Everything about her music is mind numblingly basic but this at least does have an enjoyable '80s Whitney vibe. A bit like I Will Never Let You Down. But much less epic obviously.

    A fairly ridiculous generalisation.
  4. Forgot to do yesterday's sadly, but... 2-1 Liverpool v Man Utd 1-2 Stoke v Arsenal 2-1 Swansea v Watford
  5. All this hate for Spanish Lesson is gonna make me cry. Girl Gone Wild is her worst ever. COMFORTABLY.
  6. What's a backward facing melody when it's at home?

Oh yeah because she was soooo indie when Lights came out, working with notoriously underground and not at all pop-influenced producer STARSMITH and launching with the critically acclaimed alt-rock radio-unfriendly masterpiece Starry Eyed. Who could have ever guessed she was into commercial pop music back then?!? Come on now.

Everton vs Spurs became a proper thriller in the second half. Some of the quickest, most attack minded football I've seen played in ages. Both will probably be relieved with the point.

I'm actually pleased for Rooney. Now would be a great time for him to take charge of your team and prove why he's one of the best of all time. And shut up all the critics who seem to have relished in his being off form.

The Arsenal game was a riot. Ref really screwed Newcastle over numerous times and I was convinced we'd grind out a 0-0 at best but that result just demonstrates that we've got this title challenge in us. Last year we would have wilted.
  13. :D scandalous! Saturday 2nd January West Ham 2-1 Liverpool Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle Leicester 2-1 Bournemouth Man Utd 1-0 Swansea Norwich 0-2 Southampton Sunderland 1-0 Aston Villa West Brom 0-3 Stoke Watford 1-2 Man City Sunday 3rd January: Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea Everton 2-2 Tottenham

That is how one does a music video. It's everything the song deserved. I'm gonna call a US top 3 and a UK top 5 here.

Haus, you should get the high quality DVD audio rips of Drowned World, Confessions, Sticky & Sweet and MDNA because a good third of the setlist from each is cut on the live CDs and in the case of Confessions and Reinvention several incredible performances are criminally absent (looking at you, Live to Tell). I've got equal love for Reinvention and Confessions. The former is so aggressive musically, the beats are really beyond and the six songs performed from American Life are completely transformed in the best way possible. Pure relentless energy. The one-two-three punch of Into the Groove, Music and Holiday is utterly unbeatable. Confessions is more of a non-stop disco like its parent album and it's a bit lighter on '80s and '90s hits with just seven tracks from those decades, but all of them are given KILLER makeovers, especially Like a Virgin. The nine-minute Hung Up finale is pure euphoria start to end. I get shivers every time. I would actually sell my loved ones into slavery to have been at this tour. Sticky & Sweet is way more of a mishmash than the previous two but a lot of the album tracks pop in a way they don't on record (Beat Goes On, Spanish Lesson and especially She's Not Me which is soooo slinky). This tour is a bit more "trashy fun" with less of the elegance that defined previous tours but that's no bad thing. Music mashed up with Put Your Hands Up For Detroit might just be the definitive version. Slightly underwhelming closer in Give it 2 Me. MDNA Tour is a bit of a misfire in my opinion. Horrible reinventions of a lot of her classics (still trying to work out what they did to Hung Up...) and her vocals are noticably much weaker than any other tour. Also the choreography was bloody awful. Watch Express Yourself and it's hard not to cringe at her stiff movement. Dreadful outfits too. The only performances I go back to are Express Yourself/Born This Way, Erotic Candy Shop and Celebration. Obviously Rebel Heart was a massive return to form. BEST PERFORMER IN POP HISTORY. <3
  16. Trap?!?! I'd say that was a slight stretch. Amazing song though.

Killer performance from Arsenal tonight, Bournemouth were properly shitting themselves for a good thirty minutes of that. Ozil on fire as per, Bellerin impressive too. Everything crossed for a City-Leicester draw tomorrow :D

No, he needed a win to prove that he deserves to be in this job. Let's not make him into a victim. He's a man who's paid a lot of money, and who's spent a huge amount of money, to get results and now his team are going backwards with no sign of improvement. I don't understand why fans back the manager so heavily in these situations. You won't be playing champion's league next year if nothing changes. Terrible performance from Arsenal, one of those rare performances where we simply didn't show up. Nobody on the pitch looked even remotely arsed about being there so... onwards and upwards. Still 2nd.
  20. I Don't Give A is my favourite by far and probably the third-best song on MDNA. I've always quite like GAYLUV too. Bitch I'm Madonna has its moments also.

They may want him but I imagine Pep will want to go to a team who are considered among the best in the world.
  22. Gonna go out there on a limb and say a narrow 2nd place. Which would be such a thrill.

Based on what? Besides your enduring hatred of them obviously. Take the blinkers off and you'll see that Arsenal, having beat the other 5 teams who make up the top 6, and with Sanchez and Wilshere due back imminently to add further depth to the squad, are looking fantastic right now.
  25. "obviously". forbidden love. although I won't be too sad if Sorry goes.
