'The Walking Dead' | Season 6
I'm sticking with it as I want to see who sounded that horn at the end of the episode. On the whole though - that could have been done in less than 70 minutes - it was very, very slow and a little bit boring. Yes I know I'm in the minority in thinking that - but for me it just gets a bit worse with every series.

Doctor Foster
I enjoyed it (and Suranne Jones was excellent) but I found the final episode a bit of a damp squib! I'm not sure I found Suranne's character entirely worthy of being liked. I don't like the way she brought her son into the argument! Also - the dinner party - was there any reason to bring that family's son into the conflict? She seemed a bit of a drama queen who put the importance of her relationship with her partner before the importance of her relationship with her child! No mother would do that - unless they were a bit deranged!

Coronation Street
I'm so glad Tim and Sally got married - the best scenes of the night.

Coronation Street
I think he's definitely dead.

Coronation Street
David/Jack has been pure magic on Corrie tonight.

Jeff Lynne's E.L.O. - When I Was A Boy
Can't wait! I remember going to see them on the Out of the Blue tour at Wembley in 1978. In the days when you posted your money off with a letter - and your tickets came a little while after - no hassle, no mark-ups, none of the ridiculous shit you get today. Our only problem was how we were going to get down to London. Luckily - one of our group had to back out and someone with a car stepped in in exchange for his ticket! I love Jeff Lynne. My ELO albums are the only vinyl records I have left - I just can't bring myself to part with them - even though I have nothing to play them on.

Coronation Street
I'm a bit bored with Roy now so I just sort of switch off when he's around. Gail was fab tonight! I was hoping that the copper wasn't married and may be a future boyfriend for her - imagine David's panic!
-
Coronation Street
There probably were - but to sustain such a high standard over a whole hour was quite a feat!

Coronation Street
I have to agree. When I saw the Orient Express them of the party in Roy's Cafe - I was hoping for some sort of Murder on the Orient Express in that somehow almost everyone was involved in killing/disposing of Callum. There's still time I suppose! Truly disappointed though that it looks like we were all right in the writers were going to have Sally and Tim split up and Tim eventually ending up snuggled between Anna's Devil's Dumplings!

An Inspector Calls
Lord of the Flies was a very good read (I found it rather depressing though). I thought the same of the film.

An Inspector Calls
My son did OMAM and AIC two years ago. I remember mine from absolutely ages ago - Pride and Prejudice and Henry VI Part 1. There were other texts we had to read as well - Lord of the Flies and The Day of the Triffids were two of them. I think I liked The Day of the Triffids the best. And I'm not going to say which year this was!!!

An Inspector Calls
I've only seen the Alastair Sim version, a couple of am-dram productions of it and the BBC TV series with Nigel Davenport and Margaret Tyzack as Mr and Mrs Birling and Bernard Hepton as The Inspector. I thought tonight's production was brilliant (although I've never been disappointed with any version of it). David Thewlis was terrific though.

Coronation Street
The character has come to a complete and utter standstill. Its so still its going backwards. It comes to something when I start to empathize more with Tracey than I do with Carla.

Coronation Street
I think Jennie McAlpine has to be one of the worst performers in Corrie. She adds absolutely nothing. She is severely limited to say the least. Tim again for me was brilliant. I must be one of the few people also - who actually like Dev - I find him hilarious (of course he isn't one of life's greatest actors - but given the right situation - he's good value for money). I cannot abide Carla. I feel sorry for Alison King - she must be so pissed off with her character as well.

Coronation Street
The scenes with Sally, Sally & Kev, Sally Kev and Sophie and especially the scenes with Sally and Tim were without doubt the best thing about tonight's episodes. I'm finding Carla incredibly tedious now.

He got the results he needed to get into the University of his choice but he's still dithering about whether he wants to go or not. I think he should as there's not much out there - also I want him to expand his circle of friends - even if he only benefits from the social aspect I think it would be a good thing (its the only thing of use I got out of my uni days). Having said that - I don't know whether its worth coming out in three years time with £50K of debt hanging around his neck - and STILL there be not much out there in the way of decent employment. Anyway - he's 18 next week - so it ain't my problem any more! I'm applying for jobs further from home now (I want to move as far away from Wigan as I can). If the world were to be given an enema - they'd stick the end of it in Wigan!

Its peed down in Wigan all day today! It started to go sunny and warm around 3.30 this afternoon but I figured if I hung my washing out it would piss down again! Went to the launderette to use their dryers instead ... and it stayed sunny after all. There was a bloody big wasp in the launderette as well so I didn't hang around much! Its been ages since I went to a launderette - couldn't believe that for a whole quid you only get 10 minutes lousy drying time! I don't half whinge don't I?

Coronation Street
Been away so have just caught up with this week's episodes. I thought tonight's were good. The acting from the people who play Tony and Eileen (and Todd) was good. I thought Tina O'Brien was particularly good (in all this week's episodes). Paddy McGuiness was awful as usual (the whole camping thing was pants to be honest). Shayne Ward was actually OK (not brilliant - but looking like Laurence Olivier when you compare him it to Sarah Harding). What have I seen the girl who played Paddy McGuiness's daughter? She looks and sounds familiar but I just can't place it.

The Official Labour Foot-Shooting Thread
Another thing - if the other three are saying - vote anyone but Corbyn - why don't two of them withdraw (I'm assuming it is their right to do so) so that one of them will definitely stand a chance against Obi- Wan? I'm assuming its because they're too vain and they're really saying 'vote anyone other than Corbyn ... as long as its ME'.

The Official Labour Foot-Shooting Thread
Unless you have an opposition party that opposes - what's the point? Before Jeremy came along I was behind Burnham (he's a local lad) but I've gone right off him lately (the letter to Prince Charles didn't help). Burnham and the other three aren't labour - they're faux-Conservative ... so you may as well have the real thing. Besides - no matter who is leader - Labour won't get in for another 10 years at least anyway. I do hope Obi-Wan gets it!
