As PopJustice rightly pointed out, this whole £3 for an album thing is just loss-leading. They're blatantly losing themselves money to draw people in but is financially unsustainable in the long run. I assume it'll be for a minimal time period then they'll probably join in line with the other digital retailers.

That's really low for Kanye... Especially considering his last album cleared 1m in it's first week didn't it? Or just below it? One of the two...

I think a few things really ruined this project. 1. SORELY underpromoted. 2. Video for Keeps Gettin' Better was released FAR too late and ended up being a non-factor. Plus the video was $h!te. 3. The lack of physical for Keeps Gettin' Better, which could have helped it chart better and thus made people realise she was back. Which I still don't think people realise. :arrr: Oh and the solely underpromoted bit is the main reason I feel, aside from the VMA's and the AMA's - what else did she do? The VMA's was basically rendered obsolete because it was waaaay too early to start promoting and the AMA's was just too little too late. It's all about timing and RCA screwed it up big time.

Oh and are there any promotional performances she's done from this era? Aside from that pretty weird performance of Right Here on BET I think it was...

FABULOUS ALBUM. Like Jake, i've been a fan of Brandy for years now and i'm gutted at the lack of commerical success she gets. Her albums are always highly anticipated for me because I know she ALWAYS delivers and obviously it's been a few years since Afrodisiac now and she's changed labels, had the car crash incident etc. so aside from the fabulous 2 singles I was wondering whether she could actually still deliver and she absolutely NAILED it, yet again. Camouflage and Piano Man are standing out for me thus far. Shame it'll only sell about 10 copies. :cry:

Well yes, quite. However, last week they did muck up by releasing Forgive Me a day later than the other girls releasing that week (Britney, Beyonce and Christina) thus giving them a full days sales more than her, had she had the extra day of sales she could have been a few notches higher. I think Leona fans (including I) are getting annoyed because Forgive Me could have performed better had her management acted appropriately, and thus the same with Run. Had Run been released at midnight last night she could have had an extra day of sales and thus had a larger tally at the end of this week. I'm not going to be so naive as to say "OMGZ SHE WILL DEFFO BE NUMBA1!" but 1 day of lost sales could indeed make all the difference. So I think that's why people are annoyed. :P

Nope. Spirit was released as a standard album this time last year, then had 2 extra tracks tagged onto it for the US release to make it more appealing to the American market (which obviously worked...) and now they're re-releasing it with the 2 extra tracks from the US release, Run and the single edits of Better In Time, Footprints In The Sand and apparently a different version of Whatever It Takes. ^_^

Ugh they need to capitalise on this NOW instead of waiting forever. :arrr: Add it to iTunes for God's sake!!! Cowell is clearly losing his touch. Leona was obviously phenomenal. :heart:

Firstly, i'm entirely sure that's how awards work, give it to one person (Who doesn't want it? Yet they accept a similar award a few years later?) but then decide to give it to another. I believe that to be some ridiculous fandom right thurrr. Oh yeah I know Madge outsells Mariah in Europe by a country mile, but she would have had to sell quite a bit in Europe, 2.1m worth for that figure to be real. I know we'll never see exact sales etc, etc but I really do doubt this whole 3.1m thing. The album hasn't really been THAT successful anywhere and to sell 2.1m outside of her biggest selling territories seems a bit off to me. Not that i'm "hating" or whatever the kids call it these days, Mariah's album has done poorly too. ^_^
