Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
I don't get what's so bad about Stephanie! After her pep-talk (read - speaking the plain bloody truth) to Gemma - I really like Stephanie. Gemma is just AWFUL!

Where is all this 'morality' coming from? Surely showmances are a vital part of BB! Don't get anyone sticking their beaks in about it.

Gemma's one of the biggest shit-stirrers in there. Mind you ... there is a lot of shit to stir! She redeemed herself slightly when she nominated John though ... and saying why she did it.

Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
It comes to something when one of my favourite contestants in this thing is the Scotty fella! I thought I'd hate him (not a fan of GS, TOWIE, MIC, etc) and I suppose I had pre-judged but I'm now finding him quite pleasant (I think his reaction to the SPAM and mashed potato endeared me a little). In fact - all the blokes this year (with the exception of John) are OK. All the women on the other hand .... just wow! And I mean 'wow' in a truly bad way!

She was screaming like a harpie so much I gave up bothering to try listening. I did read something on another site and found it rather concerning - but as I said - I couldn't hear much over her screeching.

Unfortunately - the way she went about it only made him appear to be a bit of a victim. True - she was spot-on about him - but she could have gone about things in a more mature way - and been respected for it. For me though - I only heard the swearing and the stupid screaming and ultimately - someone I'd like be see shut of!

I'm expecting Gemma to come out with 'I think I've got malaria'.

John's a two-faced twonk! He reminds me a bit of James from a few years back.

Coronation Street
Its probably due to bad writing for the character - but the way she is - I can't wait to see the back of her. There are at least half a dozen female characters in Corrie right now who are more watchable (and certainly less annoying) than Carla. For me - the only character more annoying is Fiz!

You beat me to it! This series has been a total snore-fest so far.

Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
I think we could safely agree on that!  I think I'm giving zelebrities more credit than they deserve! Leaving Winston aside now (and I think he deserves to be left in the past along with his views) what did you think of Kristina announcing her pregnancy to millions of viewers? A tad insensitive to Mrs Cohen wasn't it?

Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
Surely then - Gemma, Christopher, John, and at least all the British house-mates should already have been aware of his statement ... and yet from the look of horror on their faces ... one could almost believe this was the first time they'd ever heard it!

Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
But they were exactly that - they were statements about themselves - something that Joe Public couldn't really give a stuff about. I don't give a shit about how many hair transplants Maloney has had, how many boob jobs Daniella has had, how many members of 1D that someone dated - but I do care that someone holds those views about Gay persons adopting children. The 'secret' that was revealed in Winston's comment was something that a lot of us have a view on (and for those of us with an ounce of common-sense - find totally abhorrent).
-
Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
From what I've read about the man and what was revealed in that 'twist' (or the 'secrets' thing that led to it) I find him rather distasteful. Sure - he's allowed to have his opinions but to make a claim that a child being adopted by gay parents is the same as 'child-abuse' is just obscene. Having said that - this was something that was said in the past - and I don't see why this rather horrible comment was brought to light in the house (at this early stage). All the other 'secrets' that were revealed were rather innocuous - but his was truly contentious and out of kilter with the other rather silly secrets. They could have had a more harmless secret to reveal for the 'game' but they had to use this one. Don't get me wrong - I think he should have gone (and would have done quite soon - I still think the public had voted Nancy out just because she's so bloody boring) but the house-mates should have been left to discover Winston's views over time - not have it thrust in their faces at this point. The whole thing (as ever with BB and IAC for that matter) was orchestrated.

I'm both annoyed and a little bit in love with Gemma in equal measures! I'm hoping the reason she's angling for a romance and bedshare between that girl she was talking to and Bellend is because she wants a bed to herself! She's increasingly reminding me of Diana Dors as well. Good gosh - if they ever do a TV film of Diana Dors' life - they've got to consider Gemma to portray her.

Someone put it correct on another site when they said Scotty has 'bellend' written all over him!

Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
Its all a little boring right now. Its too noisy. I want to hear what people are saying. The only bits I've liked so far are David talking to Angie and John, Darren and Daniella in the box.

Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17
It was in an absolutely charming way. He was NOTHING like what people were led to believe (given his weird wedding to Liza Minelli - and perhaps his slightly odd looks). He was loved by everyone else in there, threw himself into every task he was asked to do (was bloody good in some of his bush-tucker trials as well), told entertaining stories about his oddly-named house-maid, never made fun or was nasty to other camp-mates. In all - he's probably in the top 5 of the best ever IAC contestants.

Agatha Christie's: And Then There Were None
In the film versions (and the 'modified' original play), Lombard isn't really Lombard, he's a friend of the real Lombard who committed suicide. When 'faux' Lombard found the letter from Mr U N Owen - he went along and pretended to be Lombard to see if this Mr Owen had anything to do with his friend's suicide. The crime Vera is accused of is of murdering her sister's fiance (although we discover that she actually took the blame for her sister and was innocent also). When it appears that there are only the two of them alive, on the beach, after the discovery of the Doctor's body - 'faux' Lombard persuades Vera to pretend to shoot him (as he suspects that one of the others is still alive and is watching from the house). Vera then makes her way to the house where she is confronted by the Judge who is sitting in an armchair in the living room - with a noose prepared for Vera to hang herself. She says 'what if I refuse to hang myself' he says she will die by hanging anyway - as the only survivor on an island with nine dead bodies - she will automatically be suspected of the killings and will be sent to the gallows anyway. He confesses that he is going to die and has taken some poison in his whiskey. At that point 'faux' Lombard walks in and the Judge dies - his last words are 'should never trust a woman'. BTW - the 'red herring' that was responsible for the eighth little indian's death (the Doctor) was that after the Judge had gained his confidence - he had been suckered into his plan to 'to root out the real killer' by colluding in the Judge's death (none of the others bothered to check that the Judge was dead - they just took the Doctor's word for it. The TV version we've just seen was largely true to the original novel's ending (although the message in a bottle bit was left out). I believe in the book that the message doesn't turn up until much later so the 10 deaths are a mystery for quite a long time. After watching the TV production (which I enjoyed immensely) I just had to watch the 1945 film again (I've seen it a dozen times - the touches of humour in it are fantastic - mainly provided by the Judge and the Butler. I also went to see an AM-DRAM production just last year which had the film ending (it was a good production too - by the Wigan Little Theatre players).

Celebrity Big Brother ● Series 17 ● Odds
He came fourth but he really should have won - he was by far the most entertaining (without being nasty) in a fairly strong field that year. From what I remember - there was a bit of a furore at his low placing (I think there was some sort of confusion over the voting in or out). This may be the first time I'll watch CBB regularly (for as long as he's in it) he's certainly the most interesting out of that bunch of numpties (of six of the others that I've actually heard of). I should imagine he'll have a lot of votes coming from Merseyside as he is hugely popular there due to a lot of work he does in the region - and in the North West in general.

Coronation Street
I'm with you re Carla. I do like the actress but the character drives me mad ... I just don't get the love for her. Having said that - Leanne drives me up the wall (Jane Danson is one of the best actresses in soap but Leanne is a PITA). I adore Mary though - I wish she'd see through Brendan. I did love Todd tonight - especially his request to Zeedan regarding a possible kiss! Having said all of that - I'm too tied up in Emmerdale at the moment to be bothered one way or another about the other soaps. I love Robert!
