I only gave this album a real listen the other week despite having had it since the week of it's release and having already deemed it "$h!t" to anyone that would listen and I absolutely LOVE IT. Migrate up in here please
Migrate was immense. L.A Reid must be on crack not to see a massive hit waiting to happen.

Mariah On Twitter!
Hmmm forgive me, but she seems a little irritating from the Tweets LOL. It's good to get updates on the music side of things though... APPARENTLY the new album is supposed to be out before the end of the year. :o

Timbaland to work on Alexandra's album?
Alex just updated her Twitter saying something along the lines of "Just met Timbaland, he's such a cool guy!" however, shortly before she said something about Stargate having written and produced a great song for her. Maybe i'm clutching at straws but it's a strong possibility that they're connected. Plus a few days ago it said she was going to record her album in the US. ^_^

WWE Backlash 2009
I watched Wrestlemania and thought it was an alright show but completely agree with the masses that Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels completely STOLE the show, it was immense. I'm not a huge fan per se of either of them but it was gripping, down to the last second. Before WM began I was totally convinced that Undertaker would win (like I am every year!) but during the match I actually let that drop and thought "good God, HBK could actually end the streak!", after the elbow off the top and the Sweet Chin Music I thought it could be over. Immense match. As Triple H is my favourite wrestler (and has been for a good 11 years now :heehee: ) I was severely disappointed in the main event, I was pleased to see him retain obviously, but I expected a lot more drama. There was no real "near falls" or exciting moments, I expected involvement from both Legacy and the McMahon's but got neither, and expected a lot more controversy. I was really disappointed, the end of the match was really quite one sided and I felt it ended abruptly with the pedigree. Considering it was the 25th anniversary I think they could have made a lot more effort, obviously it would never have been because it was a strapless bout but in my opinion Undertaker Vs. Shawn should have closed the show. I only hope that the draft next weeks sees them end up on the same show to continue this amazing feud. Anywho, back to Triple H. I'm feeling a bit "meh" towards Backlash, but like everybody else I sense a heel turn on Batista's part. He's been face for too long now and injecting him between Orton and Triple H is a bit WTF'ish because he doesn't have loyalty to either of them, making his appearance in this storyline a bit pointless, he has no reason to be there. I think sometime within the next few months we're going to see a Triple H/Batista program though, based on the fact that Triple H has NEVER beaten Batista, they'll play for that angle I assume. Where Orton fits into that I don't know as of yet so i'm keen to see how it plays out. BRING ON THE DRAFT! :D

Eastenders //
I know i'm incredibly late (blame the miracle of life), but I watched the Wedding Episode and it was heart-breaking. I sobbed like a small child, poor fictional Ronnie. :(

Hits Daily Double - US Top 50 Albums
I am beyond shocked at Flo-Rida's complete and utter bomb. Considering he broke a billion records with Right Round and seemingly has many single-worthy tracks on the album (so i'm told...) to sell such a dismal amount is shockingly embarrassing. :o

Alesha // Let's Get Excited
Really not liking this single choice... Sounds like a poor mans Lipstick. :drama:

Eminem 'We Made You' // '3 A.M.'
I said this in the last Eminem thread but I shall say it again... When he's good, he's REALLY good. Songs like Lose Yourself, When I'm Gone, Cleaning Out My Closet etc. are really great tracks. However, when he lowers himself to "songs" like Just Lose It, Without Me, The Real Slim Shady and this dirge he is no more than a highly paid Mr. Blobby or Bob The Builder or The Cheeky Girls or Chico, it's just plain novelty and I don't know why he demeans himself by recording (nevermind releasing!) completely sub-par material like this. Vile.

iTunes Chart // April
Argh, Girls Aloud (loons will be sticking needles in their voodoo dolls right about now...) are missing the Top10 with this single like. I really hoped they would just sneak in but as of right now they're going to miss out. Which is a shame, I guess. :(

OFFICIAL COMIC RELIEF NEWS: The Single For 2009
*Hand up* Beyond blind. As somebody who likes all 3 of the girlbands and doesn't really have any sort of loyalty per se to any of them, I can stand back impartially and say that Chasing Lights is the best album of the 3. The reason GA sold tonnes more is because they had a lot of hype this time around, Cheryl being on X-Factor week-in, week-out no doubt helped also and outsold The Saturdays because they're a well established act and are undoubtedly the nations sweethearts. Much in the same way that when Girls Aloud first formed the Sugababes were in Girls Alouds current position, and many considered Girls Aloud (and many still do...) to be a second rate Sugababes. Not my opinion, by quite some way, but a lot of people do see it like that. As for The Saturdays not being able to sing, I completely disagree with that. I watched 3 acapella videos of The Saturdays singing Up, Just Can't Get Enough and Issues to a group of kids for some Comic Relief thing, completely unrehearsed just straight off the bat. As much as I love Girls Aloud they do have some Godawful singers, they're all quite hit and miss. Sarah is cringeworthy in every sense of the word, my hatred for that girl is well documented. Cheryl isn't THAT bad, but as I said can be hit and miss. Kimberley is atrocious in my opinion, i'm sorry I just haven't heard her hit one note live, Nadine and Nicola are where the vocal talent lies. Oh and please don't patronise me by posting videos of them singing to try and prove me wrong, i've been a Girls Aloud fan long enough and seen enough live performances to form a valid opinion (including them on tour, which i'll be seeing again in May by the way :P ). Sugababes (in my unbiased opinion...) have gone a bit "off the boil" as of late, I only liked a handful of tracks on their latest album (same can be said for Girls Aloud too really) but I thought Chasing Lights was a great album, bubblegum pop at it's best. From C&S I only liked Girls, No Can Do and You On A Good Day, from Out Of Control I only liked The Promise, The Loving Kind (which admittedly, I adore), Love Is Pain and Turn To Stone. Whereas from Chasing Lights I would be better off listing the tracks that I don't like. In conclusion... As a fan of all 3, I understand that they all have their strengths and weaknesses but for me The Saturdays' album trumps both Girls Aloud and Sugababes. Oh and I just want to hit that point about Taylor Swift - I don't quite see what she has done wrong? She's a teenage girl, writes her own music, always sings live, works very hard and is incredibly successful. Sure her music isn't groundbreaking, nor is her songwriting, it's nothing new in terms of defining her genre or whatnot, she's an inoffensive country artist who does seem very intelligent and very grounded from the interviews i've seen from her.

Whitney Houston 'I Look To You'
Obviously not happening now. Slightly gutted as I had been anticipating this. :(
-
Songs re-entering the Charts since 2007
I imagine it re-entered due to being a prominent feature in Britain's Got Talent... ;)
-
Whitney Houston 'I Look To You'
Is this still happening? Her official says absolutely nothing about it... Plus we've heard of no titles or really, well, ANYTHING about this. How baffling. :(

Has Beyonce been doing some promotion?

All I Ever Wanted [New album discussion]
Absolutely not, cheater! :P

iTunes Chart: February (Part 2)
Firstly, you shush. People can have whoever they want in their signature. Secondly, for God sake will people just shut the hell up? This is ridiculous, not one day do I read this thread without reading some petty arguement and everytime it seems to be the same people instigating it. Just a gentle reminder that if people cannot play nice - they won't play at all. Understood?

"Sweet Dreams" • Sixth Single
I'm with you. They are the obvious uptempo smash hits just waiting to be released. Why Diva was chosen with those 2 gems still left on the album is beyond me. I honestly think Diva is the worst thing Beyonce has ever recorded. That's including the Fighting Temptations tracks too... :heehee:

Jade Goody 1981 - 2009 RIP
Hmmm, undoubtedly he's very aware that he'll be getting paid a hell of a lot of money the more exposure she gets but I wouldn't say he's particularly enjoying that arguably one of his most profitable clients is dying? Just typing that sentence made me feel very cheap and uneasy.

iTunes Chart: February (Part 2)
...And just as I get thoroughly bored of My Life Would Suck Without You - the album leaks! I must say, this album has reminded me why I originally championed Kelly way back when she first won Idol right after I heard A Moment Like This. The album is superb. There's been some decent pop albums knocking about recently but none that I think i'll honestly listen to from start to finish like I know without a shadow of a doubt I will do with this album. If sales equate to quality then she'll have the biggest year of her career. Better than Breakaway in my opinion. [/Loonrantover] -_-

All I Ever Wanted [New album discussion]
Oh and i'm not keen on I Do Not Hook Up yet either... I can see the appeal of it, but I think the obviousness of it is putting me off? If that makes sense? :heehee: You can definitely tell it's a Katy Perry cast-off though, I reckon you could easily switch Kelly's vocals for Katy's and very few people would notice. Edit: I LOVE I Do Not Hook Up now, how the times change eh?  :P

All I Ever Wanted [New album discussion]
Ooh there's your competition Ms. Swift! :P As for the album, well it's growing on me majorly at the moment but the ones that seem to be standing out to everyone else don't really seem to be that instant for me. I expected to love Save You and Already Gone on first listen, but they're yet to grow on me... I love Cry, I Want You ( ), Impossible and Don't Let Me Stop You. Ready, All I Ever Wanted and Whyyouwannabringmedown are the weak ones for me thus far...

The Saturdays: We Want To Crack America
You really think so? I would say what with Out Of Control being their biggest studio album yet and Cheryl already (reportedly) trying to crack the US, I would definitely be inclined to think that if anyone is garnering interest in the US right now - it would be Girls Aloud. I haven't heard anything about interest being shown to The Saturdays in the US?
-
The Saturdays: We Want To Crack America
Definitely not right now. They need to focus on cracking the UK first! A few hit singles and an album (at this point in time) which still hasn't sold 200k does not make them a huge success, nor anywhere NEAR ready to try the US. If the album goes on to sell a good 500k/600k then please do tell me to shut up, but at this point in time I don't see it happening. They'll scrape platinum if they're lucky and then we'll see how album #2 performs. I'm not "hating" on them in any way. I actually adore The Saturdays and think their album was one of the best pop albums of 2008, I prefer it to all of their competitors, I think Chasing Lights is better than Out Of Control, Catfights & Spotlights and Doll Domination, and generally am quite a huge fan, but this is totally the wrong time. It's good that they have aspirations and obviously it would be good to see them have a shot at the US at some point, but definitely not now. In a world where not even Girls Aloud and Sugababes (the 2 biggest girlgroups we currently host) haven't even dared try, The Saturdays should definitely leave it for now. Hell not even The Pussycat Dolls sell there anymore. :heehee:
