  1. The key word there is 'could' I'll bet nothing will come of it. This scheme was equally (if not more) aggressive than the one that Jimmy Carr was involved in. Jimmy Carr's case ended up front page of all the newspapers. This time - Barlow and co have been hidden in the middle pages. Barlow is Teflon coated at the moment - the squinty-eyed, balding bast*rd will always come up smelling of roses.

Another great episode tonight (although I don't know if I can overlook Lorne killing the dog). Loved Lester's 'OK - which one makes the biggest hole'. And ... as much as I sympathise with Lester - I'm loving Molly!
  3. What musical is it? I detest musicals as well. The only way I'll tolerate a musical is if I like ALL the songs in it - or it is an hysterically funny musical and the humour will make up for the songs I don't like. Hence - the only musical films I like are The Sound of Music and Singing in the Rain!
  4. Whereas my pay-rate is more likely 90 Euros for 1.5 million hours!!!

I've just got my son into this now! I'd recorded the first and second episodes while I watched them (as he seemed reluctant to watch at first) and we both watched them yesterday. He loves it - according to him - its on a par with Breaking Bad as his favourite TV series - ever.

I'm loving Bernice at the moment! One of funniest women in soapland.
  7. There's something about that wording that still says 'I'm top dog'. I know they're bezzie mates now - but I think I understand why Robbie left in the first place! My OH said the other night 'can't Barlow stay off the f*cking TV for five minutes?'
  8. Rob's going to be a daddy again - just saw it on DS. Congrats!

Another excellent episode last night! I always fancied Billy Bob Thornton - and I fancy him even more now! He's so watchable!!!

Totally agree Lee (but I think she probably will unfortunately) I'd go for: Sexiest Male Matthew Wolfenden (David Metcalfe, Emmerdale) Sexiest Female None of those nominated (Charlie Webb from Emmerdale is far sexier/attractive than any of them) Villain of the Year Dominic Power (Cameron Murray, Emmerdale) Best Actor David Neilson (Roy Cropper, Coronation Street) Best Actress Torn between - Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper, Coronation Street) and Nikki Sanderson (Maxine Minniver, Hollyoaks) Best British Soap Emmerdale

Well she's hardly had a storyline lately has she? I mean the last 'meaningful' storyline she had with Ryan was rubbish. Admittedly she's a gorgeous looking girl (probably the best looking young woman on any of the soaps at the moment) but she doesn't really add much to the street acting-wise. I found the way she went on at Phelan in the pub (quite a while ago now) cringeworthy. Still - I think they should have got rid of a lot of others before her (who knows - maybe it was Georgia's own choice to go) - Fiz for one - she's a crap actress and has a face that would frighten a police-horse!

I've not found Faye nearly as annoying as she used to be - I can take or leave her now. Far more annoying than Faye are: Sawphie Maddeh Tina Fiz Leanne If those five were written out now I'd be a happy bunny! They really have to give Deirdre centre stage more often she's turning into the natural successor to Blanche.

I think I may treat myself - just waiting for another sunny day. £15 isn't too bad a price at all!

How much is the tour Pinky?

Just watching Corrie now - oh please why can't they kill Fizz and Leanne off while they're doing Tina - they could do a 3-for-2 - oh and Sawphie could be thrown in as an extra! Deirdre just made me spit my white wine and soda out! I love Deirdre and I'm even starting to warm to Tracey!

I thought in many ways that it reminded me of a film called 'Six Ways To Sunday' ... is the BBT character Lester's alter-ego???

Did anyone else watch this tonight? I thought it was quite brilliant. Martin Freeman's accent was a bit off-putting at the start but it sort of got better (either that or the show is so good that I just started to look past it). Billy Bob Thornton is fab!

Kevin O'Sullivan on TWS just now seemed to be of the opinion (as did Matthew Wright, and for that matter - everyone I knew who watched it). As I said - I thought this was good - but it could have been beyond excellent with another episode. It annoys me that they wasted eight weeks on Broadchurch (which could have been wrapped up in three episodes max) and rushed this far more interesting one.

This was one of those times when an extra episode was definitely needed.

What did you reckon to the conclusion Chris? I thought it was OK (in fact - good) but could have been just a smidgen better. I thought Christine Bottomley (as Rawlins' daughter) was particularly good though. Such a change of character from Melanie in Early Doors.

I find I'm in agreement with you. He could ruin the case for the prosecution with this badgering.

I felt quite sick watching Corrie last night! Anna! You've Lost That Lovin' Phelan!!!!
  23. I was surprised at that. Jane for me is a sort of timeless name. I'm not surprised that Fannies have fallen through the floor though! :)

TBH I could take it or leave it right now. I can't stand anything to do with Sophie - she's a right pain in the arse. I can't stand anything to do with Fiz either because ... well because she's just Fiz. Maria has always been boring and no amount of her stamping her feet in annoyance at Marcus will make her interesting. There are a few things that are still making it interesting though. Its been a long, long time since any of the soaps had a really 'boo-hiss' villain and Phelan is just perfect. I love the actor in a lot of other things I've seen him in (most notably 'Drop Dead Gorgeous') but he's just perfect for this. Surely there is no way out of this for Owen but for Phelan to die ... and there will be huge cheer when he does! Another surprisingly entertaining coupling (for me) has been Tim and Sally. We really need to see more Deirdre too! I love how she has turned into Blanche!

I really enjoyed this ... and I'm of a like-mind - being a doctor (and a very highly commended one with connections in high places) it is possible that he could have somehow had the blood sample tampered with. Having said that - it would be nice if this program veered off and actually had him truly innocent and this be a play on how a devastating crime could have a life-long bearing on this woman's life. Can't wait for next Monday's conclusion. Its also good that we've been rather spoiled by ITV lately what with this following on immediately after the excellent 'The Widower'. I like these two/three parters - no need to drag things out over 8 weeks as in the good (but rather overrated in my opinion) Broadchurch.
