - I love the bit with the donuts! 'What's goin' on with this one 'ere then?'
