Downton Abbey
Rather splendid episode tonight! Raabit getting the upper hand with the preposterous Bricker (after he'd finally realised Bricker was after getting into Cora's corsets rather than getting Isis's collar off!) Thank goodness Bunting has gone (even though it was Fellowes' fault for making what should have been a very sympathetic character an absolute harpie!) The only story that still holds my attention is Edith and the Marigold Dilemma! Couldn't give a stuff about Bates & Anna - I half hope that both of them get locked up for killing Green! Love Thomas - if only because he's absolutely drop-dead-gorgeous to look at - even with the rather ill look he has at present! Love Moseley because he's just the sweetest character in the show and Kevin Doyle does a fabulous job playing him.

The Apprentice • SERIES 10
I agree. I don't believe for a moment that the girls' product was taken up by anyone - they just flipped a coin in the end to see which one they'd make a lie up for. The boys' product was possibly slightly worse (purely because of the whole 'camera on a shirt' thing being a bit pervy at least). But those shoulder things on the girls jacket was just awful - no way did any company buy that! I fell asleep during bits of last night's show to be honest - caught up with it today. I think its absolutely dreadful. Its just X-Factor with losers in a different field.

Stephen reminds me of the gorgeous Andre Braugher from Homicide: Life on the Street. http://www.nndb.com/people/531/000024459/braugher2-sized.jpg

'The Walking Dead' | Season 5
I loved the opening episode of Series 5. Restored my faith in the program. I'm glad that they didn't drag the Terminus thing out for too long (although I don't think we've seen the end of the leader). I'm loving Carol.

Emmerdale
I was hugely disappointed that it was Jai! I think my idea of Rachel would have been much better! I've got some great ideas for Corrie as well!!!!

Emmerdale
It seems to be too obvious for it to be Sam. Also - the hooded figure that clobbered Charity seemed to look (to me) to have a womanly shape! So who the hell it is I've no idea - perhaps its Rachel!!!!

Coronation Street
... and those jam jars really did just look like jam jars covered in rags with a few weeds poking out the top. I'm hoping they're going to do Steve's storyline justice - the actor is up to it - but is the writing????

Emmerdale
Well she couldn't talk her way out of that one could she? I really like Emma Atkins but Charity had to face the music!

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Its a little 1D-like but that's no bad thing is it?

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Heard the song this morning and thought it was OK. Definitely better than The Flood. Gary's come up with a pretty good song.

Coronation Street
To be fair though - Anne Kirkbride has never been known for her acting skills (and her crying is just awful - creases me up with laughter) but her comedy never lets people down. She is one of the Street's 'must stay' characters! http://www.holymoly.com/sites/default/file...99888379-31.gif

Jason Orange quits band!
BIB - that's why these 'in-ears' are used though. In the past I'd agree that singing in harmony (particularly live) is a VERY difficult thing to do (I know - I've tried it) but the 'in-ears' make it incredibly easy as it blocks out the other singers so you can concentrate on your own part. No-one is saying that someone who only sings isn't serious about music. I hope that when they take to the stage for their concerts - that they do just sing - and not try to play instruments as they did on The Circus Tour (that bit for me was the only bit of the tour that let it down).

Jason Orange quits band!
I think 'great' is a bit of a stretch. Even Gary commented something to the contrary when Howard said 'we're like a proper band' (on the part of the Circus tour when they did the group set). Don't get me wrong - as a foursome (even fivesome) Take That are superb entertainers - and who knows - as a threesome they may carry on as so - but really there is only Gary who is a musician. The others are just playing at it (oddly enough - the nearest one to Gary for musical ability - with an instrument - was actually Jason).

Surely that's what session singers are employed for though - especially in a band where only one plays an instrument.

Jason Orange quits band!
It sounds so mercenary when you put it like that! I bet your comment would leave Howard feeling a trifle crest-fallen too!

Until its return ... a little something to be going on with.

The Driver
Is anyone else watching this three-parter? Gripping viewing and David Morrissey is just brilliant in it (with excellent support from Ian Hart).

Jason Orange quits band!
I wish Jason all the best, like you I felt he was the moral compass of the group. He's a little funny take on it though - I'm sure the lads would have a laugh too! http://www.holymoly.com/music/news/jason-o...aving-take70733

EastEnders
Me and my sister thought that too (it was because sister was visiting that I watched EE last night). Sharon's first hair-do was fine - befitting a woman of her age (I'm a firm believer that once you are into your 40's and beyond - long hair is really a no-no anyway).
-
EastEnders
Watched it for the first time in ages last night and all I could think of was what a frigging AWFUL wedding dress Sharon had on! It was very similar to the frock that Susan Boyle wore on her audition for Britain's Got Talent!

Emmerdale
I thought that too! She won't be able to forgive herself for those being her last words to him. Brilliant episode - I really don't like Charity getting away with everything though. If Declan is dead (and there's talk that maybe he isn't) surely as an insurance policy - he's left some written account of the Home Farm fire and how Charity framed Sam and Rachel. If it stands as it is - Declan dead - she inherits everything and comes up smelling of roses ... AGAIN!

Jason Orange quits band!
But that's what Gary said about Take That - NO-ONE is bigger than the band. I'm sure there are a lot of people like yourself Pippa who value certain members over others - I liked Take That the product and that product was the four of them (I can't really say five as I never came to them as a five - even though I enjoyed Robbie's set on the Progress tour). Unless its a four - its not Take That. Now especially as Gary's solo career has soared its just not Take That anymore - now people will say 'oh its Gary Barlow and his two backing dancers/singers' instead of Gary Barlow and his three backing dancers/singers. I say people - I don't mean those people who've seen the tours and realised just HOW MUCH the other three put into making Take That what they were. As people have said in the past - if those singles from the first era and those from the second had been sung by just one person - no way on God's Green Earth would they have been the massive hits they were - all four (five first time) were responsible - not just one person. I'm actually glad for Jason (I actually could see it coming) he did seem to be excluded quite a bit from The Progress era - and the documentary LBDS illustrated that to me. One things for sure though - with Jason gone - they've lost the most fanciable fella!

To be honest I could see it coming. I think you're wrong about Jason not being integral though. He had a lovely voice but his input was more than that - the magic of Take That is those four (or even five) guys. I'm sure their new album will be a huge success and I'm certain Jason is being entirely honest when he says he wishes them all the best. I have to be honest though - although I really didn't rate Progress that much - I was still watching Take That with interest (even going so far as going to see one of the Manchester legs of the tour) but when watching that 'Look Back Don't Stare' program - I couldn't help but get the impression (and I know I'm not alone in thinking this) that Jason was being edged out a little. Edit - It looked as though Jason felt he was being edged out (whether that is true or not). I'm hoping this isn't the last of Jason though. He's a really nice bloke and I'd like to see a bit more of him in some dramas (he can play a really nasty villain when he puts his mind to it).
