There's a YouTube video with loads of clips that I've never heard before that says snippets from new album... I may be a little behind on my fandom but when on Earth did we get snippets!?

Oh dear the cover. However - did we expect anything less from Mariah? Perhaps a knitted cardigan and slippers? It adds to her hilarity tbh.

Hmmm I see what you mean, but I think it would cheapen her a bit maybe? As much as Britney is splashed all over the tabloids, there was still something quite mysterious about her because she's somebody you don't really see that much in terms of being on TV or doing interviews... Now she's gonna be on TV every week for months, I think it takes a bit of the mystery away from her - and I think the same would happen to Mariah. Even though her last couple of albums have hardly set the world alight, I still think she commands a bit of stroke.

Obviously going mental for this. I know loads of reports say she's doing Idol, but after what she said about X-Factor when Britney joined? I don't think so. Plus, recently Nick said it wasn't true because they couldn't afford her. :lol:

She's also doing a signing at HMV in Newcastle... I shall be in attendance. :D

I only started watching Game of Thrones about a week ago but have since finished both seasons - really gripping series! Daenerys is my favourite character, I can't tell you how pleased I was when her brother died, despised him! I actually think I shed a tear when Khaldrogo died. :cry: Joffrey must die too, but he's easily the main protagonist I think, so they'll keep him for aslong as possible. Like somebody else said I can't believe we have to wait another 10 months for the next episode. :( I'm actually tempted to read the books just to find out what happens next. :lol: Oh, I despise Cersei and Jamie too. <_<

Jeez, the more I listened the more I'm REALLY surprised at how good a Cheryl album is. :lol: I've always been a fan (obvs, I'm a geordie lass!) but always been really underwhelmed by her solo albums. Last One Standing is spectac. I hear it's a bonus track!?!

I actually think it's pretty easy if the subject doesn't directly affect you just to ignore it and hope other people respond - in relation to the home office survey thingy. Although, just because I don't want to marry a girl doesn't mean I don't have a view on it. I think in the most basic sense marriage is a union between 2 people that love each other. Gender is irrelevant I feel, and sometimes I actually feel embarrassed that we hear so much about how we're so sophisticated and evolved in this age, but gay marriage is still not allowed - baffling. Such a well developed civilisation we are, apparently... So aye, in short I gave my views on it in support of gay marriage. I was actually made a bit more hopeful on the topic to find that the home office were actually trying to form a concencus on the matter.

To be fair though, when have we heard Britney sing live recently? It doesn't stop her releasing music and forging a career for herself, which for the most part has been incredibly successful. There's a whole host of artists nowadays that are successful that don't have the best singing voices, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna even... As for the first bit, I don't think I've heard anything in the past few years that I don't think somebody else could've executed better, it's all about material that suits, and certainly listening to this album it seems like she's found that. As Cheryl said herself recently, she knows she's no Mariah or Whitney - nor has she ever claimed to be. She's a performer, there's nothing wrong with that!

Listened to the majority of the main tracks... On first impression, it's without a shadow of a doubt her best album by a mile. You can tell she's worked on it over time as opposed to a 2 week recording session like the first 2.

Underwhelmed. Although, like someone else said I had the same reaction to Fight For This Love and Promise This, so I'm not entirely ruling it out yet. It'll probably grow on me once I've seen the entire package. I always try to remain neutral and disregard the name of the artist and think "would I like this if it were a new unknown artist?" and thus far the answer is nay.

I watched it and enjoyed it for what it was. As for whether it was an accurate depiction of the person she was, I think quite a dollop of Hollywood gloss was chucked over the top of it in all honesty. I was quite young when she was PM, but being from the North and from a working class family, I do recall hearing a lot about how she did nothing for "us" as it were. Irrespective of that, it was plain to see the job she had was no easy task, and whilst it'd be easy to pick her apart from the mistakes she made, the country was failing at the time from my understanding so she was in an extremely undesirable position.

Massive fan of Clarkson, always have been really but for some reason I've pretty much glossed over this whole album. I quite liked Mr. Know It All, hated Stronger the first few times I heard it but it's slowly crept in to my "like" pile so I decided to give the album a second listen. I listened to all of the choruses when the album first leaked and admittedly my first reaction was "hmmm, seems a bit My December, not many hooks" but since I've actually given it the time of day I'm really enjoying this. :o To be fair though I've only given the tracks a listen which people have mentioned over and over in this thread. :heehee: I Forgive You, War Is Over, Dark Side are all really good.

Gaby Logan? Christ. I think this is a load of "twaddle" anyway, Dermot said himself Simon wants an American host for the USXF, so a move across the pond is a billion to one chance in my opinion. However, I do think considering he's gotten rid of Paula and Nicole "Destroyer of childrens dreams" Scherzinger (HA.) I think we could be in for a re-shuffle too. I like Dermot, but some of his Dermot-isms are beginning to grate a bit.

I'm pleased they're saying that Leona wants it to be a major step-up, as much as I want the album now, I think releasing the album on the back of Collide would've spawned an inferior Echo-type performance, and as fans what do we want? A few more mediocre performing albums? Or smashing the BB200 like she did with Spirit, another 3m+ selling album for the UK? The "informer" is right, it takes time, I just hope it doesn't disappoint when it does arrive. I do think part of the problem is that you need to be able to match the song with the instrument, and with Leona's incredibly strong vocal they need to do her justice. I know I wouldn't be happy with an album full on bubble-gum pop which has been rush released just to shut the fans up. On the positive side, Cowell doesn't just let his artists rest on their laurels, I think it's telling of his commitment towards Leona by how long he is giving her, the extra time to perfect the album, find the right producers etc, etc. all of which cost big $$$, he is investing in her, which can only be a good thing. Regardless of how long it takes until Glassheart is released, he will shove her so far down everyone's throats to ensure the campaign is successful. I'm not overly concerned tbh. ^_^

Without caring enough to find the appropriate topic I wanted to state that Talk That Talk (single) is epic. That's all really.

Love Underwood! I'm pleased she took a break after Play On, I thought she seemed to just waltz into every album campaign approximately 30 seconds after declaring the last one finished. She has some strong albums under her belt too, some of my favourites! ^_^

I actually think it's just me that thinks Gotta Be You is infinitely better than WMYB or OT. Ah well...
