No Offence
It seems to be billed as a comedy drama - but to me its more of a plain, hard-faced drama with some witty lines. I'm enjoying it. The senior female police officer reminds me of a blond Katy Brand.

No Offence
Is anyone watching this? Its so good.

Emmerdale
Emmerdale is easily the best soap at the moment (I've even got my sister watching regularly now she's normally an avid EE fan but she says its been a bit lacking lately - I can't say one way or the other as I don't watch it). Shame Emmerdale misses out when it comes to awards time.

Emmerdale
That was a brilliant slap-and-a-half that the floozie gave Marlon!

Newzoids
I'm enjoying tonight's show too. Its a shame the voices aren't that great (with a couple of exceptions) but the scripts are OK. I loved Miranda too! And the Barlowzoid of course. I loved the Roy Hodgson and Rooney one too. The Evan Davis one is a little cruel! I mean Yoda or what?

Libyan Refugees
Wherever they've come from - they must be desperate to get away from wherever they are. The whole world is a shit place to be though I suppose.
-
Libyan Refugees
Farage is just a hate-monger. Full stop! The Libyan refugees aren't trying to 'get here' they're trying to 'flee Libya'. If I was there right now - I'd be doing my best to get the hell out of there. To be honest - I have nothing but admiration for them. To risk life and limb and face a sea journey of thousands of miles in something that only resembles a boat - you have to be truly desperate. I get the shakes at the thought of getting on the Isle of Man ferry! If the 'man on the street' thinks that Farage is his friend - then the man on the street is an idiot!

THE BIG HOUSING DEBATE
Why am I doing this? Editing but going into the 'quote' option! Stupid cow!
-
THE BIG HOUSING DEBATE
Yes - I resent my taxes going straight into the pockets of unscrupulous private landlords too! As for moving where the cheaper properties are - they are usually in places where there is little work. As for 'leaving a property to your kids' - forget it! When you become old you'll have to sell it to pay for your care home fees - so your kids start off at square one anyway!
-
THE BIG HOUSING DEBATE
Plus - you'd have to move to somewhere like Nelson & Colne or Accrington or somewhere like that! Its a vicious circle! The housing position has just got too out of control. Its time to face the fact that a huge amount of people (hard working as they may be) will NEVER own a home. What could be done is to ensure that there is affordable, decent rental accommodation - and for employers to be enforced to pay employees the 'living wage'. Sadly it'll never happen.
-
THE BIG HOUSING DEBATE
Of course falling prices will make it easier for some - but I doubt many on minimum wage will suddenly find themselves able to buy - they'll be stuck in the rental market for the rest of their lives.
-
THE BIG HOUSING DEBATE
As long as there are enough people in this country who will NEVER be in a position to even dream about owning a house (and there are millions of them) - then landlords will always buy up housing stock - the fact that the more there are means the prices go down is just a bonus for people adding to their 'portfolio'.

Newzoids
The Gary Barlow one (whilst quite amusing) was out of place really as it was old news. However - now that it has been disclosed that he and Howard the Duck and 'Ickle Mark haven't paid a penny back (despite Barlow's fans insisting he has) we can hopefully look forward to some fresh Barlowzoids in the near future! And with far better lyrics than the national treasure himself could come up with!

Finding Neverland musical
Well you want your ears testing!

Finding Neverland musical
To be honest Milly (with the exception of perhaps three or four) I HATE all musicals! They're just not my thing. For me to like a musical I have to either like ALL of the songs without exception - or for the film (or play) to be a fabulous story in its own right (The Producers, Singin' In The Rain). Give me a good old fashioned scary movie any day of the week It doesn't help that I'm one of the few people who just don't get the whole Peter Pan thing (I hated reading the thing to my son when he was little) I just find the whole thing totally boring. Oddly enough I like a lot of the people involved in the Broadway musical (Weinstein, Kelsey Grammer, Bryan Cranston) so I'm glad its going to be a success for their sakes.

Finding Neverland musical
There was nothing trashing about that post. The songs are light and fluffy - what's wrong with that? Come on - line up the songs in this against say - the songs in 'Cabaret' - there is no comparison! The songs in FN are lightweight pop songs - nothing more. I'm not saying they're bad - just lightweight.

Finding Neverland musical
I think critics like the song content of their musicals to be (for want of better words) 'heavy and substantial' they don't like lightweight/fluffy/nonsense songs (pop songs I suppose), they like the musical and lyrical content to really tie in with the story as a whole and not just be 'incidental' (which is what I think they believe the Kennedy/Barlow songs to be). I agree in a sense - but in another - I think its a bit snobby. If Eliot and Gary's songs are a bit forgettable and throwaway - so what - they are apt for the time. Hey - we've long gone past those heady days of the 'true' musical (The King and I, Sound of Music, South Pacific) - musicals have moved on as have their audiences (some may say for the worse) but they have moved on. We don't have time to register and cogitate a deep and meaningful score anymore - and why should we? These are throwaway times as is our art it appears. Anyway - I think the critics have done the show a favour with their bad reviews - we all love to prove a critic wrong.

Newzoids
I thought the Hopkins voice was totally rubbish - but I liked the sketch. Some of the sketches did miss - but I'd still say this is at least on a part with Spitting Image in its early days (and I remember SI from its beginnings - before it went downhill).
-
Newzoids
I thought tonight's show was better than last week (but I liked last week's as well). Paul Hollywood, Clarkson and the doctor from Embarrassing Bodies were the funniest for me.

THE BIG HOUSING DEBATE
It doesn't matter how many new homes are built - I doubt very few first-time buyers will get their hands on them (those that do will probably be sons and daughters of already established property developers and are just starting their own 'portfolio'). They'll all end up in the 'buy-to-let' market within a few years .

Top Gear
I can't stand Top Gear (unfortunately I've seen a few episodes as my son loves the bloody thing (hates Clarkson - loves the show)) From what I've seen I'd like to see someone like Phil Glenister have a go.
