Absolutely fantastic video. I'm glad they're ploughing money into Rihanna because she's had quite a lot of low budget music videos, We Ride, Take A Bow, Unfaithful, Hate That I Love You... and as everyone else has said she's HUGE right now and her "people" need to recognise that and capitalise on it pushing her further in terms of oustanding videos etc. There's always a risk of overexposure though which she's running dangerously close to. For once, maybe she should actually take a break after this album.
  2. We really need some official news in the UK and SOON. She has been away far too long. Plus she could possibly end up with a post-American backlash a la so many others - Joss Stone, Natasha Bedingfield, Daniel Bedingfield, James Blunt...

What would we reckon the worldwide sales are for this at the moment? 1.6/1.7m?
  4. Paradise with Amerie? Loved it. However I think this has FLOP written all over it. :( I wish she would stop running around with the damned husband and do a bit of promotion, in somewhere other than the US perhaps. Saying that i'm not surprised, she usually promotes the first single and album release then uses airplay and video rotation to do the rest of the work with each subsequent single. -_-
  5. I'm not going to say I loved this months ago like everyone else. I'm a total sheep and bandwagon jumper that only heard this song a few days ago, but I do adore it.

Chuffed about the album. I'll be surprised if she spawns anymore hits off this album in the UK because as much as I love Jordin I think the success of this single has to be at least partly credited to Chris Brown. If this single can "break her" in the UK then i'm thrilled because she has so much talent but I have a sneaking suspicion that after this single the UK will lose interest, I hope i'm wrong though!
  7. Ahhh this thread brings back SO many memories for me. I think Rob will remember the good ol' days when I first registered on CC and argued with him tooth and nail about how great S Club 7 and Rachel Stevens were etc, etc. Rob told me time and time again that they puppets, unoriginal, throwaway pop and nothing special whatsoever - to which I argued against repeatedly. However, in retrospect (God help me for saying this...) Rob was right. S Club 7 were just a high scale cash cow, used to shift units and make money for the label - nothing more, nothing less. Same goes for Rachel Stevens, as much as I enjoyed the music of both S Club 7 and Rachel they were nothing but puppets and I actually agree with Rob that The Saturdays are exactly the same. Unit shifters, disposable and i'm doubtful they will last long. However, I hope i'm wrong with that because I do think they show a bit of promise, they could actually produce something good. As for the song, it's pretty mediocre in comparison to a lot of other stuff out there at the moment but I do quite like it. I don't love it by any means but it's just harmless pop music. I wish them every success in the world, but a long-lasting career isn't going to happen in my opinion.

After this having been out for months and never really liking Better In Time at ALL when I got the album I now actually love the track, such comforting lyrics. J'adore.
  9. I didn't know Helen and doubt I ever spoke one word to her but i'm very saddened to hear this. She will be a very much missed member of the community, please pass on my condolences. R.I.P.

Well Mariah said in a recent interview that she's shot 2 new videos, one for I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time and one for Love Story, so I assume we'll be getting Love Story next, and as much as I love it (one of my favourites on the album) it's terrible single material and will bomb absolutely everywhere. I'm That Chick has always been earmarked but it's basically Touch My Body part 2 in terms of pace and melody. Migrate NEEDS to be released, if she wants a surefire smash from this album it has to be released. Side Effects is far too personal and she'll not want to spend all of her time explaining the meaning behind it I imagine. For The Record I would rule out too, I dunno why I just don't see it happening. I Stay In Love is marked on the album as a single so that's likely I guess. Keeping in mind they also were going to go with Cruise Control for the lead so I wouldn't rule that out either...

Glad i'm not alone on this anyway. Before the album was released L.A Reid (Mariah's label boss) said there would be SIX singles released from this album. We now have 3, there is apparently a video for Love Story as well, which leaves 2 more singles - one will be I'm That Chick and I PRAY the other is Migrate.

Ugh Mariah added FAR too soon. Which was indeed the problem with Bye Bye. Rush-releasing. I know the album is pretty much tanking (sitting on about 100k in the UK at the moment), and since April we've had 3 new Mariah videos. Don't get me wrong I love having Mariah around and all that jazz but they're screwing this project up big time. Another flop headed her way then. I would like to be proved wrong but i'm doubtful. :drama:
  13. It absolutely NEEDS to be Migrate.
  14. I agree with James - I loved Friends and still do watch it on DVD from time to time but a film would ruin it I reckon. What storylines could they possibly do? None that would be worth seeing and in the long run I think it would just taint the massive success of Friends. Would the film be huge? Sure it would. Would the 6 stars make a lot of money from it? Damn straight they would. Would it be a quality film worth the price of a cinema ticket? Not really, no.
  15. Well the video is quite good and to be frank it's EXACTLY what I was expecting. Look at the Mimi videos, they seem to get cheaper and cheaper as the project went on. Still I suppose she looks good which will attract some attention. :heehee: I reckon it's a better video than Bye Bye for sure too. Agreed about T.I. ruining it though. I guess we'll just have to see how this one goes down...
  16. Just heard this on Radio1. :w00t: However, it's FAR too early to be playlisted yet. They suffered from rushing Bye Bye so quickly, they should certainly not rush this as well...

    #12 in todays midweeks. ^_^
  20. This is an extract from an interview Mariah gave the other day which indicates 2 different singles... "Excerpts from the Interview You just got married! Could you tell me how you met your husband Nick Cannon? "We actually met in 2005 at the Teen Choice Awards. He gave me an award... And we did two videos that day and just didn't finish up the second one which was really what I wanted before, which was, it was a song called 'Love Story' and it's been really sort of become like a thing. So it's nice."
  21. Is she having a laugh? No disrespect to JAN of course, but everyone slagged off Virgin for handling her badly and not promoting her etc, etc. Then she signs to a new label in IDJ (who are excellent with the promotional wheel!) and suddenly this album has flopped because of them and now everyone is blaming IDJ. I see a pattern emerging. I honestly think Janet is just lazy and expects to sell phenomenally well based on her name alone with little or no input in terms of promotion or appearances etc. If there are no more singles why did she just randomly perform Luv on Ellen as well? That's a bit weird. Get a grip Janet!
  22. 1. Left Of The Middle 2. White Lillies Island 3. Counting Down The Days The GH doesn't count as a studio album. ;)
  23. Hmmm I hate to cast doubts but isn't that Carmit in "Doll gear" on the far right next to Nicole?

Bleeding Love is great as always - good to see her do the big notes REALLY well, because in most of the performances i've seen recently she hasn't hit them like she did early on in Bleeding Love's life as it were. :heehee: Better In Time - Great to see her perform this as we don't have that many performances of it. ^_^ I loved the dress too. :o All in all Leona looked really relaxed and confident, she's really maturing as a performer. :D
  25. I know BIT/FITS is still cooling off in the UK but we really do need official news of the next single now. :( Video, release dates, promo dates. Etc. ^_^
